So many guys on here who are gone now 😞 Lance Russell, Corey Maclin, Mabel, Brian Christopher, and Scott Bowden. Also, special shoutout to Brickhouse Brown as well. You all are missed. man
How about Tojo Yamamoto and P.Y. Chu-hi aka Phil Hickerson. I think The Beast Mark Goooolean passed recently as well....and his partner Beauty aka Terrance Garvin. Still one of my favorite angles ever was the face turn of NOT Terrance Garvin but of Terry Simms in the GWF.
I know. Scott was a great guy, I miss him too. Anytime I'd show him one of my cartoons depicting classic Memphis Wrestling moments he'd immediately throw them up on the internet. So easy to work with, shocked me when he passed because he never really grew up, but in a good way. He was born to be a wrestling manager. If he was born ten years earlier he would have been a great replacement for jimmy hart when he joined the McMahon circus in 1985.
Kris, I praised you for these shows you've posted, just yesterday...ty again amigo.. u can see where WWE got their 💡.. it's so obvious..pre attitude era..Bill Dundee/Randy Hales segments are Gold! Like Stone Cold/ Vince angles...just my synopsis.. Happier than an Indian on Payday.. Outlaw Memphis Wrestling TV! The HeadBangers!!
I noticed that Jesse James Armstrong had the words "New Age Outlaw" on the back of his tights. This was a full two years before the famous tag team of the same name with Billy Gunn would debut in the WWF. I'm not familiar with Armstrong's work in Memphis, was this his nickname in Memphis in the 1990's?
Bill had to scrap and earn his keep on television.. Australia wasn't cutting it so Jim Barnett brought Bill over to the States, and boy did he shine! He was the underdog, the guy who was always too small for the carnival rides... small in stature, Bill put on more muscle and was quickly working his way through the Territories! He's wrestled everyone who was anyone in wrestling during the 70s and 80s.. And he was annoying as all hell....! He was like the fly who evades the fly swatter upon every swipe! So damn annoying
I thought Randy's speech impediment was due to his drug use in the late 90's and early 2000's. I guess I was wrong, the speech impediment was always there! It's only gotten worse as he's gotten older. There's a shoot interview that Hales did a few years back and every other sentence was highlighted with "uhhhhh"
I've heard murmurs of Randy having a Crack Cocaine habit towards the end of USWA, months leading up to the defunction.. But besides that, Randy was TV GOLD! I mean, look at him! Big, lanky, goofy looking dork who looks like he couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper bag for Christmas sakes!! Randy fit right in down there in Mempho..
I agree with Scott Bowden---the Headbangers were "indie outlaw mudshow"-types. They made everywhere they went worse for them having been there! I'll never forget when they won the WWF tag team titles, I thought: "Is this how far the WWF has stooped? Putting the belts on these losers?" They were not a worthy legacy to Steiner Brothers, the British Bulldogs, the Hart Foundation and others who had those tag belts. Heck, they weren't even worthy to tie their shoelaces!

Randy Hales common sense....ahhhhh, jk, jk..... Randy Hales NEVER had any of that.

This looks like it's in the 80s and not in 96 as stated on the video
The Headbangers have music on during their match. New Jack would be pissed off if he saw and heard this.,

New age outlaw was his nickname in uswa
Dundee, same height as Samantha. Lol.
#1 reason why I’ll never understand how he was ever taken seriously 🤣

Some folks just don't get it!!
