I used to have two but one it’s broken and last night the one i still have saved me from a breaking in I was right behind the door perhaps 8 feet away when I was watching the door get banged I just didn’t believe it was at the door I thought it was something very close like a car crash.🙏

How do you make this small metallic sphere at the bottom be pushed out? I adjust the height but it can't "lock" - the sphere remains inside, not out through one of these circle holes.
Hmmm, that may be an alignment issue or a defect. If you haven’t done so already, I would send it back and get a new one because it should easily adjust and lock in to one of holes of your choosing
You want to adjust it and have it standing more upright closer to the door otherwise it will not be effective.
