This is The Good Old Days!!!! What a time to be a wrestling fan!!!!
The latest episode of What Happened When with Tony Schiavone brought me here.
The commercials are a nice touch. 👍
Yeah the old time commercials are cool.
@@markaustin2474 Memphis Wrestling partly died when Jimmy Hart ❤️ left ◀️ there.
im getting lost watching this, such great times every sat morning at 12.
This brings back childhood memories, every Saturday
Me too. I was always in front of the TV Saturday mornings
This brings memories , on May 11th of 1985 I turned 19 years old , I watched these matches with my friends as we are Cake 🎂! 😂
Lance Russell played a huge part of wrestling.
One of the best ever. Rest in peace ✌️ Lance Russel.
HOF material
@@drgwhatsthetruth3783 I hope so 😀.
Lance paved the way for Gorilla Monsoon, Mean Gene and Good ol, JR Jim Ross. If it wasn't for him they never would have even existed
Bruiser brody was nuts
Savage couldn't quite make it as a baseball player...I think his choice as a wrestler...was a good one
44:09 - Bill Dotson and Aunt Eloise of WMC79 AM Radio in a Self-Service Furniture commercial. This is funny.
This announcer doesn't know a backdrop from a body slam
One month later macho Man Randy Savage debuted in the WWF
Before Mabel there was Kareem Muhammad
The Hank guy who later sang the Monday Night Football show, is singing his first version of that song on Billy Dundee's highlights.
Can I have a Billy of my very own to dress up?!?!! He was too adorable.
I think Mr wrestling was Tommy Gilbert Right here in the match with Tim Ashley
That was Tommy Gilbert as Mr. Wrestling in a mask
Hmmm? Never see The Spoiler & Frank Morrell at the same time. lol
No Morrell wasn’t that agile.
@@taylorcrouse668 But it WAS Frank Morrell. He later retired on screen and took his mask off. He retired and became a referee in that on screen moment. Timothy Burns was being funny. 😂😂😂
@@taylorcrouse668 Morrell was Memphis Spoiler. Don Jardine was the more well known Spoiler.
@@TerrickTerranThe masked jobbers use to irritate me because they put so little effort into their names. How many Spoilers, Assassins and Super Destroyers existed in the 80’s?
So bruiser brody did wrestle randy savage at !east once. Such a shame he never met hulk hogan
David Haskins Jerry Lawlers twin brother lol
Jimmy Hart used to always hurl the insult at David Haskins that he went to “the Jerry Lawler school of wrestling.” 😂😂😂
Other than Jimmy Hart & Jim Cornette, seems like none of the Memphis managers stood out. Nothing but no-talents coming out and shouting as loud as they could.
And downtown Bruno. That’s not bad from one area. Not many territories could boast having 2 of the top 5 managers of all time with Bruno as icing.
I always liked Tux Newman. He wasnt there very long, but I enjoyed watching him at the time. It's impossible to replace Jimmy Hart and even A very young Cornette at the time. Those were huge shoes to try and fill
Downtown Bruno, Ronnie Gossett, Richard Lee, Brother Ernest Angel, Paul Dangerously and Scott Bowden did a good job. Not everyone after Jimmy Hart was Nate the Rat and Boss Winders. Having said that...Jimmy Hart was irreplaceable.
Jerry oski was a tough competitor
He looks like the British Bulldog here. That's who I thought it was at first
I had never heard of him and I knew everyone that came through the area
@@geodeuceme neither dude. Looked him up, Rip ‘95. Wasn’t much on mic, had the look though, moved ok.
@@chadcox9311 He was one of the best WWF enhancement talents that they had in the late 80s. Sad that he died.
Haskins is awesome
Whatever happened to Jerry Oske?
He passed away In December, 1995
He slipped on a ice patch and struck his head. And this is ny wife's account.
RIP Jerry Arotsky 1963 - 1995
I remember Jerry I believe PWI rated his title win against Savage was the biggest upset in wrestling that year. Rip Jerry Oski 32 yrs old very young.
That is not the Spoiler. I know most of you on here know that. Don Jardine was the Spoiler so I am wondering if anybody knows who this imposter was?

Frank Morrell
The Spoiler in the Memphis area during the 80s was later revealed to be Frank Morell. He and Phil Hickerson were a tag team for a while in the 80s and, if I remember right, he unmasked himself one day on the tv program and did a face turn. He wrestled unmasked for a little while before retiring to become a referee the rest of his career.
Typical Mcmahon Jerry now Allen brought in from the territories and made him a job guy what a waste.
I thought it was the hulk is coming promo by Brutus. God that qwas awful
Lawler called Muhammad a monkey? Yikes...
Jerry Lawler called Kareem Muhammad a big monkey🤔......That's was so racist
Memphis got away with a lot of that. There was an episode where Kareem Muhammad took over the Jerry Lawler show and said some pretty racist things himself. He interviewed Jerry Jarrett and Tojo and referred to Tojo as a "chenk" saying "when I was in Vietnam I used to shoot at chenks like you." Jarrett interrupted him to scold him before Muhammad said, "what? They all look alike." I am sure the video of that is on UA-cam as well.
From a time when people weren't hypersensitive and professional complainers.
You gave back what you got back then and everyone went away happy.
At least that's how I imagine it to be it was before my time lol
