nothing wrong with your method but i think proacryl paints do not suit for this very well, because they are too matt. u want to have a metal that has a sheen unless u go up till black, the black turns matt while the rest is shiny.

Agreed, however that’s why I diluted it to make it extremely thin. I’m basically stippling it on.
