  • This is a jam-packed video today! Not only are we taking a look at March's currently inked fountain pens, we're also answering the #8penquestions put out by ‪@seemownay‬ and ‪@lianelikes‬ . Be sure to go check out the video that started it all.
    BUT WAIT, that's not all! At the end of the video we take a look at the GugimFolio by Hanaduri. This is a beautiful notebook made from the inner bark of mulberry trees.

    Cat vocal cameo! Love your answers to the pen questions, and you’re currently inked is awesome! That folio is so beautiful. I hope to get one soon. 🤘🏼😸🧡🖋

      I cut out him jumping on the table and trying to step in my swatches. He's a bad kitty. But what are you going to do?

    Hi Brenda! Your red Taccia ink sort of reminds me of how Vinta Makopa is ... in that the sheen takes over!
    I've really got to convert an M2 for a Pilot Parrallel nib that looks super fun!!! I hope it will be easy 😂.
    This was a super fun video... I really loved hearing your 8 pen question answers!!! Hope everything is going well for you!!!❤

      I've not tried Makopa, but magenta inks, I've discovered, don't really suit me. Reds and pinks in general, I just can't seem to bond with them. I'll keep trying though.
      The M2 hack IS easy. I was thinking about doing a video, but it wasn't my idea. I found it on Reddit. If you have a soldering iron, or wood burning kit, I'd recommend putting in an x-acto blade to melt through the housing. If not that, maybe a jeweler's saw. Using a regular blade, was difficult for me.

    I found your channel through the 8 pen questions tag, but recognized your username from looking for swatch labels on Etsy. I haven't purchased yet, but expect I will in the near future. It's great learning about how people have entered the hobby, how their tastes have changed / or not, and just a lot of fun. Thank you for a fun video and amazing visuals :)

      Oh thank you! I hear from a good source that the labels may go on sale for the month of May for a certain celebration. Thank you for your kind words and for watching!

    We have some of the same answers. 🤣❤ I really loved hearing your thoughts on these pen questions, and seeing the flip through of your journals.
    I have to agree with you about the cover for the Hobonichi 5 year. I made a slip cover for mine out of some cork fabric because it just wasn't nice otherwise. I'd have preferred even the cover from the Cousin.

      @TheDormousesDesk  Рік тому +1

      Me too! The Cousin cover is far superior to whatever they have on the 5 year. It's not like they don't make nice covers, and for the price and how long you're going to use the book, you'd think they'd put something more substantial on there.

    40 is a great number. I agree that you should get a vintage waterman with flex. Will suit your hand writing style for sure.

    Andrinople is kind of dry, but I love it so much. Also thanks for answering the 8 pen questions. I enjoyed listening to your answers!

    Taccia Ukiyo-e Utamaro Benizakura is one of my favorite bright reds. For something deeper, I like Noodler's Red.
    Nice notebook. I have a bad habit of 'collecting' notebooks and not using them. Resisting... Heh.

      @TheDormousesDesk  Рік тому +1

      You can do it! I couldn't but maybe you can. Benizakura is great. I love it, but then it's red...so I also don't love it. I don't understand how that works. It's crazy.

    You need Deatramentis document black or noodlers black or platinum carbon black for those separating lines or use pencil :)

      I did use a pencil. lol.

      @@TheDormousesDesk I apologize sometimes I'm doing something while I'm watching the video and they look away and I didn't see that you actually used a pencil I thought you used a fountain pen with a washable ink

    I loved hearing your responses while flipping thru your bullet journal! Also helpful that you reviewed the hanji notebook at the end, I’ve been thinking about getting one. Would you say that the paper texture feels more like midori?

    • @TheDormousesDesk
      @TheDormousesDesk  Рік тому +1

      I had to wait til after work to find my Midori samples. I’d say the texture of the Hanji is most similar to the MD letter paper. I find it’s very pleasant, texture-wise. Midori cotton feels like more friction between pen and paper. Midori also allows for a bit of sheen. I’ve not seen any sheen in the hanji.
