Initial D is one of my all time favorite anime. Within the car scenes Initial D is well loved, and seems to be the genesis of a lot of people's love for cars. As the series progresses it becomes less about the coming of age style story and more about the adventure of traveling and racing lots of different people. almost like a video game, going between bosses.
Also the main character is call takumi, don't know what the translators where thinking.

I bought the first omnibus, I think it will be much better than reading the old digital version I read for this video so hopefully I end up falling in love with the story this time.
