Losing by 23 points against a 9-1 team will cost you 5 places (Indiana), but losing by 21 points against and unranked team with 5 losses will cost you only 6 places (Bamacare). In what freaking realm does that make any sense??
In a realm where the schedule strength favors Alabama in spades. Indiana played a weak schedule and feasted on bad teams. They got exposed. If you matched Alabama up with Indiana it wouldn't be close, Alabama would beat them easily. I hate Alabama, but they're far more talented. Should they get in with 3 losses? Nope. But they're still better than a one loss Indiana if they played tomorrow.
@@BTD28man stop smoking. Alabama wins when they’re great. they don’t see osu unless they’re great, Alabama never plays osu when they’re mediocre because obviously they don’t make the playoffs. Simple, if Alabama played osu over the last several seasons osu wins most of them.
I think Kirby as more motivation ammunition for this SEC Championship game than he ever has. All he has to do is point to last year where they were left out of the playoff for losing the SEC Championship game and say "don't leave it in the hands of the committee again." He doesn't even have to play the everyone is doubting us game this time.
9:13 Georgia did NOT blow the breaks off Tennessee. It was a competitive game till the end. Georgia scored late, increasing a 1 score lead. Tennessee was 2 drops from winning.. Thats the thing about Tennessee, There was no game they were dominated in. If you watch the games you'd see that Tennessee mistakes, at crucial times, is what caused them to lose. Id take Tennessee at home or a neutral sight game vs ANY playoff team. Can you imagine a night playoff game in Neyland.
We must have watched a different game. I never once thought Tennessee was gunna come back when I was watching. Something about the environment just didn’t seem close
UGA spotted Tennessee 10 early points and then were outscored 31-7 for essentially 3 quarters. The game was closer than it actually felt. felt like UGA controlled the entire game
Tennessee was driving to tie the game with six minutes left. They were at, what, the UGA 35 with 6 minutes left? Georgia did what they needed to the next drive but saying it wasn't a close game is revisionist history. @@bohdanleniuk

Now I am not arguing with you, but there was four teams if you want to call them that we dominate. Then there was N. Carolina St. that everyone thought was a good team. We controlled that game. Oklahoma we did well. Alabama we were on vacation until the 3rd quarter. Nico starts late, and Heupel protects him like it’s in Nico’s NIL contract. That conservative play calling got to stop starting with Vandy. We have another 5 start giddyup
Welcome back JD! Hope the family is well but it’s good to have you back sir. Congratulations! Skattebo is the most underrated player in college football. He should be in New York South Carolina will be boxed out by Bama and Ole Miss who also have 3 losses and beat them
Does that thinking extend to Oregon for barely beating Wisconsin? Which one has zero losses? Penn State would lose to Oregon at Autzen. Maybe not in Happy Valley in Beaver stadium. No pun intended. But they played reasonably well enough that I trust them over a few two loss SEC teams
Go take look at the current College Football Playoff rankings, the AP Poll & the Coaches Poll & you will see that 1-loss Penn State is ranked #4 in ALL 3 rankings.
Why does the narrative continue that Georgia "beat the brakes off Tennessee "? The game I watched had them trailing 10-0, Tennessee was driving for the tying score in the 4th, then got stopped and Georgia scored with 2 minutes or so left to put it away. At home. Hardly a domination.
This particular take on the matter Essentially gives almost no credence to strength of schedule. 3 losses to top 25 teams, is way better than 1 loss to a garbage program. And i don't give a crap about "every team can have an off day" there's no chance that Indiana could beat S Carolina, especially on a neutral field. But Hopsiers get in because they have a cupcake schedule. Give me a break.
GA didn’t beat the breaks off of TN!! Hard to win on the road, with 8min to go it’s a one score game. Refs bailed them out three times. TN win the first two quarters on the road!! Go Vols!!!
@@hunterjohnson7092 UGA had more total yards, more passing yards, more yards per play, and the interesting thing is total plays UGA-71 UT-72. Time of possession UGA had just over a minute more. That’s pretty much a blow out
James Franklin is 12-25 against top 25 teams, meaning if Penn state played South Carolinas schedule he would be on pace for 3-4 losses based on probability.
I wish I could take that bet. Bama couldn't score on oklahoma how the F you think Bama would do in playoffs vs penn st at beaver stadium in shitty weather? If they got a TD be a miracle.
Any of the top 3 teams in the SEC can win it all. The SEC usually wins against the Big10 in the big games so until the Big10 consistently starts beating the SEC in the big ones I will stick with an SEC team.
Carolina will humiliate Clemson at Clemson and end their season unless they then win the craptastic ACC. This will further emphasize how ridiculous it is that conference Champions get automatic bids. If Carolina crushed Clemson, there is not a CFB fan on earth that wants to see Clemson in the playoff. Same goes for Indiana.
Those teams become first round rollovers for the other team, although I wish Bama was better we’re just not so better to not make it in then to get embarrassed in the playoffs

