Strapping the case makes all the difference. On my KLR650 I ran power from my battery to the box. You can get a waterproof SAE connector you can seal to the outside of the box, then plug into the inside. - Frank

Nice! Very clean setup. I used to charge similar to that in a tank bag, but I really don't like riding with one, unless I am only street riding. You have a lot of stuff running on a small bike, any worry of the stator not being able to keep up?
Yes, true, tank bags aren’t for everyone. I’m lucky to have legs like a giraffe 🤣
As for the stator keeping up: I get asked that a lot. So far so good, no issues. I have the volt meter so I can monitor it’s output and I don’t have it plugged in all the time, only when I know I need to charge. But I have killed the battery before by mistakingly leaving the Zumo on.

Nice setup you've got there and good job on making the bag work for you. Do you ever find that it gets hot inside with all that gear charging? And does the bike provide enough juice or is the charging a bit slow? Cheers!

As for your questions: I have not yet found the bag to get any hotter when charging compared to when I’m not charging, although the grey Giant Loop gear is a bit cooler. To date, the stator on the bike has been producing ample power. I did swap all my bulbs to LED to help minimize power draw. The charging speed is not as fast as it would be if you plugged into a wall but it does keep things charged. I could get a larger stator fur the bike to increase charging speed plus I have the option with my setup to charge only one thing at a time if I chose. The usb on the tower is waterproof but I typically don’t chance it and unplug when riding in rain.

As for Bluetooth coms: I personally use the SENA but in all honesty I always seem to have issues trying to pair with other riders. Summer and Kevin use one of the Amazon knock offs and it’s worked flawlessly for them. The Cardos always get great reviews but are not without their issues as well. Best advice I could give would be try to get the same brand or at least a compatible brand as the others you regularly ride with. Good luck 👍🏻
