Always use the O.E.M Oil filter. I have been working on bikes for over 30yrs and own a dealership.

You should also fill your oil filter before installing as to prevent vital components being without oil even for a fraction of a second as otherwise it must draw it into the filter ..nice bike

The bike was painted by the previous owner, he did a half decent job, but up close it has its flaws. I loved it regardeless, and as far as keeping it clean, I never wash it! Just wipe it down once in a while 🤣

Question. I have a 01 gsxr 600 and I was just out riding with my cousin. My oil light came on and the code F1. My oil level is halfway in between F and L. I read some forums where the filter may be over tightened but I've ridden quite a bit after my last oil change and haven't had problems till now. I pulled over and let the bike rest for a few mins and turned the bike on and the light went off
What did the bike do when the light came on?
Is the drain bolt reverse threads?
It's not, but I can only speak for North American models
