I love how no matter what car it is or how he feels about EVs you would never know. The energy and enthusiasm stays the same in every video that’s why joe is the best at what he does. The best in the business.
I know right?!? he's really good at hiding his biases, if he even has any. other channels should take notice.
👏👏👏
🚘 Joe and Doug DeMuro are good and fun car reviewers.
🚖 The Car Care Nut and German Autogefuehl are the two reviewers with more details!
I like all those four car UA-camrs 🤗👍
Agreed
Doug DeMuro is good too
Marked my calendar for the ride portion of Raiti’s Ride. Great review and hi to the queen Lori.
Fantastic Jeff! Lori is the best in the biz.
I love it. I just wish I had at least 250 to 300 or over miles of range, but hey, it's their first ev.
Tell me about it!
Honda is also coming out with their first EV and comes with about 300 miles. They could have done better.
Joe, as much as I really like the overall design of this BEV, that very limited range would be a deal breaker for me.
The limited range comes with another problem... According to the Lexus website, on a road trip, you can only do 3 sessions of DC fast charging in 12 hours. That's really bad for people who are taking longer road trips. Lexus clearly doesn't believe in BEVs. This vehicle is only here to make folks think they do. I used to drive a Lexus (had 3 of them). Not again. Giddyup, Lexus. Time to ride your palomino into the future.
Wow, I can't believe these are out already! These are nice and all, but I don't think the range is nearly good enough for the price
That is a very good point!
wrinbf buy it
The range and performance for the price tag is a huge miss for Lexus. Instead of competing with Tesla, they seem to be competing with its cheaper counter Toyota bZ4X. Which is disappointing.
I don't understand why you guys care about range so much?
Most people buy BEV for daily commute in the city. And almost nobody would buy an BEV as an only vehicle. You won't use a BEV for long trips like travelling to another city anyway. Is there a real difference between a 300 mile range to a 400 mile one?

Thank you for the entertaining shows!
Joe and Lori and keep up the good work and I love the video 👏 👍 💯💯💯
As a previous Lexus owner I fell in love with them. They are some of the most reliable cars. I was in three accidents and my car was barely damaged. I must note how much I love me some Lori. Joe she is the best videographer in the game. She does amazing work with her camera. Who edits your videos ?
Its odd and quirky but not bad lookin! Thanks for the review Joe. I love your channel
That front end looks awful. The interior side of the door is so bland, so are the wheels.
Thanks for making the trip out west. Not enough range and charging too slow. Just not a fan of this one, but a great review as usual. Thanks for bringing it to us.
Great Review Joe! I don’t know any Cowboys who would trade in their Big Diesel Trucks to ride in this BEV! LOL
They would rather drown in rising sea levels.
RZ or Grecale? I drive a 2022 NX. Exterior style is gorgeous, but interior feels cheap (vinyl and plastic). I might go for The Pasta Rocket, but the RZ in Iridium looked amazing in Black Panther.
The interior is fantastic. Waiting to see it in action.
Stay tuned! I have something special on the way
@@RaitisRides I do wonder what Toyotas suprise will be Joe 🤔
Is the starting of $53k accurate? I thought it was slated to start at $59 because $53k would make it cheaper than the NX 450H+ PHEV, right?
Hello Raiti. I will send you a big thanks for the proff way you showed us what we get with a RZ, it's just like our own experience with our Lexus RZ which we love and are glad we bought because this car has a smooth and comfortable driving experince at the highest level. We will not drive with a heavy battery we maybe will use some time in the future.
Thank you so much for saying that and for sharing your ownership input on this one.
Before this video, I was on the Lexus UA-cam channel with the documentary of the creation of the Lexus RZ450e. It's awesome, it's a must see!

Thanks for letting me share it with you Susan
Nice review. Like the hide away cargo cover and the golf club cutouts. In this case the individual parts are better than the whole. Having owned a few Lexus products I feel their styling has gone downhill. Just because a car is electric doesn't mean it has to look goofy. This is an around town car and seems pricey to me.
It’s because it’s priced up to adjust for the EV tax credit and it also costs toyota a shit ton of money to produce because they took too long to develop an EV platform
Love the review. Starting at $53k, but yours equipped is $61k. Like to know where $8k worth of options are? Also 220 range that sucks. Thought that was only on the prototype.
Was thinking of trading in my 2022 NX 350h for this, but now I am thinking of staying with the NX.
I would stick with your NX.

