    How would you compare the Extreme Tour and MP with the Ezones 98 and its tour version? I used to play with a RF97 then later switched to the Yonex DR98 that is less demanding and gives me easier access to spin. I was considering the Ezone 98 tour but now I'm thinking if the normal version would be a better ideia if customized with some lead tape.

    Is the racket better than artengo tr960 control tour?

    • @CzechTennisGuy
      @CzechTennisGuy  2 роки тому +2

      It's a better racket in stock version, but if you customize the Artengo, it's a different story. I would say the Artengo is more precise and feel oriented, but the Extreme Tour has more power, easy spin and it's unmatched on volleys. The volleys are just amazing with the racket. It also feels faster during the swing because my customized Artengo has SW 325, which is higher and the racket is also heavier, about 318 g unstrung with the extra lead tapes.

      I don't think they are similar. The new Extreme Tour uses the latest technology, which is different from Youtek. Overall the Prestige line is quite different. Extremes are for maximum spin and power. Prestige series is fro best control and precision. Extremes are easier to play with, very modern feel, great power and spin potential. You should try them before you buy for sure.

    What do you think of the very low punctuation it has in the TW review?

    • @CzechTennisGuy
      @CzechTennisGuy  2 роки тому +2

      I read the text review from the playtesters and most of the times is very positive. The lower sub 80 points numbers are only in these sections - control 75, returns 76, touch/feel 78, power 78, slice 79. And that's always very subjective based on how fast you swing, how good are you overall. But I need to say these numbers are pretty accurate they are in line with my thoughts. The main reason for these lower scores is the lower SW, which makes this racket a very fast weapon that leaves a lot of space for customization. I can imagine this racket having a SW of 325 and it would be perfect. Otherwise this racket feels like a racket for advanced players, who are low on power, lighter guys like me. Probably if you are a big guy with loads of strenght, this racket is going to feel like a toy for you and you will feel like there is missing something. I would compare it a little bit to the Artengo TR960 Control Tour in terms of manooovrbility and power in stock form. Just ad little weight at 3,12,9, maybe just 1g at each position and the racket will be perfect.

    • @CzechTennisGuy
      @CzechTennisGuy  2 роки тому +1

      I recommend customizing the Tour version a little bit, 1-2g at 9,12,9 o'clock and the racket will be on another level, with SW around 325-330. But if you want a bigger headsize, do it with the MP version. But you need to count with slower manooovrlibity because the balance will be head heavier. Other options are Tecnifibre TF40 315 or Tecnifibre T-Fight RS 315, but again, they have smaller headsize of 630 cm2. There are not many rackets with 645cm2 headsize with weight around 310g or higher. The Head Speed Pro is there but it has 18/20 pattern that feels little bit stiff.

    This racquet caught me by surprise. I first tried it with hyper g and totally hated it. I had no control at all. Then tried it with Lynx Tour 1.25 at 21kg and since 2015 it’s the first time i seriously think to switch away from my blade 2015 V5. Funny thing is that i loved extreme tour 360plus but it lacked power. Auxetic finally gives you that little boost in terms of free power / pop and also makes it a lot more stable that even without lead it’s pretty stable. Feel is still raw like a classic prestige in a way but a little less crisp than 360+. The reason why extreme tour is a gem is because to me it’s the most and best all around racquet on the market. You have tons of control to place the ball whenever you need coupled with free spin on demand but still confidence on flat shots and to all of that IF YOU HIT the ball properly and into the sweet spot it becomes very powerful. But like you said you must be loose and swing fast to exploit its power….. it’s not a babolat to play with low and medium speed swing. You have a racquet that can be a players racquet and in the same time crush the ball like a babolat. For example another great feeling stick like tf40 16x19 even with proper technique didn’t give enough free power…… it’s a lot more demanding stick for even more advanced players. Give time to extreme tour. On first hits it will feel like sweet spot is small but the more you get to learn it the more clean you ll hit the ball and you will be impressed. Even on serves it could feel underpowered but if you swing loose it gives you huge spin for kick serves and lots of power for flat ones. I mean there is not a single shot this racquet can’t produce. And at the end of the day it’s a friendly players racquet that it will improve your timing and technique. It’s not a coincidence that Andy the legendary TW tester has switched to it after many years with yonex DR98.

    • @CzechTennisGuy
      @CzechTennisGuy  Рік тому +1

      Great comment and description of the racket. I feel exactly the same about it. The best way you described the racket - "there is not a single shot this racquet can’t produce". Exactly.

      I had similar experience when i bought this racket on ebay after loving my demos with it. got it for about 50% cost for slightly used racket but it came with hybrid string setup from prior owner - half luxilon poly of some kind and half natural gut, which I thought I was getting a great deal as part of the purchase. But when I hit with that string setup, it felt totally different than my demo experience. So, I quickly replaced with Lynx Touch and now I love hitting with it again. I was normally a Pro Staff user with flatter shots, but this Extreme Tour has allowed me to get more spin on my shots without the effort I needed to impart with the Pro Staff. I also like this Extreme Tour for volleys since it's really maneuverable and solid in spite of its lower weight. So strings will make a difference for sure on this stick, in my opinion.

    • @CzechTennisGuy
      @CzechTennisGuy  Рік тому

      @@PTP4747 Yeah. I think for these rackets with weight around 300-310g it really doesn't make sense to play with some softer hybrid or natural gut. These rackets are made for polyester strings to enhance the power, spin and control. Softer hybrids or natural gut are great for heavy rackets 320-340g because they add more touch and feel to the heavy and powerful frame.

