I have enjoyed your seaside/boat demos, but this is the first still life that I've seen. It's just as wonderful! I appreciate your process and your calm! Thank you!
You still life’s are beautiful! Thank you for your excellant video❤️I think this one is my favorite, you didn’t over work. It looks juicy and I love your application of thick paint.
So nice to see a still life. Lots of diversity recently... Landscape, seascape / boats, portrait and this still live. Excellent. It still always amazes me, even after all these years how much thought goes on, that you share with us, about the shadow, shape, colours, negative space. It's always such a lovely story with a brilliant ending! Well done ff ❤️
Hello Clare, I followed your journey from Switzerland to England via France and I loved all your paintings. Today's is also very successful, full of freshness and luminosity. Congratulations to you ! Have a good week.
I do like your still life setups, some very pretty props too. You do say sunlight in your commentary....wo der if it is sunlight or skylight looks rather steady. Watched a couple of your demos..very nice indeed. Many thanks
I’m so glad I found your channel love your painting techniques ❤ love the loose beautiful brushstrokes your tutorials are very helpful please do more still life xx ❤
Hi Clare a very nice stills painting, Not that I would do stills, but nice to watch colours went well with the fruit and towel. best wishes Christine and Ken xxx
Your channel was recommended by UA-cam. I watched this video and I must say you have a personal style. Congratulations and keep going. Setting up a still life is al ways a challenge trying to get the lights and shadows right. You are brave! ❤ One thing I notices is the two pears together. I mention this because I learned many years ago the meaning of ‘kissing’ in art. I was suggested to never place two objects together, they should be entirely apart or overlapped. I believe when objects are overlapping, they give more character to a painting. I haven’t found much info about it, but now I’m cautious. May be you can check about it. I would love to hear your thoughts about it. New subscriber! You provide lots of inspiration. Blessings and take care.❤
Hi Crisalida, thank you very much for watching and for your thoughts. I agree you do have to be careful of ‘kissing’ objects to make them work as a composition. I wanted them all on the same plain. I appreciate your input. With best wishes, Clare
I love your still life paintings; they are very artistic. I’m an amateur watercolourist but I find this video and your other video painting a lemon very inspiring :)
My colours are: Titanium, lemon yellow, cad yellow, yellow ochre, scarlet lake, permanent rose, Viridian, cerulean, cobalt, ultramarine, burnt Sienna, raw umber. I hope this is helpful! 🎨
@@ClareBowenArtist Thank you for your quick answer. I wonder if you can explain more in depth why you use permanent rose and scarlet lake ( I mean, alizarin seems to be a more common option ). Thank you in advance.
regarding wet on wet doesn't the under layer have a tendency to blend altogether. Or there must be a skill in layering was it all wet each time you put a brush mark down.
Hi Susie good question! Putting thicker paint over thinner. Plus angling the brush parallel with the board helps not drag the under layer up. Hope that’s clear. Happy painting!
Hi Clare! Cheers from Texas. I just have a quick question. I've noticed a little "L" shaped trough on you pallets (studio and Plein air). It looks like a simple PVC corner guard or similar wall trim. But could you clarify what it is and why you use it if have a moment.
This was such a great video!! I’m learning so much from you Clare! Thank you so very much!!🎨🖌️💕

I’m primarily a landscape artist but want to paint more still life’s. This is quite helpful. Thank you for this demo. ❤
You are most welcome Tony, thank you!❤️
I've often wondered if a landscape is actually just a still life of sorts?
I'm a total beginner and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this video! Thank you so much from Vermont in the USA!
Oh that is so nice to hear thank you Irene, I hope may enjoy my other videos too ☺️🎨
Good luck with your painting!

What size brushes are you using
Hi Colleen! The brushes I use mainly are Rosemary & Co Ultimate Bristle long and short flats! 👩🏻🎨❤️
Did you have a light on the still life
I had natural light - a large window to the right of it :-)
I enjoyed the video~ You do a lot of oil painting using a bristle brush. Do you do glazing afterwards? When do I want to see it too?
Hello, I use a bristle brush for the bigger areas and nylon for the small / detail parts. I don’t glaze 😊
@@ClareBowenArtist That's right~ There's no other meaning I was just curious~ I'm enjoying watching
Did you wait for it to dry in between while doing the layers
Hi Susie, no I didn't, I painted wet on wet in one go :-)

Hello Scott, it’s called a Palette Garage from the USA. Mine is an 14” you can order them from Great Art Tools. Best Clare 😊🎨
@@ClareBowenArtist Thank you, love your work.
لوحة جميلة جدا
Thank you Remon Hatah!🙏❤️

I am sorry but I cannot add subtitles Turkish or otherwise! I am a painter not a videographer!👩🏻🎨🎨
