Couldn't agree more re the PS4S for a car intended for road use vs track. I run PS4S's on my GT4 and have never felt, when chasing cars equipped with Cup 2's on the road that i was suffering from a lack of grip compared with them, in the dry. Conversely, in the wet, the PS4S's mean you can continue to push on with confidence.
We’re you guys out in North Wales yesterday 3rd of May in Ffestiniog about mid day 🤔 I saw a group of Porsches one with roof cameras looked like yours, I only a brief glance as I passed behind on my Harley heading for Bala Great channel by the way, it helped me choose a Cayman and it’s a fantastic sports car❤
Agreed I had cup 2’s in my gt3 and they were useless in anything other than dry weather abiuve 7 or 8 degrees. Put ps4s on about 18 months ago and what a brilliant tyre, both on a track day at Silverstone and a tesco roundabout in February, perfect tyre. All these haters saying you have to have cup 2’s have never driven a gt3 in the cold and wet they are dangerous.
Couldn’t agree more about the PS4Ss. I’ve had them on my 981 GT4 for almost 3 years now and they are brilliant. I too have had a suspension and geometry set up by Center Gravity and they increased my front track by 16mm using 8mm shims each side. I’m running 2° negative camber on the front with the PS4Ss and Center Gravity definitely worked their magic on my car as it is truly transformed in both the dry and especially in the wet. For me the cost of their service and the little extras bits like adjusting the ride height and rake of the car were 100% worth it. Keep up the good videos too.
I partially sold my gt4 due to the tire temperature and moisture restrictions ! Same using philosophy 99,9% road use are cup 2 the wrong choice especially if you like to drive it on cooler mountains roads. 4S or mon semi slick is the key to 100% usability + perfect alignement.
Congrats on the purchase of the 981 GT4, amazing car and future classic. As you’ve said PS4S for superior road handling. It’s May in the UK and still wet and raining!
@@MAXREVS Kudos for driving through Europe with a RHD GT4👍. If you are doing a tour in Switzerland and are OK with it, I would be happy to join you for a section.

Just bought 981 GT4 with Cup 2's... They will be getting ditched as soon as they need replacing, I have PS4S on my 911 and they are brilliant.

Thanks for the great video and impressions. The white Cayman GT4 RS would have fit better into this convoy than the GR Yaris though😉
I’m going to Switzerland to meet the white GT4RS owner in summer. Will make another cracking video then👍🏼

Where are you based? Route still TBD