I sure hope not but if Tn is not taking Vanderbilt dead seriously. They will lose. This is Vandy’s biggest game of the year. Their bowl game/Super Bowl and grudge match all in one.
The big winner at each conference is going to be the #3 team as they avoid the extra game of a conference championship and are likely to host a playoff game. The big loser is the loser of their conference game as they have to play 2 extra games and likely won't host a playoff game. System is broken and I don't see where a conference championship game helps anyone but the broadcast networks

While Arizona State has beaten teams that were ranked and if they win out and win the B12 championship they would've beaten another top ranked team.
I agree notre dame if they want to continue to not join a conference better schedule a hella strong schedule to get respect they didn’t do that. Join a conference or go play someone otherwise shut up you haven’t earned any respect
@Mattmusic11111111 Actually, Notre Dame DID schedule tough, as they always do. They set up what should have been at least 4 big games: Texas A&M away, USC away & Florida State (both normally powerhouses; not ND’s fault they suck this year), and had scheduled Miami this season too…but Miami chickened out & bought themselves out of the contracted game last minute (again, not ND’s fault). And they scheduled teams like Louisville and Georgia Tech, who haven’t been cupcakes over the last decade either.
Non SEC fan here, but it is a testament to the strength of the SEC that there are so many “upsets”. You don’t see the equivalent of that happening in the other conferences because the gap is so large. It’s not to say a team like GA is better than Ohio State, but the possibility of them being upset is much stronger

There is a plausable scenario where each of the power 4 conferences are won by new teams to the conference. Big10 with Oregon ACC with SMU, SEC with Texas and Big12 with Arizona State. Crazy
To the sec homers out there no a 3 loss sec school doesn’t deserve a bid over a one loss other school . No vandy and Oklahoma aren’t that good and shitting the bed against them doesn’t deserve passes.
Indiana ahead of Notre Dame is straight blasphemous. What’s Indianas top wins vs NDs? And Notre Dame has played a tougher schedule with 4 wins over ranked opponents!!!!
So, if Texas A&M beats Texas, who plays UGA for the SEC title? Do you set a floor for Texas and have them play UGA as a 2 seed? Do you bump A&M through the roof to play UGA? Does UGA rematch Tennessee based on rankings and conference record? This season is insane!

Well, the Bama loss SC suffered looks even worse now. I myself think they are good enough to be in it but there seems to be a 2 loss cut off unless you were to win your conference. If they won't put Bama in with 3 losses, they won't put SC in with 3 losses. Maybe that changes when we go to 14 or 16 playoff.

@@gwhite7136Indiana gets a pass because they lost some points on special teams, but they still field a competitive roster that plays tough. South Carolina fields a good team with arguably more talented athletes, but they had special teams errors in both Alabama and LSU that caused them to lose by less than 5 combined points. I think Indiana and SC are comparable teams and both should get in. Unfortunately I think poor officiating early in the year keeps SC out
Not making it with 3 losses. Sorry. And what makes it worse is that the LSU game was without a doubt stolen from them, so they should be 9-2. At least they can end Clemson’s farce of a season this weekend.
I agree with this pretty much, main differences are I think Notre Dame should be slightly higher than Indy. They had a horrible loss to NIU but beat more rank teams by a big margin and that quarterback is good. And drop Penn State a few spots they are fraudulent.
People say that the loss to NIU was horrible/unexcusible/worst loss… honestly yeah it was a bad loss against a not good team, but it wasn’t THAT bad. I would rather lose to a bad team by a field goal or less early in the season than lose multiple games especially if you get blown out (Alabama, Clemson, Tennessee)

