Hannah Hidalgo is often overlooked by the ESPN hype machine owing to her conservative values and open Christian background, something she takes pleasure in. Unfortunately, people who cover women's basketball are not thrilled about this. They won't be able to ignore her for long, since she has the potential to be the best collegiate player in women's basketball. On the court, she is persistent and a fierce opponent; off the court, she is a charming young girl.
@ Three of those ladies are really good. Check out Olivia Miles and Sonia Citron. Both are coming out in the next draft. The Sky want Miles and hopefully Citron goes 8 and The Fever can get her.
There's a bunch of talented role players in college, which isn't a bad thing. However, these media people want to find the next generational megastar and almost disregard the organically grown impact of Caitlin Clark.
I think many of the media are looking so hard for someone to come up being way better than CC. But they won’t find one. CC just has the talent and grit to remain super special!
I wish they’d stop trying to force JuJu on everyone. Media needs to let the public let this happen organically. If she’s forced down our throats it’s more repellent than anything else. She is a sweet young lady and has the potential to go far. We just need to let JuJu be who she was meant to be instead of comparing her to CC…..
Agree with you about Hannah’s impact on both end of the court, but as Hannah herself said after the game, Sonia Citron deserves a lot of credit for how she defended Juju.
I watched the USC vs Notre Dame game. Hidalgo was the star of that one for Notre Dame. Miles put the nails in late with some threes and dishes. Juju Watkins was better late in the contest, but terrible early while Notre Dame built its lead, bad shooting and turnovers. Iriafin was nearly invisible. Overall, it was a messy game, much sloppier than I expected. As for Watkins, I can see the talent, but it's certainly raw at this point. Hannah Hidalgo was a joy to watch.
Hidalgo was immense in that game. She has an immense desire to compete and win. USC do not appear to have a established game plan and I expect them to get exposed againt other top 8 sides.
Hidalgo is just a joy to watch. Her energy and commitment on both sides is infectious. BUT she is very small. If she would be 3 inches taller, I think she would be a clear cut Superstar in the WNBA. But at 5'6... we have to wait and see how her game will translate to the WNBA.
If she is physically strong and quick, these will give her an advantage over taller players as their centre of gravity changes when defending shorter players and make them clumsy and off balance. See how she goes.
@@Toni-oy5gu The saying "you cant teach height" doesnt come from nowhere. Yes, you can overcome some deficits, no question. But you will allways be on a disadvantage if it comes to contesting opponents jumpers, or getting your own shot off against longer opponents. There is just a limit to what you can achieve as a small guard who is the best player on your team. Look at CP3. Elite all time playmaker, efficient scorer, 9 time NBA all defense... sure fire 1st ballot HOF'er. Never even reached the CF as a Franchise player. Only as a 2nd option next to a bigger guard (Harden 6'6, Booker 6'6) he reached the CF or even finals.
Giving Juju grace but w/all eyes on her, the pressure, imo, got in her head. ESPN wants her to be CC 2.0 & won’t be giving ANY airtime to anyone else but Juju & Paige. Sad; just sad. The difference between them, Hannah came to play. Lots of games left for BOTH of them. Just hope they all stay healthy ❤️🩹
I dont think the media understand what generational talent means, while i fully respect JuJu and indeed Paige lets all understand they are and never will be CC, thanks for the video, as an aside can we get your book in the uk?
Yes, folks need to stop setting Juju up for failure because she will never be the elite, versatile, generational, popular, & crossover athlete that Clark is.
There's only 2 ways this debate goes away, 1 if Juju comes out and says she's not better than Caitlin or 2 she just falls on her face in comparison to Caitlin hopefully Juju chooses option 1 it will earn her a lot of respect
Thanks for the upload. The comparison was very interesting. Only heard the hype about JuJu and her being faster to 1,000 points than CC. Actually thought JuJu played a different position because all I really remember hearing was about her size. I see she is classed as a Point guard/Shooting guard rather than just a Point guard like Hannah and CC. I'm now for Hannah given her size, she is the underdog IMO, whereas JuJu has clearly been chosen by the anointed.
They need to stop trying to compare these young girls to Caitlin Clark you won’t be another cc for 10 to 20 years. She’s a once in a generational player and you won’t see another player like her for a long time and I think it’s a disservice to these young girls where their confidence isn’t yet strong enough.
Adrienne, let's be blunt. Hannah is an Evangelical, heterosexual, family-oriented, non- woke young woman. Espn and lamestream media and the powers that be will not promote her play. They just won't.
There will be no another Caitlin again, her impact and her game along with her personality is just different. She has has that starcappeal, that aura like MJ has, many great players played, many great player are in the league now, many will come, but they will not have the same impact CC had. It's like there's MJ, then Kobe, Iverson, Shaq, Lebron, KD, Curry came but they didn't have the same appeal, same impact. Jordan became their bar in comparison like they are doing now with Caitlin.

Interesting commentary. You should be a sports announcer Adrienne. You’re definitely better than some of the commentaries out there. So Hidalgo looks for the dribble between the leg (CC ‘s favorite move). Wonder how well HH would implement this same tactic against Clark. I will definitely keep an eye out for HH.
I agree with you, JuJu needs more time, and needs to grow eyes in the back of her head when Hannah or another player studies her moves, just waiting to take the ball from behind her back, it looked like Hannah has been watching her play, and found the way of stealing the ball, JuJu has to learn like Caitlin did, not to dribble behind the back when there's an opponent still behind you or knows your moves, JuJu has three years to learn some tricks, if she stays focused.
The media are hungry to manufacture new rivalries to drive clicks and eyeballs. It's exhausting. Whenever such comparisons are made, it invites people to diminish one player in order to elevate the other. I hate seeing McNutt and her ilk provoking these debates that invite people to bash 19-year-olds.
@@theadriennerossshow But it's not just sport competition with McNutt. Her argument is not strictly player a vs player b. She has a slant, a bias, and it's paramount in her analysis.

I’d wish people would stop comparing Caitlin to JuJu and Paige it’s getting old it takes a team to win a game not just one person team worker like Caitlin does she passes the ball and a great lady.
First, Snoop is awesome!!! Agree let JuJu be JuJu. None of these players should be compared to Caitlin. Juju needs to shut out the noise and just play free. Juju is a beautiful young lady with a great future. Also very kind and humble. Hannah and Olivia played amazingly. Hannah still too young to go to the WNBA but teams are really scouting Olivia. Paige is also under a lot of pressure. Imao Geno is trying to push Paige to play like Caitlin. Afraid she might get hurt. Paige needs to play her own game. Paige is awesome but plays different style than CC. All these players getting ready to go to the WNBA need to shut out the noise and enjoy playing college basketball. These young players have so much to deal with these days. In some ways, it's a great time for them, but in others, wooo...it's pressure that others before them didn't have.
JuJu also struggled with her shot against UConn in the Elite Eight back in April. She scored 29 but nine of those points came from the line. JuJu likes to drive and create contact, utilizing her size. The Caitlin comparison never was a good one because JuJu is neither a deep shooter nor an assist machine.
