Ed, your vids are such a joy to watch! No matter what craziness is going on around me or in the world (often both!), you always provide an opportunity to chill out and enjoy some toyetic goodness.
I love watching these videos for when you find something I had as a kid and had completely forgotten about. at 4:53 you zoom in to those Socket Poppers. I had that exact pair! The weird Alien bug guy and a football player. They were so weird.
The Toy Department is definitely one of a kind; amazing selection, very reasonable prices; I feel like they price most things to move, not sit on the shelf to collect dust. Picked up a very nice, graded double telescoping Luke there for less than what another shop near me was asking on an ungraded, faded one. Definitely worth it every time I go there!
Miss the days of toy catalogs, those catalogs were very cool to see, can't wait to see you use them in toy history videos. As far as money not being an issue, honestly I would buy up all the prototypes, love seeing those. Also, would buy the nickerbocker lord of the rings figures if they had those.
Indiana Jpnes figures & playsets weren't easy to find at the time they were released; I can only assume they had a very limited run when made. My friends & I wanted some but they were just hard to find.
Love your channel, Ed - I just moved to Columbus area recently to be closer to my daughter. She and my wife took to this store in early May for my birthday, so it's cool to see the Transformers Pretenders Finback figure in your video that I bought on our visit to this store. That store is ridiculous and so amazingly organized!! (I should have gone to the toy show in Xenia, but didn't make it that weekend - definitely going to try and hit it next year!)
Nonsense Ed, the toy fair catalogs were the most interesting, I found myself rewinding and replaying to try and catch a glimpse of those beautiful pages!👀What an incredible store, those protos!😮
That place is humongous-and likely very dangerous for one's wallet! I wouldn't mind a few hours there just for the sake of exploring and reminiscing-heck, a few toys I saw reminded me of an early 90's toy line I collected way back when and nearly forgot about!
Awesome vid! I have a Hammertail that I display alongside my Inhumanoids. I'd never seen them before as a kid. Him and Gorzak are both honorary members of my Inhumanoids now.
Man, had Ed and Major Wrestling Figure Podcast both drop Toy Department videos today, that store gettin a ton of love! Wish I was even remotely in the area, seems like an awesome place.
@@EdsRetroGeekOut Its a fun watch, much more of a focus on wrestling figs. You really showcase more of the stuff thats up my alley tho, I dont know if it'd be safe for me to go in there without emptyin my bank account lol.
Wow. Literally a department store of toys. That nostalgia bug, lol. Get it, Golderman. Go get it. Those Kenner catalogues are so nice. Really don't need any more old mags & comics to collect. Kinda lucky I'm across the other side of the world so they rarely ever pop up, haha...
Killer Tomato on card is extra awesome and not a bad price!🍅 Nice to see Greco go all in too, as the rest of the fellas seemed to have full baskets. Wasn’t familiar with Battle Brawlers but me likey. Thanks Ed.
Enjoying the show Ed 👏🎥 Wow what a store. Remember hiring the Killer Tomatoes Film on VHS as a 5 year old! I think it was the cover art, my parents really didn’t get it! Never seen any on our Toy Shop On Tour travels, great spot!
Great store Ed the way you resist to buy a lot stuff is incredible but the toy shows need a lot money and seeing Greko buy so much stuff is incredible i seeing your channel for a few years and i haven't seen him buy so much stuff. Great video Ed
@@EdsRetroGeekOut None! I’m in the middle of nowhere in Alberta, Canada. 🇨🇦 ☹️ I have 1 lone thrift store in my small town. You’re doing my dream vacation. 😆
Hi Ed! You Deserve many Subscribers for being one of the Most Awesome and Fun Cool UA-camr on your Channel. I enjoyed the Video. Keep it up, Buddy! 😎😎😎👍👍
I've always wondered about prototypes, how do you know they are actually prototypes made in the 80´s 90's and not figures made on a 3d printer in 2022?
Usually they will come traced back from an artist or employee of a toy company. & for a wax or resin proto it will be difficult to replicate that with a 3d printer 😅
Here we go, here we go, outside to see, but the friggin door is jammed On the mini RV Miles and miles, away from home Boston Mike screaming loud, on the megaphone. Store is loaded, buying takes guts Just saw some super rare, muscle nuts. Open up the case, gonna make me holler, Gotta a Kenner catalog for forty dollars. Are Power Rangers not popular to collect? I never really see them on the shelves in your videos and none of you guys seem to collect them. Just curious because I would love to collect them
What toy would you have picked up at toy department if money wasn’t an issue? 🤔
All the carded vintage 😆
Have to be one of the Super Powers, more rare fellas, or maybe one of those green Ewoks. 🐻 I like how they look a Star Wars Grinch.
Colleen O’Reilly JumpTrooper. Exo Squad was the best. Though a 91' Gi Joe might be cool to pickup as well.
Those Muscle Mutts were awesome
If money was no problem. I would go after every single transformers ever made… 😂 the biggest epic collection
cool trip and so much toys to see. wow
Love the toy magazines, it's the best way see all the lines you might not be able to collect or have room for.
no! the catalogs are the most exciting content ever! I would watch hours of just going through those!
😁 ok so im not the only one who likes those
Looking through the Toy Fair catalogs is not boring content, I love it!!!!

That james bond jr 2up proto was looking at me 😅 so cool to see it
That store is amazing! I just saw it on the major podcast. I wouldn’t know where to start! Died and gone to toy heaven! And love the toy fair guides!
The guides you really don’t ever get to flip through before buying 🤓 so this was a great experience.
Eddie, thanks for making the last 20 minutes of my work day awesome!
Thanks for taking time to watch it 😁
I love the Toy Department, it's right down the street from my job.
Thanks Ed. I'm not sure how many stores can compete with Toy Department. Can maybe count them on one hand. Incredible store.
Looking back at the videos it is freaking huge
Stores like this place make me proud to be from Ohio. And you guys converted the camera guy to our side! Buah ha ha ha!!! Another collector is born
He was into movie lure but we got him into plastic 🤣
@@EdsRetroGeekOut the Great Hunt expands! Love it

Great episode! Toy Department is a great stop that I try to get to a few times a year. About a 3.5-4 hour trip for me!
I’d visit it more often if it was that close to me 😅
The amount of cool toys they have there , is overwhelming. 🤩
Man this shop has always been a bucket list store. One day!
Should have hit House if Plastics while in the area. Great ship also!
I’m unsure if they were close enough or already setting up at the show, but the name does ring a bell 🤓

Good place to be close to 😁
I live about an hour from there. I go there once every couple months. They have some of the best deals I’ve ever seen.
Battle Brawlers, never heard of that line, they are so cool!

Honestly Ed, if I went into that place with $25,000, I might come out with enough money left to get something to eat at Whattaburger 😂😂

A lot of cool looking toys