Indiana ahead of Notre Dame at this point is ridiculous. Indiana would be a 14 point underdog against ND right now. Goofy take. ND should be #4 right now. How could you put them at 9? 60 of 62 AP voters have them higher than you.
@ Goofball. ND leads college football in defensive stop rate. Leads in pass defense. Leads in takeaways. The only team that is top 10 in every defensive category. 2nd in winning point margin over the last two months. Best rushing offense in the country. Since September, they have averaged almost 44 while giving up under 11. They may be the best team. They definitely have been playing the best. Remember, they started the season by losing their left tackle. They filled in with a freshman. They lost their right guard. They lost their center Their QB was coming from another school and recovering from surgery. He missed the spring. They lost their best defender and future 1st rounder. They lost their edge. Then they lost his backup. They lost their 1st team pre-season all American DL. And what did they do? They steamrolled everyone. And they have been doing it without their starters on the field for the 4rh quarter. NOBODY wants to play ND right now.
@@billwalsh9149 what’s crazy is I was watching college game day 2 weeks ago and nick saban himself said ND looks really good and out of all the playoff teams that’s not the one I’d wanna play right now. I think it’s understandably difficult for people to take ND seriously based off of recent history, but Jesus they are going to pound town right now and it’s gonna snowball right into the playoffs
@ Yeah. People need to forget the past. NIL has changed everything. Look at Texas. They recently had a 13 year stretch with one 10-win season. Then NIL happened and they won 12 last year. And they already have 10 this season. Coincidence? No. Notre Dame was always the unathletic team with a good O line and tight ends. Those days are over. Combine Freeman’s recruiting with NIL and they are a different thing now. They have elite athletes all over the field. They are fast. And they hit hard. Watch them play and you will see that somebody on the other team is down hurt every few plays late in the game. And they aren’t playing dirty. Violent. But clean. They were decimated by injuries. New players have stepped up. It would be a mistake to underestimate them.
Okay, this playoff business should be very simple. It should go one of two ways. Either conferences matter or they don’t. If they matter; make ten or twelve reasonable sized conferences, take all the champs then finish out the brackets with at large picks from one or a combination of polls. If conferences don’t matter( my personal preference); select the top sixteen teams and let them play. Easy-peasy. Nope. @Brownguy342 Not like this.
@@gregjames9875Sure thing buddy. I love that the only thing that gives you hope is shitty weather. It's not the superpower you think it is. I've been to Ohio in January, I didn't shutdown and die.
Go ask NFL teams like Philly how much they like SEC players
If boise state loses to UNLV, they'd have 2 losses: 1 to UNLV and 1 to Oregon. Who else has 1 loss to UNLV? SMU. Worth considering a 12 seed for a team in that scenario.
NO 3-loss teams in the playoffs.........EVER.
If you get to a conference Championship and lose giving you 3 loses, you deserve a spot in the playoffs
@@garyroenicke2102 nope. what you're suggesting means wins and losses don't matter.
@@garyroenicke2102 so UNLV should get in with a loss?
There's a chance with AUTOBIDS where depending on how things play out THREE 3 loss teams could make it in.
Clempson with a loss to USCe, but win the ACC
TAMU wins the SECCG
big12 CCG could still get a 3 loss team in.
You're welcome for getting all conferences included, no matter what!
If Tennessee is in then Clemson should be in if they beat S. Carolina. SMU should be above Mia. and Ga. If Clemson, Mia. SMU wins out in the regular season and no matter who wins in ACCCG, all three should be in. Act like the SEC is good, rivalry week will tell a lot. LV vs Kentucky/ Clemson vs S. Carolina/ Florida vs FSU and GA. vs GT. Still a wait and see what happens the final week of regular season play. Time to be honest.
Clemson will probably lose to SC
And tech will lose to Georgia, Florida state blows this year, Kentucky is not bad that’ll be a good one…the Carolina Clemson game will be must watch tv
Clemson has played 2 Top 25 teams and got beat down by both. TN beat 3 ranked teams. Your way off on that one. SC is going to beat the brakes off of Clemson!
No three lost team should be in the CFP.
AUTOBIDS
Clempson loses to USCe, Miami loses to Syracuse, Clempson beats SMU in the ACCCG. 3 loss team is in
TAMU beats TX, TAMU beats UGA in the SECCG, TAMU in as a 3 loss team.
Everyone wanted the hand out autobids. You're welcome! This system of soft handouts is broken
Like what you said about Miami.....it's personnel and execution
Gimme Boise at Neyland in a playoff game lmao. Vols by 50
Boise is better than what you think Oregon who is the number 1 team in the land only beat them by 3 and no Tennessee isn’t better than Oregon.
@@Mattmusic11111111So is Wyoming a powerhouse?
Clemson is at # 12 9-2
Alabama is at # 13 8-3
South Carolina is at # 16 and lost to Alabama

