This is something I’m incredibly passionate about. My grandma and parents did the same to a piece of land in Australia and I hope if I can ever make the money, to buy land and restore it as well.
All that being said...why use the Inception soundtrack? Furthermore, why use the Inception soundtrack and not credit it? Strikes a bit of a chord for me as a professional musician and media arts student

He didn't explain the total solution . He said no grazing, let plants grow. The most important idea is to shape the ground in order to collect the rainwater and to try to prevent evaporation. This is done be key-lining the ground, building swales and putting in check dams. This will allow the rainwater to soak into the ground and recharge the aquifer. This in turn will provide moisture for grounplants , trees and water for the following years.

It was the chaos of never ending wars that destroyed it in the first place. Once people are displaced and disconnected from the land, they switch from managing it to mining it. And socialist thinking that the road to a land of milk and honey for all, starts with taking land away from the best dairy farmers and beekeepers.

Some people press on the wrong thumb by mistake. I agree, we should all spending our spare money, those who can, on collecting grains but also on programs to stop African natality (and elsewhere where it’s necessary). To stop it with humanity but stop it. It will stop wars, and save our planet. In black Africa, a woman have 8 children, average. We need to stop this insanity if we love our planet. They try to emigrate everywhere they can, it means they can’t live in their birth of place. So they have to reduce their population, instead of augmenting it. Nigeria has a population that will soon be as important as the population of the United States. Peacefully reducing the number of humans in countries that have this high rate of births, it smarter than waiting for famines and wars.

why don't we all vote him as country PM ? or European PM ? or middle east PM ? i bet it will brings some impact.
as here in germany... more and more "supposedly reserved land are now turned into residential units"
it was so obvious.. my friend bought a land here from housing developer.. promised the wild old fruit orchard behind will be reserved land that can't be bought from construction... and within 2 years after the completion of his new house.. the land behind has passed the survey to be open out for construction.. and it is about to start work..
what a joker these german authority.. pure joker. they changes their laws as they like...
and they create funny law like "if you kills a wasp you will likely be fine from a few thousand to tens of thousand euro"..
these are politician.. too free to make and remove laws as they like.. maybe should put them to work as gardener.. so that they won't be so "free" to do stupid things...
i think all in all, farmer don't do that much harm to earth as compare to how politician and government harm the earth in large political right scale.
reminded me that if we abide by God's law... HIS first creation is to put Adam and Eve in the garden of EDEN to tend the garden... that's men suppose to be doing.. not creating development and destroy everything as men passed by...
that's what essentially men do.. destroyer of the earth.. (only minority ppl like Geoff Lawton and John D. Liu and some minor amount of ppl are doing their struggle to change the eco system to better..
if they can be voted as leader of a country, the country should prosper in eco system.. and the earth might eventually stabilizing..
.. ya.. my imagination that won't exist.... with human being.

    • @andrewyek
      @andrewyek 6 років тому +19

oh.. and those politics are banded as protecting environment.. hence make all types of laws to make civilian life difficult in every single way.. but the large cooperation that brings in taxes revenue for the government... are allowed to pollute secretly..
i was working in a 3d metal printer technology in germany big daughter company of big car part manufacturing company or group rather.... they instructed us to wash the waste aluminium fine dust powder and stainless steel fine dust powder (so fine that they fly in the air) down sewage system in the company compound.. so many ppl saw it.. but nothing was being done.. for years.. and still doing the same..
my college said.. luckily i am not living in Neuss anyway..
that's the typical core mentality of Germany here.. and where is the environment politician ? busy making up laws and fines that gripping civilian life in every single small way.
for example charging resident for rain water from roof that comes into their sewage system..
ya... i think with these thing happening through out the world... (even here in germany... where it should be the most environment friendly conscious country..) what more to say about those country that interest in become world most economic powerful nation ?!!
all in all,... money is evil.. it does make save life and make life better.. it destroy far more that anyone can imaging...
i bet Adam and Eve don't think about money at all.. :)
all they was thinking was enough to eat... so they won't open out the whole forest to make lumber factory out of it... or any sort of such thing.. nor dump heavy metal into water system (even if they have it)

Basically: not all soils are capable of sustaining the vegetation needed for human sustenance; taking sub Saharan Africa as an example. Hence, the first step for re-greening is to create pasture land. Even then not all lands can be regreened because of the soil property; overly rocky such as Namibia prevents everything seen here to take place hence there will be meat eaters because they just can't access proper land.
YET anyways, someday some smart ass scientist will be able to find a better way.

