Thank you for the nice visit! :) I enjoyed it a lot. I love this project since I first saw the competition results.. I'd love to visit it sometime, but since I live in Lisbon it's literally on the other side of the world! Who knows someday.. :) It was a pitty you couldn't show the public loop! Ironic.. the public loop was the only thing that was closed to the public.. (same thing happens in casa da música by the way.. in the first years everyone could freely wander around the building through the public loop. nowadays it's closed and can only be seen through organised visits.. very sad..
Regardind the corrugated glass: I think it was first used by OMA in the Casa da Música in Porto. I think they actually developed the material specifically for that project for acoustical reasons (the curvature of the glass gives it structural integrity, strenghening the large glass sheets (normal glass would bend to much and affect the sound negativelly, making the acoustics terrible..). Also the curvature(s) are meant to reflect sound in homogenous ways inside both auditoriums at casa da musica. Turns out the technical requirements for this glass also made it super cool to look at! :)
Keep up your cool visits :)
    Greetings from Portugal

Thank you for enjoying my visit. Yes, I make it a point to have a pilgrimage to OMA's works since he is one of the most influential architects today. I didn't notice the public loop at Casa De Musica since I was in a formal guided tour, or maybe I wasn't listening and dorking out on the details and space haha. It was 2019 when I saw OMA's Porto's work and honestly, I dont remember the loop explicitly expressed like this one of TaipeiPAC, which is loud red, lighted and shouting at your face, like a diagram in 3D that says I am a passageway - suggesting the "loop." It will be nice to make the public wander freely as an idea and i could only guess why it is not the case anymore. It will be nice to find out...and hopefully architects work around it to make it happen in future projects. And yeah, I didn't know about the technical features of the corrugated glass. I learned from you! Now that you mentioned it, we can say that the 'technical functions of his materials are really a form of an aesthetic expression. Thanks again for viewing. Cheers from the Philippine Islands.

    This made me claustrophobic 😅
The style leans a lot towards brutalist architecture. If you didn’t know the meaning behind it’s building, it has a depressing atmosphere 😅

I can see what you mean especially with some areas of the building. I particularly experienced this at the DAC in Copenhagen, also by the same design firm. The ideas are great but the execution can be quite challenging and I love how we can see it from a non-designer or non-architect point view. Thanks for sharing your observation .
