This is just a modern slum. Who still designs house so congested like this as its a university hostel? Good for renting, but horrible as a home to raise children without negative behaviors from 500 other possible indisciplined children.
The 500 other children could be the disciplined ones to straighten your indisciplined child. If you don't like it, just stay out. For many others, this is a major upgrade from where they currently are. Also different people balance current and future lifestyles they may want to live differently. Affordability may be important to some people whereas it might not matter to others. While some people sacrifice a bit of the present comfort for a better future, others live fully in the present regardless of the future. Those are choices different people make differently. The flats enjoy almost 100% occupancy because they have responded well to the needs of a niche in the market. Kenya has variety. So you settle where you choose. The selling point for these flats is affordability. If you are driven more by extras, just go to Muthaiga and such like neighbourhoods. There is variety to suit different tastes and pockets. I live in a similar one in Beijing road mlolongo and it's great, everyone minds their business, you make it sound like Kenyans have no manners. Kids socialize very well and are much happier and safer. Regular people such accountants, teachers, nurses, lawyers, gym instructors etc are mostly out busy working and there are rules that govern how people live with one another. There is good neighborliness. Don't hate on something that you've not experienced, besides it better than Kibera slums, umoja, dandora, Zimmerman etc and it's affordable for those who can manage to raise 2.9 million, that's why I a mere teacher bought it and don't regret for 1 sec, it was a struggle but I thank God I have a roof over my head and don't have to worry about rent and security. The ones you fancy go for 20 million and above and they are also available.

The flickering in the images is as a result of using a low quality camera. That's why it can't handle bright light resulting to dark shadows.
Lights flickering has nothing to do with the camera quality, the artificial lights in the room is inconsistent cos I used higher fps.
