You are so inspiring. I am also currently working in the mental health field a little over 5 years now, but your videos have me up at all times of the night. I actually bought a Brothers SE400 sewing machine around 5 or 6 years ago. I tried making a shoulder bag for my mom. She took it to church and the stitch came apart causing her to lose her $10. I became busy with my full time job and taking care of my daughter that I put it on the backburner until recently when my church started offering free sewing classes. I got "sew" excited again. I immediately took out my sewing supplies that I had packed up in Ziploc bags and started using them again, using techniques I learned in the sewing class. Somehow, I came across your UA-cam videos and I can't stop watching them. I now want to make a messenger bag and bags with zippers and side pockets. I even bought another sewing machine and a serge machine!! Now, because of you, I'm thinking about getting the Brother Strong & Tough ST150HDH machine. Thank you for being sharing your creative and artistic gifts and allowing your gifts to be shared with the masses. You Rock!!
So glad he is getting the recognition he deserves! I’ve learned so much from him already and my hobby has become a small business during this pandemic.
So yes it can be done and without alot of money.

@@TockCustom hey there. I love your tutorials. As someone just getting into sewing and embroidery; which machine can you recommend? I want something that has the digital display but that’s not overly expensive

Thank you for sharing your experience, you're a inspiration that got me back to sewing again after not touch a sewing machine for 20+ years.
As I'm retired I need some other hobby beside my photography so I've started out small with a Brother Strong & Tough machine.
What a power horse that sewing machine is, I've had no problem sew up and fix my old thick leather jacket and it's good as new again.

I love how you have a keyboard in your sewing space. Like, you are in the middle of sewing and suddenly feel the need to break into a song? Or just passing the time while the embroidery machine is doing its thing? :D (but seriously your workshop is amazing, so well planned out and inspiring)
I often play songs and sing while I'm broadcasting my workshop live. Or yes, just playing some songs while taking breaks is nice :)
@@TockCustom haha brilliant, maybe I'll keep my guitar handy while sewing so that I can stop and take a step back when I get flustered. But then again playing guitar can get me all flustered too, so maybe I'll stick to sewing :)

Been watching for a couple of months and subscribed almost immediately. But today realised Notifications are switched off. When I tried to switch them, UA-cam told me they're not available as your videos are classified as 'Made for Kids' ?!! There are some very talented kids out there, but I wouldn't have thought making elaborate cosplay costumes, tailoring, etc., were 'made for kids' content!
