cant believe those giant possibly ancient trees have been reduced to 1in by 1in twigs, couldnt you produce the same product from a much slimmer fast growing renewable source, such as pine, and save the massive lumps for larger planks at the very least, better still leave the anciernt woodland alone and grow your own wood like we do here in the uk, mind you thats probably only because we already chopped down all of our ancient woodland centuries ago, theirs absolutely no reason for choppjng down large slow growing trees for any reason since we have a thing called glue, and we can make our own timber from any size tree, like them giant trusses you see from laminated wood, really pains me to see those beauties reduced to nothing, all of your product will be rotted out in about a year, so those entire trees will be nought but chipboard soon, probably already is, by the time is saw this video,already gone, shame

How do you know they don't have them on to begin with? This is on the other side of the world and since less machinery and more manual labor is involved. Communication between the team members is crucial in preventing deaths and increasing production. Everyone knows a dude stuck in the conveyor stops production which equals loss of revenue. It doesn't matter how many trees you cut as how many you plant! The key to essentially an almost unlimited resource like lumber is to plant 4-6 trees for each one you harvest, and second utilize as close to 100% of the tree as you can. Lumber, chips, and the saw dust all utilized. I love trees, I've planted many, harvested some and rejoice in their beauty, whether towering over head, in a beautiful piece of furniture, or crackling in a fireplace. Treat them with reverence while understanding they can be a limitless renewable resource, or clear cut to extinction. It's up to all of us but the solution isn't to stop harvesting trees.

I'm sure they know what they are doing with their timbers, the whole factory designed to cut that timbers to make 2x2, probably the efficient way possible, the amount of production is very high and the key is speed, not waste.
why is it a waste? yes 2x2s and 2x1,5s which they seam to make at the moment seams small but i for example is putting more insulation on my house atm by 2 layers 2 inch insulation so i use crossframing by using 2x2s + a layer of 2x 1,5s on the outside to create an airgap between the insulation and the cladding. in norway you rarely see bigger than 2inch lumber if you need say a 12x12,, YOU GLUE AND SCREW 6X 2X12 TOGHETHER WHICH IS WAY STRONGER THAN A SINGLE LOG, WHICH OFTEN HAVE WEAK SPOTS IF SAY WEAKEND BY A CRACK ORE A TWIG ORE BRANCHSPOT. of course say a 2x12 can have weak spots too! but if you say create a load bearing beam, its easyer to pick GOOD lumber by using smaller dimensions.
