+David Frobel Thanks David, they were built specifically for this line, and do an excellent job hauling passengers up those heavily graded and winding lines....The footplate staff, always use the stay at Devils Bridge to give their loco a wipe down to keep them looking in such magnificent condition...Bob
i always wondered what made steam trains so majestic sometimes, maby its because of the way they work, how simple itnis, yet capable of doing amazing things, these are great shots of the trains. when i was 6, i always dreamed kf being behind the throttle of a large locomotive like the big boys, but a personal favorite of mine is the flying Scotsman. huge engine's have a charm to them too, these are lovely trains, warm regards, Anthony N
+Anthony Nguyen I think what fascinated us all is that a steam locomotive, comes alive when in steam, and with the noise and obvious charm of their design, make them a fascinating thing to watch. Scotsman, the most famous loco of them all, is a true star Anthony...Thanks for watching...Bob
Ah that's where you went today Bob! Great choice and super footage with no.9 really putting a delightful display of power and speed. The scenery is beautiful and the part at 4.20 where the train is receding round the curve into the distance is simply stunning! Lovely line well captured, thanks, Ken
+Ken Browne Thanks Ken, we decided to make this trip as the weather forecast was for a fine sunny day, which was ideal for doing this trip. Today, were's back to grey wet conditions!...Best wishes...Bob
That Prince of Wales is a little beauty Bob , lucky you with the weather , rained for most of the day up here , looks a nice area there with a railway to travel on through this scenic countryside , well done hand held getting steadier and steadier , must be all that bike riding ....Dave
+David Howarth They are for ever changing the liveries on their locos Dave, which makes it exciting to see what they've done each year. It's a beautiful line with stunning scenery, and the weather yesterday was just perfect...Back to rain today...so no change there!...Thanks for watching as always....Steady...Bob
Smashing video Bob....No 9 looks in amazing condition. Loved the opening shot on the Bridge and also the contrast between Sun and Shadow at 4:12....really beautiful...Looks like you had a great Day for Weather....Another Bob Masterman Gem....well done..Best wishes...Steve.-:)
+Steve Lewis Video Channel. Thanks Steve, we always try and get up there during this time of year, and we were treated to perfect conditions this year. We also went up Constitution Hill on the cliff railway, and the views of Aber were superb., so all in all a perfect day out....Best wishes as always...Bob
Brilliant video Bob in ideal sunny conditions. Its a lovely scenic line The shots at Aderffrwd were fantastic. There was a few passengers on the train which is good to see this time of year. Regards C&A
+EMuksteam Thanks both, as always it was a last minute decision, but it was a beautiful day, we also went on the Cliff Railway, and came back via Rhyader Sugar Loaf, Llandovery etc...Regards...Bob
A cracking video Bob, I wish I was there right now,I must visit it again soon and finish off the film I started of this line many years ago,not so keen on the black Livery on number 9.........Thanks for sharing this video Bob.....Best wishes Chris.
+wooltman Thanks Chris, this Black livery isn't as attractive as some they've applied to it in the past, still, it all adds to the variety...Best wishes...Bob
+Philbru Production Il s'agit d'un chemin de fer très pittoresque traversant belle Mid Wales... toujours une joie de visiter pendant une journée ensoleillée... POB hwyl... Bob
Very nice video and the weather is looking nice, One thing i will say this narrow gauge railway got to be the nicest line i been on hopefully will be going back on this in 2016, since this railway went private after BR there looks like there been a lot of work has been put into this to get it up to standards
+trainmman It's improving year on year, and they've really brought things on a treat....only two trains each way per day this time of year, but still a treat to see them working, and as it takes an hour from bottom to top, you have the time to capture it a few times en route...Best wishes...Bob
+canvids1 It passes through some stunning scenery on it's way from the Coast up to the summit at Devil's Bridge Wayne. These locos were designed specifically for this line, and have worked it continuously since 1924...Bob
Once again I come home from a 10 hour shift to find another treasure from Wales awaiting …so good to see what has been going on this day and to be captured so brilliantly by you Bob ..that little Prince of Wales locomotive is an absolute star ..do you know when or were it was made at all ? Thanks for capturing the day for us all to enjoy Bob Tom
+Tom Maude Thanks again Tom, for your much appreciated kind remarks. No 9 was built at Swindon Works by the Great Western Railway in 1924...Best wishes...Bob
Is that actually black, or what they call Cambrian Railways "Invisible Green"? So invisible you can't actually see any green. Terrific light at 4:15 just as it disappears round the curve.
+AndreiTupolev Interesting point Andrei, it certainly looks Black in the first clip, but as I had the white balance set on manual for the clips at Devil's Bridge, it has given it a slight hue...I will investigate further...That clip you refer to was a chance capture that I nearly missed walking back to the car!....Best wishes...Bob
A great video Bob, that loco has some power pulling the hill there at the end and so well keped up and clean a nice place to spend a day out,
