  • Paul Anderson interviews acclaimed traditional singer in Cotmore Cottage near Tarland in Aberdeenshire. Jock was until his passing on the 25th of March 2021 Scotland's greatest tradition bearer. The two hours of unedited footage was recorded in 2010 for an unaired TV pilot called "Fiddler on the Hoof".

    Foo auld wid jock be? My granda first let ma hear his singing an at wis a gie few ear ago fan i was a wee loonie, nigh on 40 ear ago, i sang wis the stae man if i mind richt

      Jock would've been in his early 80's when this was filmed around 2011 but he sadly passed away on the 25th of March this year (I think he might've been about 94 but not quite sure). Thanks for the message, he was a great mannie.
