    Please please please take a look at some videos to learn how to set up and use a small table saw properly. NEVER run a piece of wood end-grain on the fence, you'll learn the hard way that it catches the wood and throws it out at high velocity. If it catches you, it'll hurt. The mis-measurement is a function of how well you adjust and set the saw up, even very expensive saws need a lot of set up before you start using them. Watch some videos, learn all you can. A table saw is possibly the most lethal power tool after a chainsaw, because things can go wrong very quickly. Love the channel, my wife and I watch every full episode, and we don't want to see you lose a finger or an eye :-)

    You need to use the guide!! If you don't, the wood your cutting will shift, and the blade will kick the wood back at you. You could get hurt. Just measure and mark your board!!!!! Be safe❤

    Hi.. On the health of your Stihl trimmer. It appears the cutting head is turning while you are trying to start, this indicates the clutch is not disengaging. The usual cause is corrosion on the clutch shoe pivot bushing. Rotating the mass of the drive line as well as the motor makes for harder starting.
    Also, the way it doesn't accelerate may be caused by a blocked exhaust screen. This can be removed and cleaned by burning or scraping off the carbon deposits.
    I am a Stihl mechanic in rural Western Australia, so direct assistance is sadly not possible.
    All the best to you and keep the great content coming 😁

    Completely enjoy your channel
    Just a couple of tips with your tablesaw keep the blade only up about half inch from the top of your material. It’s much safer.
    And you can adjust the marker on the fence . you adjust that to the correct measurement so you can use the material guide
    Hope this will help you ❤

    Your guide is called a push stick. Is the blade adjustable vertically? If so you should lower it so that the teeth just clear the wood when cutting, that will help you retain fingers.

    Again, Katie, Scott - phenomenal photography. The skies at around 7:55 are Turneresque in their splendour and evidence a developing artistic eye for colour and composition. Beyond that, you've really mastered the art of using depth of field to capture fine focus on the close-up details. Simply stunning.

    I have the same saw. If you are cross cutting, it would be better to use a cross cut saw or a chop saw. For cutting length width down, the saw will do the job but I find it needs a finer blade. The guide also tends to move and does need an additional brace and the guide extending. For long cutting you will need a guide. I'm sure you will be extra careful.

  • @isadelahunt2284
    @isadelahunt2284 Місяць тому +2

    Stand slightly to the side of the wood, out of direct line of the work when using that saw. If something catches it can shoot straight back at you just like an arrow or crossbow bolt, with enough force to do real damage, like peirce your leg or belly. So many near misses amongst my family and carpenter friends...

    Ahh, trenching alongside outside would mess with the structure. That makes sense. Wouldn't be an option, though that'd be the most engineeringly type of fix. I hope the plan you have is a lasting and good way to go. Blessings to you.

  • @stevebl4439
    @stevebl4439 Місяць тому +1

    I would call it the library, also I agree that the blade on the table saw should be kept at about half an inch higher then material being cut. The fence should be able to be adjusted to be right. Also a table saw is not the best tool for cross cuts. For the planks for the bridge I would use your chain saw. For the long shelves a circular saw or miter saw is best and safest.

We live in a medieval castle 🏰 in the Netherlands and we have discovered a huge leak in our basement under the house too. • @isadelahunt2284
      @isadelahunt2284 Місяць тому +1

      Also, clean the air filter out, and sometimes if you take the fuel cap off and put it back on it helps, as there is some sort of air exchange built in it that if it clogs makes a vacuum enough that the fuel doesn't go onto the carbeurator. Cleaning is always a good thing. Those things run forever, and can take some abuse, I have one--love it!

    Good thinking to test the saw before you do the bookshelf project! And I'm sure you remember the old carpenter's adage, "Measure twice, cut once." Katie, your prowess with the strimmer is impressive. But , why does that song "I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK....." flit through my head when I see you in full regalia? And I'm so glad you can see your way forward with the mitigation of the damp in the house. It made my heart ache to see you so distraught.