Always a great job Joseph. There are cars that make you go "OOOOO" and then there are ones that make you go " EEWWW" and this is on of those cars.
One less in the queue.
I will be tuning in next week to watch those driving hopefully charging impression.
Uuu that lower panel gap @10:32 is big enough i fit a calzone in there :) I'm sure it's not Lexus build quality, somebody probably desperately tried to open the non existing glove compartment. Anyway, great video as always, looking forward for the on throttle!
Does no-one else notice around the 10:30 mark the piece of trim that looks like it's falling apart at the seams? I expected better quality control coming from Lexus. 😳

@@RaitisRides 🤣
Just looking at the left front quarter panel, wheel well, and charging port: Looks very bleh and understyled, as if toyota ran out of shaping ideas and decided to throw on a fender trim taken from another car. And am I seeing a large gap in the left front fender trim? The rest of it looks great, I think a style refresh down the road will be amazing
Some very interesting features but $61k and only a prop rod. The 220 mile range is on the low side and no rear wiper for snowy climes is a definite oversight.
The crack on the side of the glovebox and cheap materials sold it to me ❤
Lexus are the world's most reliable cars. But that's all they are good for. Their interior leave much to be desired, and the tech is a little lackluster. Performance isn't bad reminds me of a low entry jaguar suv. Which are good feeling wise
I remeber a small jag crossover was suv buy of the year last year I think
Great video love you buddy
Thanks man fir the support
You’re a bozo and know nothing about cars.
The reliability line between EV fades away because batteries are mechanically simpler and less likely to have issues. I don’t think this car is more reliable than the EVs from Kia, Nissan, Audi, BMW, etc.
And this car front end is awful.
I am a big Lexus fan. Four RX 350s purchased. Way too many prominent lines at the charging port, wheel well and door. Need more monochromatic appeal as opposed to the material surrounding the wheel well. Diminishes luxury look as do the wheels themselves. The rear needs to be smoothed out; too many distracting lines. Pontiac Aztek overall approach. The two wings just add to the visual clutter. Regardless, I love my current RX 350.. HIGHLY reliable. Beautiful driving experience. My car is a 2022, Nebula Grey: FABULOUS paint that they use.
Goodness was this a preproduction model? Did you guys see that large panel gap where the glove compartment usually goes? Never seen such a flaw in a Lexus before.
Lexus and Totoyra reliability will fade away in the EV realm. Mechanically there’s not much difference in powertrains between EVs.
@@jz7551 I disagree. While the componentry may be similar, the fit and finish is something that every manufacturer (some better than others) can control especially when it comes to the interiors.
10:55 The finish on the right side is catastrophic!
It’s a preproduction model
@@MattCC16Gaming a very ugly one
I wish Toyota put more investment into hydrogen technology. Not sure about the BEVs. The time for recharge and the access to charging stations are still issues for me.
They're putting enough investment into it. They get knocked by close-minded people who say "hydrogen won't work, it's too expensive" blah blah blah. BEVs are further along so Toyota has to go with market demands. This car is interim. Toyota is working on getting the cost to make these down because that's where Tesla excels. Lexus will lead and I think some of the car designs Lexus has shown are absolutely terrific.
It is going to be interesting to see how it all pans out.
Wish the range was longer. And what about being able to lock registration and valuables in the glove box? Will the car makers think about this?
That is a great question.
I can’t believe it only managed 220 miles of total range for a vehicle costing over +60K USD! 😂
I will pass, this doesn't live up to lexus standards very disappointed 😒
Hey, Joe this is a good looking futuristic SUV, however I don't know if the average American has access to charging stations just yet so that it is convenient for them to charge their cars.???.
That is the challenge
Now that’s a vehicle I cannot ignore.
Heard anything on 2500 Silverado zr2 joe?
Looks amazing, but I think there's one zonk you forgot to mention, if the whole glass sunroof can't be opened, then what is that crossbar even doing there? 🤔
I take that you have not look up Mechanical Engineering?
I go surfing in Encinitas 🙂 Welcome to San Diego, Joe!
Oh wow that is so cool Alex!
Everything looks great except that range Nice review like always.🥂
whats up with the glove box area bottom right corner @10:50 looks like bad build quality

It was beautiful car but we’re all need to know how much for replace the battery for this crossover SUV I don’t want anything happen like Tesla did after people buy it. I don’t want to see anything ripped off but want to see the honest answer and I know it not the same as Hybird cars

The car is so bland. It has nothing special. Seriously.
It can do without the black trim along the bottom and the wheel wells. The color is striking though. The car is sharp and I dig the interior.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one Bryan!
I'll take hybrid equipped with regenerate braking which charges battery without charging, that said choose very before purchasing an full EV..
They were supposedly actually genna put the yoke steering wheel in the rz with that interesting steering tech... looks like it didn't make production in the end.
Actually it’s an option.
It's made production. But they're going conventional at first and it is an option.
These cowboy jokes 😂. Never change, Raiti
Looks nice .. not a fan of the rims … also heard body color fenders are coming, I think that would look nice

That's a sharp looking ride!
Looks terrible, specially the front end.
Can't forget the Bev!
I don’t like the rims on this one at all and I’m sure the range is under 200 miles if you drive 70 and have the a/c or heater on. I’m an NX fan and will stick with that for awhile. My local Lexus dealer already has a used RZ available with less than 300 miles on it. I’d like to read the review from whoever turned that one in. I always enjoy your reviews though.

