Great video. I’d like to see less predictions about high end cars like Lambo. The cool predictions to me are ones like the Bronco and the Corolla GR. Both of these vehicles are affordable to most people. But good examples that last for 20 years likely will be worth decent money. I’d guess the GR86, Z, and Supra that remain low miles will be worth good money 15-20 years from now-we are seeing dealer markups on MSRP on all these as it stands. Keep these videos coming!
All overlooking the fact that we will never have enough rare earth minerals or charging infrastructure to go fully electric. I liken this to the uk government telling everyone in the early 2000s to go out and buy diesels, only to come back 20 years later and penalise everyone who bought one!
I caught myself thinking the GR86 might become collectible and hoping on it as an owner of one, but then I remembered mine will have such high miles by the time I'm done that it won't matter lol
Have you seen the sacrilege of them now having bs autonomous "safety" features starting for 24? The 22s and 23s will likely, down the line, be very desirable. I'm holding on to my 23 BRZ (that as our 3rd car won't have thaaaaat many miles lol).

@@WatanabeNoTsuna. I totally agree! By the way, to easily find a guy able to fine tune a twin barrel Weber carb is becoming harder now. Everything has its cycle as generations passes away. Thank you for the exchange of thoughts JP
@@WatanabeNoTsuna. Adding power to an ICE engine is easy. Add more fuel and air and you have more power. Upgrade parts as necessary. Adding power to an electric motor is practically impossible once you reach the limit of what the motor is designed for. You might be able to unlock a bit more power beyond what the manufacturer limited it to stock but beyond that it's physically limited by its internals. They're already designed for maximum efficiency at translating electricity into motion so it's not like you can upgrade the windings or magnets.
@@WatanabeNoTsuna. You're definitely not wrong, although batteries really don't take well to sitting not being used. For me the Mustang dark horse has to be a remarkable time capsule that will fetch a pretty penny in a couple years not a lot of 8 cylinders running around and the Mustang is definitely a legendary one that will be missed.
I disagree. I think the styling went downhill and the interior looks nothing like a mustang plus the lack of any real physical controls. It will become dated by that. Plus the lack of aftermarket support and tuning will severely hurt it.
@stardogMLB I care about the interior in the 70k overpriced car. The 18-23 looks great, perfect blend of modern and classic. Sure the materials aren't the best but the 2024 isn't either, it lost all of its character and traded it for an iPad. The car was designed for 20 year old but is priced for a 50 year old
Great choice of the E63S! However, 2 corrections: 1. 2023 E63S is available in both wagon and sedan form as FINAL EDITION V8 TT. I am taking delivery of my wagon next week. @@timmietz I daily an RS6, I'm stating that so you know that I'm a bit biased. I agree on that the RS6 could have been done a bit more aggressive. It's not like they couldn't, the URUS has the same engine and it has 657HP and it sounds amazing! But the handling, I think is better on the RS. I only drove the E63S a few times and to me the RS handles nicer with the 4-wheel steering. On the RS mode it's amazing and in auto or confort, it feels like an S-Class. I agree with you that maybe the Audi performance might be the one to have, for now though, I'm tuning mine, new inlet, new exhaust and I got a killer ride! (no warranty though) LOL

"New things get hate and as tinw goes on they get accepted " that defines how I feel about other hosts Doug, I really appreciate seeing Kennan and Alanis now :') ❤️ (I even feel dumb for disliking them in the first place 😶) Also: I hope this becomes a future classic (But I don't think it will) the Toyota GR 86 it might very well be the end of the line for the 86 and even among the current sports cars it represents something that doesn't exist anymore (other than the MX-5) small, lightweight, reasonably powered cars that are full of feel 🥰❤️ (A.K.A. Just my cup of tea 🥰)

Some other cars I feel will become valuable/collectible are the F-150 RAPTOR & RAPTOR-R, the Bronco Raptor, and the TRX. The combination of big engine supercharged power and big off-road trucks will make for amazing collectors cars in the future.
