I totally understand the problem with the grease. but as a "die hard fan", using a conditioner(aussie miracle moist) for 10-15min before you shower takes out 95% of it. just a tip! love your videos keep it up!
I love goon grease the only that holds my hair slick I just bought reuzeul but I’m not gona try it till my hair is long enough it’s down my eye brows rn tryna let grow down my cheek
Oh man I am so with you on the oil based pomades for sure because it takes at least three to four shampoos to get it off your hair. It actually depends on the product you buy too.
For those wanting the styling and control of an oil based pomade, without the greasiness, hard washout, and heavy buildup I highly recommend O’douds Multi Purpose Pomade. Cleanest feeling pomade I’ve ever used.
@@ManForHimself use KM rough rider coz of you ! and love it so much but so hard to clean .. i must clean it with shampoo like 2 times but still not clean 100% haha .. thanks robin 🙏🏻
Robin James do a Johnny b mode gel review, maybe it’ll change how you look at gels. It’s a little different than a regular gel. The smell is amazing too. It’s a meh product tbh but that scent...I also haven’t seen a single soul review it
The oil based one hurt, but is so true. It seems like everyday I see a new unorthodox water based that mimics oil based without having to be stuck with buildup. I do still think oil based can be fun from time to time though.
Yeah I use them time to time but its lots better if you use them once each month since that let's your head unclog pores since oil based pomade does clog pores and lead to hair loss if you use them like everyday
@@dsmer06 yeah I usually use water based pomades and if I'm feeling like it I'll use some oil based pomade also depends if I want to no product in my hair when I shower or if I'll deal with oil based staying in my hair for a few days

Love your videos man! I have similar length hair as well so I really loved the last “how you style your hair” video! Keep them coming! Also, I’d love to see a “no heat” tutorial for when you don’t have enough time to break out the hair dryer. Thanks Robin and keep up the great content! -Z
I disagree with hating dry shampoos. Washing your hair can take some time espesially when you are in a hurry and you don't have any time to wash it. Yes, hair feels more heavy and kinda hard but at least it looks clean
I totally get how oil based pomades can be hard to wash out. One trick is to put a bit of olive oil in your hair 10 minutes before shampooing and that gets all of it out. Plus the olive oil helps condition your hair.
I haven't used a dry shampoo in my life, it's not popular in my country. This is fairly specific but I'm looking to get facial plastic surgery soon, and it requires not washing your hair for like 4 days. I wonder how would I cleanse my hair? Have you heard of micellar hair shampoos? (I have shoulder length hair, girl here)
@@ManForHimself thank you! I'm gonna do rhinoplasty. I'm actually a girl but I love watching your channel and I absolutely love your street style series! Hope everything comes back to normal soon
Hi Robin, great video as always! Could you also review some products from Philip B., as this brand also has some products which are for hair and body, BUT, they are really great.
What I hate about oil based is the fact that it’s such a nuisance to wash off your hands after styling. You must use a towel to wipe it off your hands.
oh well, if you try it, please include it in a video of yours cause I was really interested of buying it given all the positive reviews. unlike the gel you brought up at 8:15 (😂😂) this is surprisingly not sticky and not heavy at all!!
Hey, Robin! Loved the video. Since you showed Reuzel Green there, I'd like to ask a question about the brand: what's your opinion on Fiber, Clay and Extreme Hold? Have you had the chance to try them?
I don't wash my hair everyday as I've heard that is bad and can remove essential oils instead of just the excess oil. So I use dry shampoo on the days that I don't use regular shampoo because my hair can look quite greasy after one day of not washing, but for the reasons I mentioned I don't shampoo every day. I've tried cheaper dry shampoos around the £2 mark which I think do over-matte my hair but I think ones around £5+ are well worth it, effective and great. Personal preference really, but I agree with you on all the other products!
I was applauding at each product going yes totally agree 😂. Recently I bought the original Brylcreem in the red pot and my hair is straight and fine. I thought "this should be fine it was popular back in the day with all the guys, has to be good and work well"...WRONG it stuck in my hair through 3 shampoos and left my hair limp and greasy. Into the bin it went
Interesting you don’t like batiste. I mean washing your hair is always the better option but for me batiste is great at getting rid of the grease instantly and actually gives my hair texture and makes my hair more pliable but what works for some doesn’t work for others.
Funny Vid...respect for the greasers out there, but I agree with you on this one. I like to change up my products everyday and degreasing is a pain unless you want grease build up which I dont like. I prefer UWB
Just curious but my hair is so boring and just falls when I style. I feel like it’s better after I use my product ( garnier fructis mango head putty )I prefer it a few hours after when I rub my hands through my hair and still has the shape only looks dryer. Anyway my main question is how often do u actually shampoo your hair? I think I shampoo too much ( every day ) I know I prob shouldn’t. But how do u fix bed head lol? Also gonna start to use sea salt as a pre styler and maybe time to update my styling product. Cheers
Have you tried other Jack Black hair products? Would be interesting to hear your opinion. I'm currently using their texture cream and I'm really liking it! Btw I've just ordered a bottle of Tan-luxe Face under your recommendation, can't wait to try it on my overly pale face haha.
Robin, have you tried sevenpotions water based pomade and reuzel extreme hold matte pomade? Wondering you're thoughts on them or anyone else, if they do. The sevenpotions one is the best I've used so far but it's expensive, would be cheaper to buy a big tin of the reuzel. Have used the pink one but a bit too greasy for my liking, especially when I have to use more as hair gets longer
I've actually started using dry shampoo recently and actually like it. I have significantly longer hair than you though. Literally every other note I totally agree though. Tried an oil based pomade once and will never go back. Gel is just awful and I've never tried the sprays but ...just no
@@ManForHimself The only one who should still be using gel is Guy Fieri and that's only because we'd all be concerned if suddenly he wasn't a walking billboard for the 90s 😅
Hey robin, is it normal to lose more hair after I apply the product? in particular, when I have a product on my hair and I take a shower I noticed I lose more hair. (Sorry for my bad English)
Honestly I hate dry shampoo. It's combined with the "washing your hair is evil" fad. It doesn't cleanse your hair, and in fact actually cakes down dirt/grime into your hair if used continually. It's a once-in-a-while thing to make your hair look less greasy, but that's it.
SOS. SOS! I followed Robin's slick back tutorial but my hair just days out, goes frizzy and turn my head into a mushroom! Any tips? My hair is very fine, should I be using more product? Or do I need my hair trimmed in a certain way?
@@ManForHimself I've been trying the EVO Casual Act Moulding Paste. I have tried following your method but within the first hour the front/top dries out and then after a couple of hours my sides just dry out completely. My hair is quite fine, I'm having several thoughts, not enough product to begin with, regularly applying product throughout the day (which I would prefer to avoid), or is there another way of stopping my hair from drying so quickly? Really keen to get your thoughts.
