Malate serves as an important component in the tricarboxylic (or TCA) cycle, which is one way your body produces energy. When you increase malate levels, you increase energy production. Therefore, citrulline malate provides the one-two punch of bringing additional blood-and subsequently, oxygen and nutrients-to exercising muscles, as well as providing increased energy to boost performance levels.
The malate, what's so good about this? We can just take Apple Cider Vinegar and that will help with the breakdown and better absorption of the L-Citruline I would assume
The problem with having Citrulline Malate is that it’s hygrogonic, so what you should do is put in L-Citrulline and Malic Acid separately in your preworkout. This allows you to include both raw ingredients so 1. people know exactly what dose and what product they are consuming, and 2. you can control the quality of each to make sure it is top tier (Citrulline-Malate usually is lower quality and isn’t as good at being absorbed as both ingredients raw).
Yes, malic acid is dirt cheap. Even if malic acid has studies to prove it is effective, why wouldn't one buy it separately and then mix it into your citrulline
The whole point of citrulline malate is that the citrulline is bonded to malic acid to enhance the absorption. If it is separate then you might as well be taking citrulline on its own.
The problem with some citrulline malate supplements is that they're not chemically bonded just mixed together so you may as well just have l citrulline in there if thats the case.
but what difference it would make ? malic acid + ctrulline should have the same effect as citrulline-malate. Maybe from an absorption point of view. But I guess once in the plasma it will be hydrolyzed.

Why the 'L' in front of the amino acid? I see this sometimes like 'L-Glutamine'. Does it mean something or is that just the formal name for the amino acid?
those are the two forms amino acids occur in, excluding one or two of which i can't remember. it has something to do with the placement of hydrogen atoms around the central carbon. and all 4 must be different to have an L and D form
The l group are directly incorporated into proteins the ds are not lets take aspartic acid a non essential amibo for example the d form in daspartic acids used in bodybuildig but l aspartic acid has no bodybuilding purpose or rather a valuable bodybuilsing purpose
L stand for Levo, an extremely simplified explanation is there are right and left isomers in a compound the L is Levo or left and the D is the right but our brains and bodies work better in L versions.

Citrulline Malate powder tastes horrible and I'm not that picky but when you try to mix it with a protein shake 🤢 That's why I switched to
L Citrulline powder, more pure and flavorless.
Makes total sense.
Very
Nice
Thanks
Hey Jim,
You have the best supplements on the market hands down. Do you think you'll ever come out with an omega-3 as well? Just curious. Thanks for the amazing products, but more importantly thanks for the knowledge!
lol you want to pay this dude to private label a cheap omega 3 so he can charge you 5 x more? riduculous!!!!
@@thehawkguyX Straight-up..
..funny as hell!! 😅😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The Russian dude saling his bullcrap supp
What it we take creatine monohydrate + L-citrulline , i think will be more superior
If you took l Citruline beta alanine.AND cofee that is basically a pre workout
@@nolesy34 i don't want beta-alinine basically , n it's not about pre-workout actually
@@manisaini4885 yes and no
Beta alanine will only buffer the lactic acid,
Whereas Citruline will MAKE ATP
No company can guarantee 2:1 in each scoop let alone in each container but
So the bottom line is the one with maleate. (Urea)is better.....please correct....thank you.
Do you sell a pre workout specifically designed for CrossFit?
Thanks for the info...
How long before the workout do you take it !
Very interesting I am interested for cancer patients. As you need good oxygen flow for oxidative phosphorylation otherwise you move into fermentation after glycolysis. Also comment on Nad+ the precursor to vitamin b3 in a more effective form for the nad to nadh ratio of the kerbs cycle?
Is it okay to dry scoop pre JYM PW , i drink plenty of water after
You dont want to dry scoop. The ingredients must get into solution
Can we take both creatine and malate at the same day
4:51 I’m sorry but I’m bad at math. How do you do the math for that? How does that ratio work? How does 6g get 4 actual grams of Citruline? Thanks
For someone who's taking creatine for atp production, can he only buy citrulline rathan than citrulline mala te?
Pls do a video on your JYM Testosterone Boosters. Thank you!
Why the 'L' in front of the amino acid? I see this sometimes like 'L-Glutamine'. Does it mean something or is that just the formal name for the amino acid?
those are the two forms amino acids occur in, excluding one or two of which i can't remember. it has something to do with the placement of hydrogen atoms around the central carbon. and all 4 must be different to have an L and D form
whats the difference?
The l group are directly incorporated into proteins the ds are not lets take aspartic acid a non essential amibo for example the d form in daspartic acids used in bodybuildig but l aspartic acid has no bodybuilding purpose or rather a valuable bodybuilsing purpose
L stand for Levo, an extremely simplified explanation is there are right and left isomers in a compound the L is Levo or left and the D is the right but our brains and bodies work better in L versions.

What is Malate??
Just came across your video and thought i was good.
When i first saw you i thought you were an off brand Bautista
Can I take l cetruline and NO same time?
What’s the count on how many times he said the word Citruline
Well thats what the video is about ;-)
How many capsules should I take In a day?
So which is better? I am having ED.. my age 63 and been taking high blood pressure and cholesterol medication please advise
You want L citrulline and betaine. 6,500-8,000 mg L citrulline(ALOT of watermelon)
650-1,000 mg betaine anhydrous(beet juice
You come for 6:10
Thank you man 🙏🏿😂
The one thing I disagree with you is the part about not wanting to leave the gym afterward 💀💀💀💀 Once I finish my last set I want to be carried to the tub lol
A true gym rat will not leave until they are forced out lol, I personally know
Can I take 6000mg of L-Citrulline capsules before workout? I currently use Mutant Mayhem. All it does is make me sweat.
Pretty sure he's got this completely backwards.
Consider three alternatives:
(A) 6 grams of 'shitty,' 1-2 ratio, citrulline malate that gives *2* grams l-citrulline per serving.
(B) 6 grams of Jim's 'deluxe,' 2-1 ratio, citrulline malate that gives *4* grams l-citrulline per serving.
(C) 6 grams of plain L-citrulline that gives *6* grams of l-citrulline per serving.
And all these three things are supposed to be true
-B is better than A because B contains 2g more citrulline than A per 6g serving.
-C contains 2g more citrulline than B per 6g serving.
-There's absolutely no conceivable reason why C might possibly be better than B.
C is the best answer. Malic acid IS EVERYWHERE. Id rather be under doses of malic acid then CITRULLINE..... Bai tea drinks have some malic in them. I drink one of them with L cit and feel good
Jim what is DL Malate is it the real deal or synthetic crap.
under dosed L citruline and high amount of caffeine.
I have L citruline malate
Question L arginine seems to cause gout attacks in my feet. Do you think this will also.
Any recommended brands ?
Is it possible to add creatine with L - citrulline
Yes but you need a carrier for the creatine such as leucine or carbs as well.
Can women take this ?
no, women are not allowed to supplement. jk lol
@@thehawkguy true.Because they are women and weee are men.😁
Yes there's no issue in women taking it
What if i take 6g of it and i have to go to toilet in around 20mins for a one good "shot" and then im good agine .. does it mean its not for me // serious Q
yes. not for you. try pure l citruline
That's not good. Definitely take L-Citrilline. Costs more but is worth it
Can you suggest a brand
Excellent video. Thanks boss
!
I get heavy acid reflux from my dose if citrulline malate in water. Is there a way to mitigate this? Can you put it in capsules?
Stop taking it. It will only increase your acidity. Find another supplement maybe?
Can i take creatine and no storm pre workout with l citr... And citril mal... All 3 together please tell
Thanks for saving us from so called experts.
