  • This is day three of our multi-part series showcasing the Florida Adventure Trail also known as the F.A.T. The Florida Adventure Trail is roughly 1200 miles plotted throughout the state of Florida over the past several years by a gentleman named Jon Birkmire with Sunshine State Adventure Co. The Florida Adventure Trail combines off-road trails, scenic backroads, and drives through several small towns while minimizing the amount of highway and paved roads needed to travel on.
After finishing up some last-minute updates to our rig, we had a late start 😅 on day three of our multi-part series presenting the Florida Adventure Trail! Despite our late start, we had a great trip out trail riding through Richloam Wildlife Management Area and camping at Holder Mine over in Citrus Wildlife Management Area!

Again with the amazing cinematography. Those drone shots and drive by scenes. So much extra work goes into that. That transition from the tent to the cooking was nice!, and I ended up having to go make a BLT. Thanks for the content. It’s truly appreciated!

Thanks for the compliments! ☺️ It is extra work, but we absolutely love every bit of it.

Word to all the Richloam newbies....as stated in the video the main trails are usually pretty passable....but the smaller side trails usually end up trecherous with deep water and muddy muck. Especially in the wet season, I highly suggest traveling with a friend and recovery gear...in the wet season most of the trails south of 50 listed as difficult or hard are not passable... have fun and tread lightly.

Thanks for vouching for what we said. If you wanna see how treacherous Richloam can be, check out our exploring Richloam series. It can get pretty wild out there!

love the videos. would really love to see maybe a visual like a map on where you started and where you ended each day if possible.

That is something we wished we did too, adding maps and making it look good is actually pretty hard in videos because we have animation experience. This is something we are playing with and wanting to include in the future. We have started adding our starting point in our Georgia Traverse series!

I’m basically brand new to the hobby. I used to play around in Ocala with dune buggies but I never had to know where I was because I brought up the rear of the pack. I haven’t asked for information like this yet, but everyone I’ve talked to has been very helpful with things like vehicle set ups and gear or how to set up Gaia and import GPX files etc.

Hey there, just saw we missed your question here. Unfortunately its really easy loose track of comments on UA-cam from the studio and creator app side. To answer your question, we think the best way to enter Richloam from 33 would be to go north then turn west onto 50, then south down 471. 471 splits Richloam by east and west and after a few miles you'll start to see trails on either side of the road, these will be entrances to Richloam. also the Richloam general store will be in the west side down a road called Richloam Clay Sink Road. if this seems like a round a bout way to go, its because you don't really want to try to enter from the south of Richloam because the southern section is green swamp and is closed and off limits except for hunting season. be sure to check this out on a map, we recommend Gaia gps and we hope this helps and isn't to late of a response for you.