    How does it compare in terms of feel to the Wilson Pro Staff 97? For me, feel is the most important thing in a racquet. I've never really connected with Head racquets because they seemed to have a mushy, non responsive feel off the stringbed. Even control oriented racquets like the Prestige had this mushy feel for me. That's why I generally stuck with Pro Staffs.

    • @CzechTennisGuy
      @CzechTennisGuy  2 роки тому +1

      What can I say. Pro Staff is Pro Staff. It's very unique in it's feel. I can't compare these two rackets, because as you mentioned, the PS has this connection going on when you're hitting the ball. It's something that other rackets don't have. I think it's almost impossible to find a replacement racket for Pro Staff users. There will be always something missing when you go different path. I would say if you go from PS to another racket, there must be another reason for you making the switch. Maybe you want more easy power, more spin or bigger sweetspot. But in terms of feel and connection, Pro Staff is always very special. For my taste I managed to customize the Artengo TR960 Control Tour 16x19 so that it feels almost like a Pro Staff 97. It's very similar with the feel and connection.

      @@Ariana_y004 Yes, I agree. I feel like when the strings break in and the tension drops 2-3 kgm the racket plays best. I usually end up with a 19 kg tension when the strings break and I have no problem with control of the ball.

    Thank you for your videos, we can feel all your passion in it ❤

    • @CzechTennisGuy
      @CzechTennisGuy  2 роки тому +2

      Hi to the mountain, the previous gen with 360+ tech felt like you described it - hollow. This Auxetic tech feels like it "fills up" the hollow space with some "fluid" which makes the feedback more enjoyable, yet sensitive enough to feel what you need to feel. Now you also feel more the spot where you hit the ball in a sense that you are kind of hugging the ball with your whole arm. It's like when you open your palm to catch a ball and you close your palm exactly at the moment the ball hits your palm and you feel like you have it under your control and no one can steal it from you anymore. Sweetspot is once again smaller compared to the MP version and requires more focused approach to every single shot, but now it really doesn't make that big shake when you hit it outside, but it gives you kind of mild bodycheck that doesn't feel harsh or unpleasant. Thank you for your kind words

    • @CzechTennisGuy
      @CzechTennisGuy  2 роки тому

      Definitely. This is one of the easiest 98 inch2 rackets on the market. It's really easy to pick up and play with. But, if you are a beginner, much better option is the MP version, trust me. More free power, bigger sweetspot and really fun racket to hit with. The Tour version can be at times "lazy", so if you are not in a good position, the ball will not bounce from the strings that well.

      @Ariana_y004 2 роки тому +2

      Depends on your play style!! If you want to stick to the 300-305 gram range then you should consider the Aux Extreme mp but if you’re willing to customize then adding some weight to the tour at 10 and 2 would probably pay off better but it will feel less maneuverable at the net but you will feel better at the baseline with the off center shots! With the tour, you may prefer lower tensions to increase power if you lack some.
      I had the G360+ Rad mp and the swing weight was just too unpleasant for me so I transitioned to the extreme tour and added 4 grams in total to 3 and 9 to increase stability.
      If you want stability: extreme mp

I recommend adding weight for increased defense and returns. I recommend the MP version from 14 years old if he has the physique to play with the racket regularly and in high intesity. I know from my training with children, that they love heavy adult rackets when they are young, because the ball goes really fast from the racket adn they enjoy the sensation. But only for 10 minutes and after that they get very tired and eventually they start to feel the pain. Don't get the child to persuade you to buy the MP and try to explain him that he must wait for that weight. Buy him the Team version, he will be very happy with the lighter frame for sure and after 2-3 years, when he gets bigger and stronger, he can grab the MP version.

To achieve that, would it be good to counteract with a gram in the grip? Even my custom prestige auxetic tour with six grams at 12 o'clock feels faster. Please help. Make the racket work for you. Experiment with different string at different tensions. At the end of the day it's a frame made of graphite and resin, they're not going to turn an average player into an elite player, success comes more from the player than the racket.

    why a smaller head is always better for a 1 handed backhand ?

      It's not something you need to follow. Most intermediate amateurs don't use a 98 inch2 rackets, but I recommend it because you have much better stability and control over the shot compared to a bigger head size. When you play a double handed backhand, you control the racket with the second hand. It means that if you are a right handed player, you control the backhand with your left hand. Your right hands just holds the racket and is responsible for the launch angle/grip, but not power, stability and overall control and precision. You have two helping hands that can divide the work between each other and you can maintain the control of the racket easier.
      But when you play one handed backhand, it is always your right hand (for a righ hander) that controlseverything - grip, launch angle, power, stability and precision. That's why you need more support from the racket and it is always better you have a racket that helps you with the stability, precision and overall control - smaller head for better precision and control, higher swingweight for better plowthrough and stability. But you have to be on a intermediate or higher advanced level to benefit from the smaller headsize.

    Is this racket suitable for beginners? Thanks and anyone can answer it 😊

      Hi Lydia, this racket is not suitable for beginners. It's the Tour version, which means Tournament. So this racket is for at least intermediate players and advanced players with tournaments ambitions. For a beginner a suggest a lighter racket Extreme Team or Extreme MP Lite. Essentially racket with under 300g unstrung and sub 310 swingweight and at least 645 cm2 headsize.
