"I'm walkin' here, I'm walkin' here!" great line from a great movie! Anyway, great video Tom, this could have easily been a 20 hour video never mind 20 minutes with the amount of mob stories that could be told! Great quality video too, really good to see your channel still going from strength to strength, keep it going my man. I'm back in NYC myself soon, be cool to have a quick meet up if you're available, I'll buy you a coffee and a hot dog in appreciation of all your great videos!
Hey Tom. PayPal'd you today in appreciation of your videos, hope to visit NYC one day. Did you ever do a tour pointing out the house where Peggy Googenheim used to live?
U have become one of my favorite youtubers lately. You should definitely sign up to b one of the first tour guides for the meta verse. Seriously. Theyre gonna need some. U should become rich off ur talents. Look into it man. 🙏🏼 stay blessed
You should do a video on old notorious mob social clubs. Gotti's two clubs Ravenite and Bergin Hunt and Fish Club, DeMeo's Gemini Lounge, Scarpa's Wimpy Boys Social Club, etc. It'll be interesting to see what they look like today. This will get big views.
This was really well done. I had considered doing a similar vlog - but you did an incredible job and I could no way come as close. Any thoughts of covering the Goodfellas spots (robert’s lounge) and or Donnie Brasco spots (motion lounge)?
Fun fact: Big Tim Sullivan (9:03) did indeed help bankroll numerous theaters in New York, many of which were owned by a man named William Fox who later moved into film production. After he got into financial trouble his company was merged with 20th Century Pictures to become 20th Century Fox which later evolved into a renowned media conglomerate.
Right after you talked about the Rothstein story I was just thinking of coming on here and asking why you didn’t talk about the Anastasia hit and then…. You did! Lol Very sneaky! Great idea to talk about these mob hits. Keep up the great work man!
Hopefully one day u can get access to some of the buildings and rooms where mob history happen. Like maranzanos office . Lucky 39 c apartment. And the room they shot Arnold Roth stein in
I'm from Illinois and just moved to Long Island last year. The 1919 World Series the Chicago White Sox were named the Black Sox after this. Cool to see where it originated.
Hi Tom, Another great video, Arnold Rothstein was killed on my birtdhay ,though 21 years before I came into the world. The actual barber chair that Albert Anastasia was killed it still exits. It's owned by a New York lawyer and is in his office. I'll to send a link to one of your videos to a friend of mine that lived in New York.
Agree that Tom is sensational. Still, there’s no need to disparage AK’s work in the process. Just make your choice of what you’d like to watch, and, as Tom would say, “Chill Out”!
This is crazy! I moved to NYC a few years ago and am still learning about the Mafia just in general. I get off at the 57th stop most day and pass that hotel and Starbucks all the time! I didn’t know the Starbucks was where the barbershop hit was 😳
This is extremely interesting 🙂, even though these gangsters were vicious men and criminals , with little regard for anyone, they still hold a fascination for many people . 🍒 This is the type of information that your viewers will love to share !
Best video so far!!! I like the idea of showing us historic sites not necessarily in the same area 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Btw. I hope next time I’m it NYC you are not filming at the same time and we can go for a tour 🙌🏼 ✌🏼
I worked on W 46th Street across from what was then Caesar's Retreat an infamous upscale brothel. In 1985 we had taken clients to holiday lunch at Sparks the day Paul Castellano was shot.
In 1999 I was walking to the subway up 6th Ave at 37th, when all of a sudden about 10-15 feet in front of my coworker and I, we witnessed a hit in broad daylight. the dude raised his gun about pointblank range from targets head and popped 2 shots off, and kept walking as if nothing happened. The target was instantly dead and we had no choice but to just keep walking there were so many people if we all stopped we would have had a pileup on the sidewalk, most did eventually stop and walk around and away, but that's New York. The shooter got to 48th where he was being handcuffed. Not sure what it was all about, but we ducked into the subway and realized the guy I was walking with pissed his pants, understandably I'd say.
I remember you mentioned how you’re from Tampa Bay Area. There is a big history in that area and the gulf coast. Back to the early 1900’s. Tranficanti’s and then the Marcello’s. Very interesting.
It took me 5 minutes to realise that it was Toms hair and not a fur collar on his coat 😂😂
Props for the shot of the woman doing lotto scratchers under the "HOPE" sign. Brilliant.
Thought she was racking up lines of coke lol
@@rocknrolladventures Stop! NYC not that bad yet
Gotta be in it, to win it 😉
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. We need more mob stories. Yay! Thank you.
Try a young guy on YT Mooney DashCam. Goes all over the 5 Boros, LI & Westchester telling Mob tales. It’s good 👍
Tom, this was the best tour and I'm going to watch it again!
This new camera is the bizzness. Love to see Toms journey of improvements.

I love the new NYC crime series. NYC is one of the crime capitals of the world and always has been. A great lot of history we can learn. Thanks, Tom!
The history of Organized Crime in the US, especially NYC is a fascinating topic, I completely agree.
Amazing video! Loving the new quality. Can't wait to see the next videos!

Hey Tom. PayPal'd you today in appreciation of your videos, hope to visit NYC one day. Did you ever do a tour pointing out the house where Peggy Googenheim used to live?

Thank you, another great TomDNYC vid! Which equipment did you upgrade from and which did you upgrade to?
This was a Black Magic pocket, I believe. I normally use a Canon 80d.
Wow the camera does make a great difference! Great quality content as always, thanks for showing us the hidden mob "gems"
VERY lesser-known places for most of us. Great video tour as always, Tom. 🏆

I laughed into the next story when you said
Starbucks is like Murder Ink.
HAAA, so true.
*Great video, editing and crisp-ness!
Murder Inc.
Enjoyed watching
Oh man. I used to always stay at the Park Central before I moved here. Never knew the mob history there! Great video as always.

One thing I do know, the gemini lounge is a church now lol. If only those walls inside could talk
It’s the eating on top of the garbage dumps for me 😂😂👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Great video!! We just recently stayed at Park Central 😳
I'm not used to all these static shots. Looks great! I'm also digging the new map illustrations. {catcall whistle}
great vid Tom as usual biggest crime in nyc was sharing a bathroom in the jane hotel

Is that globe in the background at 1:10 a miniature of the Unisphere from the '64-'65 World's Fair?

Thanks for this history, very informative and you have a great style to narrate it. cheers bud.
Tom is one of the best. Very informative without referring to google, like some others(AK). Mature in his comments unlike some others(AK).
Agree that Tom is sensational. Still, there’s no need to disparage AK’s work in the process. Just make your choice of what you’d like to watch, and, as Tom would say, “Chill Out”!
Geweldig Tom!
Awesome video! Very informative… The mob history is so thick in NY and very interesting

You're a funny guy!
While you were talking about the Waldorf-Astoria, your camera man was shooting the St Bartholomew Church. LoL.