Unless those types of cars get banned for some reason... I don't think so. There will be another faster and better version and they will sell a bunch because that's where the market is
Nah, light trucks are not subjective to emission standards. Only big engines in cars will be gone. American will always find a way to put big engines in their trucks.
Since you brought up color, which is a issue that I have discussed for a long time, I'd be interested in hearing you discuss this more. I talked with a person who was a brand manager at Chrysler and asked why there are so many black, white and silver cars sold. He said that it was because those are the colors that people want. I countered with the idea that most people purchase their vehicles out of dealer stock, and black, white and silver vehicles are what dealers order, so that is what people purchase. Other than my first car that was purchased out of dealer stock in 1985, I have since always ordered my vehicles so that I can get them the way I want them, including an interesting color. My current Wrangler is Commando Green (a color people either love or hate). The previous Jeep was Cactus Green. I currently own a Plum Crazy purple Challenger, and we had a Toxic Orange Charger. We only had three black cars (I dislike black cars, but my wife likes them.)
Because it's safe. People buying new cars think about resale value. Most people don't want cars with vibrant color, they think it makes them easy target for car jack or getting pulled over, which may or may not be true.
Doug, your comment on hated cars getting attention and being desired later is a good insight. In India, we had a car called the Nano. Everybody hated it brand new. The production stopped in 2018. Now a lot of people want one because it’s a tiny rear wheel rear engined car and the roads are getting jam packed.

This was a great format for you guys. Solid contributions 👌
The on screen chemistry between Doug and the new presenters is improving nicely, much more natural 👍
Doug & Alanis > Doug & Kenan
@@AdamG1983I think Kennan needs to find his niche of knowledge and know when to assert himself, without developing that skill he's going to struggle against his co-presenters, who in all fairness are quite outspoken
The E63 AMG is available for 2023 as a final model year run. They did bring it back!
Yeah like who is this video for? These 3 rich guys should have this discussion off camera. Pointless video for the rest of us
I think they missed the Lexus GX460, especially the limited edition in Nori Green Pearl color.. and its the last toyota v8 to be made
Doug you absolutely must buy the off road lambo. It's so up your alley it would be a waste for them to have made them if you do not get one.
Doug et al - FINALLY a forum, that is interesting and participatory by everyone, not just Doug. MORE PLEASE.
Definitely the new Bronco. Even with its problems, it's a huge hit here in the US.
I live in Buffalo and they’re legitimately everywhere.
And then people sell them quick too.
There are Dozens of the full sized used ones for sale here in the Raleigh NC area
3:46 Doug is right on this, at least with my C4 Corvette. people are really starting to love these things
The dream team. Keep up the good work, guys!
Drive it! You will regret the money lost if it becomes collectible, but you will regret not enjoying it whether it does or does not.
That electric hummer; somehow don't think it will sell, but still a very big 'change of era' icon.
Doug’s the type of guy that says, “this is the last of the naturally aspirated…” about every naturally aspirated car.
If they are all releasing at the same time they all are
There's only a few big NA engine cars left in the market. He can only say that so few times, might enjoy saing that while he can.
Really love this format, almost like a podcast. I look forward to more, keep up the good work guys!
love this format, it’s def a great addition to the channel
She was in the lake in her bronco!? man what a silly goose, too cool
"It's tough to make predictions, especially about the future."
- Yogi Berra
I predict that my phone will be replaced before it reaches 10 years old.
Along with the Civic Type R I think the new Integra Type S will be desirable and collectable in the future too.
Should definitely do a part 2 to this topic
Feels like the late 60’s and early 70’s when it comes to cars. Economically too, it feels like similar time period all around.
All these cars will look amazing in 30 years because in the future, all the cars will look like slightly different bars of soap.
This is gonna be controversial, but I think in the future an unmodified, good condition Kia Stinger will be collectible car.
Taurus sho type cult car imo
I think the ct5v blackwing will be collectible
Only with the manual.