Sankey agreed to a bad deal with ND and BIG. As someone that lives in a different part of the country outside of the south, the sec is not well liked and no one wants to help them out. Not sure why he agreed to a deal that guarantees a one loss ND with an easy schedule a home game over one of his/sec teams. He also needs to stop letting his teams schedule ND and really squeeze them and make their path to the playoff harder and possibly force them to join a conference. Sankey got totally played by everyone in the 12 team playoff negotiation.
Notre Dame won AT A&M. Cry harder
A&M also lost to a 4 win team yesterday that has a coach that is awful and past his prime. So if that is really their best win……
ND has an easy schedule, but they have more wins against bowl eligible teams than any one else in the top 25 lmao it’s actually hilarious how litlte y’all know about cfb
They hate us 'cause they ain't us. SEC. It just means more. 😂😂😂 GB🍊!!!
@@TechPanther7ND also has the worst loss of the year. Guess we're forgetting about that one, huh? 😂😂😂
LOL at ND at 9. Have you watched them play? They have the highest point differential in the country. They are top 4 in FPI, SP+ & Efficiency rankings. They are blowing teams out. They have common opponents with teams you have above them, and ND has a WAY larger point differential. Bring that garbage to the On3 ND board and you will get roasted.
They play no one if you play garbage your stats should be good when army is the premier game on your schedule that says everything.
So here the question people has Texas lost to a unrank team??no right, they actually beat the unrank teams that have beat the teams yall are D riding…those weak teams yall claim we beat have Ws against the teams that yall think are better
Clemson has only played 2 ranked teams... and lost both! How are they in the Top 25!?
Great question. Makes zero sense. Carolina will destroy them. The joke will be on all of us when they lose their third game and still get an automatic bid to the CFP for winning the craptastic ACC

You after Clem loses!😢😢😢😢😢
As much as I hate SEC bias we’ve come to a point where there may be a 3 loss team in the playoffs. It’s a 12 team playoff, every team in the top 15 isn’t going to be undefeated. I don’t think people actually look at the complete rankings before they say stupid comments like “a 3 loss team shouldn’t make the playoffs.” The big 10 is the only conference where all the best teams in the conference don’t play each other the whole year. So much so that 2/4 teams at the top of the big 10 will essentially walk into the playoffs.
A 3 loss team from the ACC is also something that could happen
No team with 3 losses should get in,,shit, 2 losses is bad enough
I would agree if there were only four spots but with twelve it's different.
@dairyair5371 you probably shouldn't be given a chance at a national championship if you lost 25% of your games.
@@therealevasquez two losses is no disgrace in the SEC. Big Ten is way down this year. Indiana played nobody until Ohio State. Michigan and Michigan State are down this year it’s three good teams and mediocrity after that

3 loss teams will backdoor their way into the Playoffs. Enjoy getting what you wanted. This system is broke AF.
Imagine if UA-cam comment sections were the CFP committee😂💀
Would be nothing but SEC teams
The sec would go broke paying everyone lol
It's to the point now, who cares! There's no idea how they are picking teams. May come down to favorite color jerseys😂😂😂
My Vols could get that coveted 5 seed I'm here for that
They don’t deserve it. Weak schedule and only one quality win vs Bama (looking a little lower quality every week) and a bad loss to Arky. Tenn should not be considered a top 12 team.
@jessesewell7922 yeah we are. This is a balanced year in college football where Oregon and Ohio St is not safe in the playoff.
Hell yea im all bout it. Go Vols
@@jessesewell7922 Florida win looks better and so Does Oklahoma on the Road.
@@jessesewell7922 What's funny about weak schedules. Now that both Oregon and Indiana have played Ohio St, their SOS is the same. Penn St hasn't played anyone outside Ohio St. Miami's best win is Florida now??? There's a bunch of teams in the top 10 that haven't played anyone. Maybe check other teams as well.
God that felt gross defending UT.
Obviously talent DOESNT MATTER. Look at how Bama played. This is about Coaching. If Saban was still in Tuscaloosa coaching, Bama would be 11-0 and Milroe Heisman front runner
