That’s dumb but understandable
Meshuggah is a band I don't need a review or opinion on!!! Because they are awesome!
Swarm is one of the most underrated Meshuggah songs
oddly i feel this whole album is.....a hidden masterpiece imo
top track on my spotify wrapped
Why? it´s so good as the rest of the album
@@reubenhamer2932yea because it’s not as “technical” as many of the albums so a lot of fans rank it low as far as their albums go. I personally think the “simplicity” of this album and the flow of the guitar makes us such a heavy masterpiece
this is actually my top meshuggah album. the originality the power the melodies the atmosphere. everything is just top notch
It's definitely one of their grooviest that's for sure. When I feel like just sitting back and nodding my head this is the album that comes to mind
I personally think they really pulled out the groove on this record. A criminally underrated one in their discography
"I Am Colossus" should not slap as much as it does for how _simple_ it really is. That interplay between the 4/4 beat and the syncopated 12/8 chugs is just _SO GOOD_ .
Oh and fun fact, "Behind The Sun" is written by Jens. As in, he wrote the whole song by himself, with the lyrics the only part he didn't write, as Thomas did that.
The Hurt That Finds You First is so fucking good live. Demiurge too. Dick's bass tone is absolutely insane live.
This might be their weirdest album just because of how much of it is slower paced, which gives your ears longer to notice how odd their riffs feel
The album is quite fast I'd say. With Demon's Name, The Hurt and Marrow which all 3 feel like some of their faster songs
@@jeremyfoot4264I think by slow they meant the changing in measures. I don’t know music so it’s hard to explain but it’s much easier to digest as the sections change slower if you know what I mean?
Sucks that you couldn't post the full thing here but you made really got highlights out of it. This is one of my fav albums they've done. Great work.
The best Shuggah album.
I won't hear otherwise.
Marrow has more sick sludge than the flu I'm getting over.
Koloss is different from the rest of the albums, yet one of my favorites, at least top 3.
Album is a grower for a lot of fans, which I find very interesting since it has some of the grooviest (I Am Colossus, Break Those Bones, Do Not Look Down, Demiurge) and also the most fast paced (The Demon’s Name Is Surveillance, The Hurt That Finds You First, Marrow, Swarm) Meshuggah songs in their catalogue.
Marrow personally has one of my favorite riffs by them EVER.
Every album is their best album. They never fail ❤
this is DEFINITELY one of their heaviest
Goddamn, Marrow is such a good song!
Was just listening to Kollos in the car, this timing is unreal haha. As usual, Meshuggah is the defining and lethal force in metal right now.
Something so tribal about this album
Behind the sun has so many forms. A masterpiece!
And written by Jens Kidman !
I’m getting cramps listening to this lol legendary bro! Lol
It is interesting how history has contextualised this album. This is a bit of a left field album for Meshuggah (being a bit simpler and slower), and it came out when the djent boom was in full swing, so there were lots of comparisons flying around. With the djent rush mostly over and Meshuggah having gone on to release some truly stellar work after this, it feels like at this point in time Meshuggah are an all-time-great band that still stand hand and shoulders over their imitators, with Koloss being a curious (but no less stellar) chapter in a near perfect discography.
One of the most underrated albums I've ever heard, it's got such a unique sound I can't find anywhere else. The only way I can describe the sound is primal, the ambience will breathe and fliw as the drums and guitar hammer you and it creates such a distinct sound. SUCH A GOOD ALBUM
So happy this is here now
One of my favourite albums ever. Never gets old for me
An absolutely fantastic album 👌
The Hurt that finds you first is my fav from this album haha love the fast groove. And the rhythmic parallels to Pravus from Obzen
Glad you got a highlight out. Fav tracks after editing? Album is a big grower and one of their best after a while imo
Is saying ‘Demiurge’ cheating?🌞🌞

Hey man, I love these highlight videos but I would love it even more if you included some quick final thoughts at the end of the album! Appreciate all the work that already goes into these, though.
love this album so much
Most excellent album 💯🔥
Chaosphere next 🥺
this
One of my fave Meshuggah albums!! So fn good 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is one of their best records IMO! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍🏽🙌🏽
Koloss just gets better and better every time I listen to it. I heard that Demiurge grows on you and let me tel you from the first time I heard that song to now, boy do I feel differently lol
Chaosphere is my top Shuggah album.
Interested and excited for what you'll think of older Meshuggah when you get to it (None EP, Destroy Erase Improve, Chaosphere, and maybe even Contradictiona Collapse). You'll be able to hear more of their roots and where they came from musically (more thrash, kind of like Metallica AJFA era but on steroids).
Every song with Meshuggah is a grower for me, once you can figure out the drum patterns and the guitars moving over it, it’s way groovier. Tracks like Marrow are on repeat even though it doesn’t have those groovy nuances like the snare being in 4/4 but the drum patterns are disgustinggg
Gotta love big brother UA-cam. All knowing and all powerful. 😂
Koloss is my 4th favourite album, behind ObZen, Nothing, and Catch 33. Koloss is super unique and a real head banging album. It’s also in my opinion the most accessible album, without compromising the integrity of what meshuggah is.
My favourite track here: Marrow
You've got the Demiurge shuffle down!
I've loved this band since catch 33
The demon's name is surveillance, is my "bulldozer" song
Thomas Haake is Stamina's middle name..
This was actually Fredrik Thordendal’s last album he wrote for in Meshuggah to this very day
YESSSSSSSS
I knew you'd do it!
Hey its me again. Where is Sol Niger Within? Considering you did everything else Meshuggah
Swear when I saw Meshuggah live and they played the last part of Demiurge, probably the whole crowd lost it's shit, just so simple but so damn good
Concatenation
Really almost perfect Meshuggah album.
That’s stupid that yt won’t let you post it on yt but only on patreon, I can’t afford patreon, I’m 😞
My least favorite Meshuggah album from the past twenty or so years. Some really good tracks on there but cover-to-cover it's just not their best. Of course that's saying quite a bit. Still better than the other metal albums that came out that year.
you should stop doing full album reactions...
Why?