This is what the channel does best and it's so good now.
Absolutely love everything about this! Keep up the great content!!!
The banter in this video is top tier. Love your work
A buddy of mine bought a fully loaded 2019 C63s, and I think it's going to age really well off the fact they went from a hand built V8 to the electric 4 cylinder. It just sounds so nice.
nah dude. the 6.2 c63 AMG is the real deal which is going to increase in price
@@comedyman112 the v8 was the entire point of the car lmao
@@Eminetics so was the big ass 6.2
@@comedyman112the C63 Black Series will be even more desirable than the regular W204 C63. Still, any 6.2/6.3 AMG will be desirable, as well as any V12 model.
@@comedyman112 Yeah those NA engines are awesome, I think most the V8's in the smaller cars are going to be big hits.
If I wanted to buy a fun sports car, I would go ICE+Manual, but here in Europe we have a few long-legged electric city hot hatches that are a blast to drive, so I think I would pick that for a fun good-for-everything kind of car. I think golf gti like vehicles might be surprisingly easier to substitute than we think
I take back questioning Doug’s evolution of the content. Adding Keenan an Alanis are 100% legitimate and I love seeing them agree and contest Doug’s views in this video. I’m on team car dorks and the more on our team the better! Well done Doug
Sustainability of future modern classics would be a real challenge I suppose.
People said the same thing when fuel injection and ECUs were introduced. EV and Hybrid tech will become commonplace, and mechanics, tunners, and enthusiasts will learn how to work with it the same way they learned with every other major tech shift.
@@WatanabeNoTsuna.
I totally agree!
By the way, to easily find a guy able to fine tune a twin barrel Weber carb is becoming harder now.
Everything has its cycle as generations passes away.
Thank you for the exchange of thoughts
JP
So something like a collectible Ferrari that gets driven a few times a year will not need huge amounts of service where as an collectible EV that doesn't get much use will likely need a battery after a few years
Considering lithium ion batteries is not sustainable we are going to have issues. There are not enough mines at the moment. And then there’s the toxic nightmare at EOL. It’s being rushed and it won’t be good for the commoners.
Im totaly agree with you.The revolution we will see in the futur will be the same as the oil lamp vs electric bulb . Only the Rich continue to use oil . And With this change the gasoline car will appreciate and special one even more.
I love this! Are you gonna buy each car and do a top gear special?! 😁
Im suprised nobody mentioned the lexus is500. Naturally aspirated v8 in a luxury sedan that will last 50 years...unheard of
For me the Mustang dark horse has to be a remarkable time capsule that will fetch a pretty penny in a couple years not a lot of 8 cylinders running around and the Mustang is definitely a legendary one that will be missed.
I disagree. I think the styling went downhill and the interior looks nothing like a mustang plus the lack of any real physical controls. It will become dated by that. Plus the lack of aftermarket support and tuning will severely hurt it.
I also think the Honda E might become very collectible.
@@Blue_Flame_Raptor nicest looking mustang of the retro gen. Who cares about the interior? Should they have the 2005 interior in there?🙄
@stardogMLB I care about the interior in the 70k overpriced car. The 18-23 looks great, perfect blend of modern and classic. Sure the materials aren't the best but the 2024 isn't either, it lost all of its character and traded it for an iPad. The car was designed for 20 year old but is priced for a 50 year old
It’s just a slightly upgraded gt
Imagine having/owning an auction site and those same owners have the influential power to hype the cars that will be selling in that same aution site.
Very well thought out lists. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and predictions from all three of you. Cheers.
Love this format, its a great listen while im driving or have my headphones in doing work. Keep it up im all for it!
Great choice of the E63S! However, 2 corrections:
1. 2023 E63S is available in both wagon and sedan form as FINAL EDITION V8 TT. I am taking delivery of my wagon next week. The US is getting about 400 copies I think.