Watching how in Jordan they are transforming the so ancient desserts into a green landscape, really amazed me.Beside that, results at China & Rwanda, are really remarkable!!!.Greetings from Colombia!!!.

However, these solutions to hold back desertification, and all the negative knock-on effects it causes man and the environment, were blindingly obvious 25 yrs ago. I've been watching videos about this today, and seen how in my country (Australia) people have been trying to tell politicians, farmers and the public about this for years. No-one listened and drought has advanced so much that many major rivers have now run dry and the resilient bushland has become brittle from dehydration and subject to destructive fires which are difficult to control. I don't "know" why such solutions aren't welcomed and put into practice, but I do suspect that methods which don't create cash profits are considered unimportant to people with capital (eg, fertiliser manufacturers and politicians) and come across as 'hippy idealism' to the general public. Clearly, more education is needed, but how much time do we have left to implement such learning? I am sharing this video on social media to try and raise awareness, especially as it shows a variety of locations, useful methods and positive results.

Too much money involved. We need to do it ourselves, not think any of the powerful will. Same with Vandana Shiva and her crusade for organic, local crops vs GMO, large extensions for “feeding the people”: the long term effect is environment devastation and, in the end, more hunger, because one single disease can wipe out the whole crop. Not to mention the effects of the agrochemicals they have to use for said GMO crops on human, animal and earth health.

NO MORE LAWN MEANS NO MORE LAWN COSTS AND NO MORE AIR CONDITIONER COSTS.
About 30 years ago I reforested the lot around our house. When we purchased the house it was a typical grass lawn with two trees suburban home. I initially planted 60 young hardwood trees throughout the yard and 90 Burford Holly bushes around the perimeter of the property. Looking at a house as having four walls and one roof I concluded that 4/5ths of the heat was coming through the walls and 1/5th was coming through the roof. The roof was getting direct heat and the walls were getting direct heat plus reflected heat reflected from the lawn. .My reasoning was the trees would stop direct sunlight and the Holly bushes would stop reflected sunlight hitting the walls of house. Before the trees and Holly bushes grew to their current size we had to run the air conditioner 24/7. This gave us a power bill close to $400.00 a month. In spite of the high power pill, it was unable to cool the house to a comfortable temperature. I made a few modifications to the house by adding roofed decks around the back and front entrances, to block the heat coming into the house through the doors, plus replacing the small window in the upstairs bedroom with French Doors plus a small roofed deck. The French Doors effectively took out most of the upper bedroom wall allowing the heat rising from the lower floors to escape. As the trees and Holly Bushes grew providing more shade the electric bill came down. Now the house is surrounded with a forest canopy and we no longer use or need the air conditioner. Our electric bill has been reduced by almost 75% and is currently $110.00 a month. The forest canopy is filled in to a point where the house can no longer be seen from the street. The property forestation is completely self sustaining and does not require watering, chemicals, mowing or any other human intervention.

Our neighbors raised some farm animals in moveable pens. They would let the animals graze on an area for a while, then, after some time, move the pens to a new location. The manure of the animals, of course, stayed where the pens had been, and they had the greenest, lushest lawns I've ever seen. They also had food and flower gardens in that area.

Excellent! Controlled grazing is crucial for many places. And we know that because that’s how nature does it. Plants and animals work in harmony.

This documentary is one of the best I've seen from vpro. Excellent content and picture. I loved the part where it states: revalue all values. We have to use reason and logic to guide our steps. This will ensure a green and health planet. These are the vision of hyperians too. We need a complete and coherent design inside and outside. We need permaculture to feed the body and ontological mathematics to feed the mind.
    Great work. Thanks for this.