Good first review Joe and Lori. I’m not a fan of this Lexus. The styling is over the top,(the black fender flares spell cheap @ unnecessary IMO), the range is mediocre and I didn’t find the interior luxurious. It seems practical enough but to me, it’s more top level Toyota than Lexus. If you’re looking at BEV’s at this price point, there are better choices mainly the Koreans.
Do the wheels come off like in the Toyota counterpart?
Can we stop with this "joke"? It's really tired now. And do you realize that no customers' wheels broke off of Toyota bZs like they did with Teslas? And if you don't know what I'm talking about Google whompy wheels. Toyota caught the problem before people got injured at least.
@@benjaminsmith2287 Toyota has been criticized for pushing back its EV agenda, claiming they'd be ready when the time came for the shift. It's hilarious that a brand that touts their legendary reliability fails miserably at designing such a basic element of a road vehicle.
Also, I couldn't care less that you want this joke to stop. We live in a free society, and it is the internet's very soul to keep it that way. Sorry, you'll have to learn to put out with it.

I don't think it's expensive. The problem is the specs but cars aren't just about specs.
What's the point of the "embargo"? I want to hear how it drives. Now we see the car and then have to wait 12 days before the driving impressions are posted. I think the car looks fine. At least you got the one with the lighter interior. It's fairly understated. The stuff about range doesn't interest me. It's a vehicle and I care about the vehicle aspects first: build quality, NVH levels, useful acceleration, ride, quietness, comfort, space and then if the interface works reasonably well. What actually interest me about this car is not what is in this model: the variable steer by wire steering.
Lexus is the boss.
embargo really are the dumbest thing
Thanks for the great review. I’ve been tracking the arrival of this “BEV”. The price $53K is a fair price, but I doubt it will be the same price in Hawaii. I love the light blue color, it’s way better than all the other bright kiddie blue vehicles out there. The design is awesome. Sleek curves on the body and well planned painted color that adds to the overall look of the car. The interior is beautiful, love the contrast black and palomino combo. Glad to see that it’s spacious enough to fit adult size people. I was worried that the glass roof would be hot but you mention the opaque feature, no worries anymore! It really seems like a perfect car to me. I just need to know what’s going to be the price hike once it hits Hawaii. Thanks again!

Looks awful
I'm really into this
I’m so glad that I could bring it to you
nx you can bump your head when sit up in the back, this is shorter than nx?!
Seat is lower though.
One of the better looking dashboards for Toyota/Lexus. Doesn't have the "screen" jutting out starkly from the dash. At least 2000lbs overweight! Rather have a steel roof. Glass panels with no shades? That's got to get hot and from certain angles the sun will bean ya. Would prefer a bold exterior color and all the black exterior color matched and the trim around the windows/beltline bright metal. Way too heavy, though for the size of vehicle.
When are you going to drive this vehicle?
Love the design, wish it could have been on the RX. 😢
great car
I never understand the issue with the car having a frunk before electric vehicle cars didn’t have it
You are right but some people now see it is possible with an EV to have one
Nice try from Lexus, but consider longer range, bigger screen, better charging network and cheaper the price I would sacrifice some quality and luxury to get the model Y instead.
A Lexus review! Let me grab my popcorn and get a front row seat!
Awesome David! Get some extra pop corn
Sumptuous interior coupled with a very bold exterior. Realistic price with an unrealistic range. Keep trying, Lexus.
-Islandon
Great looking BEV, but that poor range kills it. If you get the 20" wheel option, I heard it drops to ~190 range, which is a big let down....
For some reason, it looks more like a wagon due to how low it is to the ground. Maybe it is a crossover wagon and not a SUV.
The infotainment screen looks aesthetically cheap for a Lexus product. Using the Toyota system doesn't scream luxury vehicle to me.
Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq and Nissan Ariya are way better than this.
what a shame when you say "very responsive touch screen" when in fact it's just lag as hell while you are touching it
Wow the range (for me) is problematic… I would have preferred for it to have a range of at least 300 miles or so…
That would have been so much better!
No solar panel skin, the front looks like it should be the back.
Not ready yet.