2. Next gen E63 power train has been announced already: straight 6 TT with a Hybrid.
How about the Audi RS6? Last V8 from Audi (they already said the next one will be electric).
@@alejandronasio7751 so, the RS6 performance is not for sale in the US, yet. Regular RS6 was a bit of a disappointment for me, personally. I like the way E63S handles and sounds a lot more that the RS6. As me again next year when the RS6 Performance comes to the US.
@@timmietz I daily an RS6, I'm stating that so you know that I'm a bit biased. I agree on that the RS6 could have been done a bit more aggressive. I have no idea why Audi, knowing already what their direct competition was doing went a few HP lower and a bit less noise.
BMW M cars won’t last long enough to be a collector car, they all self destruct by 100k miles
Thr Plymouth Road runner is already a collectible. Costs upwards of 200k.
My addition: the subaru wrx sti
Only if it’s completely stock. People destroy them just like Evos.
Best one yet with the new crew! Can't wait for the future.
Dealerships were the issue with the golf color choices i tried to order at a bunch of Dealerships. None would take a orderb
Kenneth is really starting to find his groove, great pick for a co host Doug!
The manual cars are missed more in the US because they were on autos for so long.
Yeah, standard trans is more fun. I bet if auto makers kept up on solid v6, standard transmission cars, people would buy them. The turbo 4-cylis are just not a good investment for long-term enthusiast enjoyment.
think the Camaro ZR1 1LE is the one to get now. love the channel, we are trying to do an Auction related channel...very hard to get the views even started.
This would make a great (audio) podcast leveraging chapter dividers and chapter art to show the slides you add to the video. Please consider making that!
Combustion engines might be a thing of the past but they're damn sure not going to be replaced by ev's
I’m surprised none of the three of them said the 2023 Audi R8 GT. It’s the end of the run for the R8 and it’s their top of the line R8. Also the end of Audi’s naturally aspirated V10.
Absolutely. Id put that at the top 3 cars id hope to be on the list.
An Aston Martin cygnet will be priceless
"New things get hate and as tinw goes on they get accepted " that defines how I feel about other hosts Doug, I really appreciate seeing Kennan and Alanis now :') ❤️ (I even feel dumb for disliking them in the first place 😶)
Also: I hope this becomes a future classic (But I don't think it will) the Toyota GR 86 it might very well be the end of the line for the 86 and even among the current sports cars it represents something that doesn't exist anymore (other than the MX-5) small, lightweight, reasonably powered cars that are full of feel 🥰❤️ (A.K.A. Just my cup of tea 🥰)
I don't mind Konan and Atlantis in these sit down videos
the question is : will you still find gas stations in 2050 ? and if yes , at WHAT PRICE ?
I wonder of there will be no gas station , what will happen to the land . Its contaminated with chemicals will it it be worth it. Or will energy companies invest converting there petrol stations into mass ev ports
They will all be converted
Rolls Royce has openly said they have been developing an electric car for years and it literally just started giving reviewers test rides in it.
They won't be collected because there's too many of them around. Like millions in the US
Lucid’s biggest mistake was releasing a SEDAN in a market that is going insane for big SUV’s, crossovers and trucks
12:42 Doug remember when you drove a white hellcat and you almost crashed it because you turned of traction control and it was raining 🌧️
im glad everyone is coming around to kennan and alanis, theyre both great additions to the channel
The chemistry between these three is fantastic! I absolutely loved this video, but man I got kinda sad when you guys mentioned that the days of big engine, gas powered cars are coming to an end.
Awesome cars. How about a segment on affordable cars that might become collectables. My list: The 2002-05 Ford T-Bird, Chrysler Crossfire, Porsche Boxster, 2005 Ford Mustang,
New M2 looks amazing and I don’t like bimmers at all. Sorry but anything with fender flares and a 6 speed in 2023 is bad ass in my book.
I think the m2 styling will be far more iconic than the new m3 and m4. I think the blocky/Lego design will age well.
@@PcarNess Seeing one in person with that light blue color changed everything.
