As someone who is hoping to go to school to be an osteopathic physician in the US, let me provide some defense to our brothers in chiropractic care. The joint being stuck might not cause nerve pressure, but rather, the body has a way of trying to protect that immobilization. By remobilizing the joint, they are causing the reflex to relax and enter into a parasympathetic state. It's not like HVLA doesn't exist in osteopathy or something.
