This is how you write for kids - educational, entertaining and treating them as equal viewers to adults while retaining childhood innocence and wonder!
Of all the programmes of my childhood it is M, M & M that I remember best and makes me happiest. Mary is very well spoken for a girl living in a 1960s tower block, isn't she?
The lift scene gets me every time. They always work and there's no graffiti. Richard Baker should have read the news with the voices from this:7) 7.52 I wonder if that's where nu metal band Korn got their name from? How can people dislike this? They must be horrible miserable individuals.
Children need to be taught that, what on earth are they teaching children in schools now? Instead of Algebra which nobody uses anymore, cursive writing which is a dyslexic person's worst enemy, religious education which causes a lot of conflicts teach children where food comes from.
I wondered if the chocolate machine was going to jam and Midge would be able to put it right by going inside... Personally, I think that would have made a good story

I adored this when I was a wee thing. That music just made them memories come flooding back, watching it with my mum.
It is a cute cartoon.
Nice to see these again. If only the world were still like that.
Are you joking Neil? The world was never as nice as that :)
lol True.
@@HrhFishI think you must mean people not the world itself, some people are nice granted but though sadly there are nasty people in this world too.

She must be middle-class.
Amazing! Music is excellent.
Yeah. Kids shows these days have these lame trap songs as their music. Talk about a downgrade.
This one was by far my favourite episode! *sigh* I miss being a kid XD
Wow ,what a blast from the past!
Never seen this until now. I have a Brit friend on Facebook who's been introducing me to shows he watched as a kid. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Midge is such a scallywag - this was such a cool children's tv show. Happy days..
Love his cute bow tie
Just read that Richard Baker passed on. Very sad to hear.
rip
Also mungo & midge
SMOKES in the on-street vending machine? Different times indeed!
Me and my son watch Mary mungo and midge some times at night
the good old days tv.
The tower block has eight floors but the lift only goes to seven.
RIP Richard Baker.
Also mungo & midge.
The lift always worked, wasn't covered in graffiti, and it didn't stink of piss.
They never got stuck in it either
This was made before chav culture took off.
@@Werten25Would have been very difficult and expensive to draw by hand too.
The lift where I live sometimes smells vile.
@@eleanorhogan8643 I suppose.

Trolls.
LOVE your comment !
Goung to be honest, I found something pretty funny about Midge just casually releasing all the milk cartoons from the machine.
A dog that does the shopping!!!🐶🐾🛍
Delightful stuff. I love the jolly theme tune, but I always found Mungo a bit scary as a kid.😀
Ian Strange you should see what they all look like on the dvd cover. Jesus they look terrifying but still love the show!
To be fair this was all done by hand.
very lovely
lovely
Wish there was a channel which showed old 60s 70s and 80s kids TV show
Thankfully a lot of them are on youtube. x
This has all come around again where kids don't know milk comes from cows & eggs from chickens ......... great ep by the way

I wonder how many children watching this said "No, I live in the city" or "I live in the country"
I wondered if the chocolate machine was going to jam and Midge would be able to put it right by going inside...
