My comment re Oxford features are based on 40 years of spotting when Oxford Bletchley line was open in then the days of steam so therefore as the stations remodeling gradually took place with original architecture being removed, to see it so streamlined, was a clash with how it was on my last visit.
I agree. There's no way an 11 car formation would fit into either of the bay platform. What did surprise me was that it got priority over the late running vomiter?
it was a 9 not 11 and yes it is odd they didnot let the voyager in first. i call it voayger not vomiter cause vomit sounds like a silly name the real name is a voyager
It's good that they have completed it, so it now means that they don't have to worry about delaying other service. However as you probably saw towards the end of this film that still manages to happen when they hold trains for way to long when they need to go to the sidings
Oxford Station has become quite featureless now, almost a wind tunnel, therefore l hope the future development will augment this. The filmmaker did exceptionally well to reduce the noise. The trains made up for it especially the Chilterns and the freight. Much platform swapping by the despatcher' s causing delays all of which would have been lost without the voiceover. Still s good watch.
To be honest this is the Oxford that I'm used to, I don't really know it in any other way so when you say it's become quite featureless now what do you mean by that? Was there more station architecture before this modern version came along? With all the delays that were taking place on this evening it was certainly keeping me busy
I knew it wasn't the Chiltern mainline but I couldn't remember what line was used by Chiltern Railways so I just used the Chiltern Mainline title to make things a bit easier and somewhat simpler in the same process. But thanks for letting me know either way :)
From the video, it looks like the bay platforms can only handle at max a SIX car train. When you have a NINE car train, things kind of get weird on how they'll be handled. Notice that the sliver set also was on the main GWR platform when it arrived.
Greetings to you from the UK. I'm glad you enjoy the commentary and films that I produce :) In terms of going to 60FPS this would completely depend on when I upgrade my camera, which is actually a Samsung Galaxy Tablet. So until I purchase a knew one then the frame rate will be at this current level. As to which this level is at I wouldn't know. But for the time being I'm happy with the quality that this camera produces but I'm sure at some stage I will invest in a new one that has a much better camera built into it :)
I think they have occasional 9 car sets running to help with the capacity on some sections of the route, but thanks for letting me know. I had a feeling that the consist may have been to long
it's actually a DVT (Driving Van Trailer). on a locomotive hauled train with a single locomotive (or two locomotives both at one end only) the DVT adds a cab to the other end, allowing the train to be driven in the other direction. The new CAF coaches for TPE have a DVT, because they will be hauled by a single Class 68.
Thanks very much for saying so, I haven't watched the film back so I don't know how bad the wind noise actually was throughout this. I parked across the main road overlooking the line and the parking was only £6 for the day, well evening.
another great video! i love the narrations, keep it up!!!
thanks very much mate I'm glad you enjoyed watching this

Maybe the reason why 168115 went on that platform was because with it being a 168 3 car set it was to long to go onto the usual platform
thats what i thought

Great video I am on a LNER heading to Peterborough fantastic video well done
Thanks very much I'm glad you enjoyed watching this
Great Video Love your commentary.
Thanks very much for saying so I'm glad you like it
I see they finished the trackage building to allow the Chiltern trains to access the bay platforms without having to use GWR trackage to reach same.
It's good that they have completed it, so it now means that they don't have to worry about delaying other service. However as you probably saw towards the end of this film that still manages to happen when they hold trains for way to long when they need to go to the sidings
I belive the chiltern train from paddington at 16:03 is a parlamentary train
chiltern dont go to paddington
They do but once a day
@@mraiq4223 yeah i know called the ghost train
Chiltern railways terminate from London Marylebone
I'm waiting for the 230s runing here I am exited for the marston vale to be closed :D
Great video. 👍👍
Thanks very much
Great video
Thanks very much for saying so
You should do more videos of Oxford
I only do 1 every year from there

But I've got to admit, I kinda like Reading West. Even though the IET's don't stop there, it is reccomended (by me) for quite a few freight trains!
I will certainly look into it
It's not the Chiltern mainline, the line from Oxford to Bicester (the jcn to the CML) is the Cherwell Valley line
I knew it wasn't the Chiltern mainline but I couldn't remember what line was used by Chiltern Railways so I just used the Chiltern Mainline title to make things a bit easier and somewhat simpler in the same process. But thanks for letting me know either way :)
Fantastic Video Here Tornado922. I really Enjoyed it :)
Thanks very much for saying so I'm glad you enjoyed watching this
Always nice to see freight
It does break the film up so you're not just seeing passenger trains
Tornado922 yes indeed
The bay platforms seem slightly redundant.
they are only used for the terminating Chiltern Railways services, and for the Oxford to Banbury GWR services
26:12 At 9 coaches long, would it not fit in the bay platform?

This video was perfection
I'm glad you enjoyed it
Can you train spot on London tilbury and southend railway please
I will go there at some stage but I don't know when that will be
Tornado922 that's fine take your time
That was awesome! B.P.
Thank you for saying so I'm glad you enjoyed watching this
greetings tornado from KSA, love you commentary in the videos, want to ask when you might upgrade to 60fps by any chance

What's with GWR's array of messy HST consists?
after all the 800s are in service, any remaining HSTs will be shortened to 4 cars.
Very nice
Thanks for saying so
31:49 where has the reading train came from.
It was coming from Newcastle
31:49
The reason the 9 car (why 9 car anyway) went onto that platform is because it's to short for a 9 car
I think they have occasional 9 car sets running to help with the capacity on some sections of the route, but thanks for letting me know. I had a feeling that the consist may have been to long
what camera do you youse when filming your videos???
I use a Samsung Galaxy Tab E
Could you tell me what DBT is an abbreviation of please
it's actually a DVT (Driving Van Trailer). on a locomotive hauled train with a single locomotive (or two locomotives both at one end only) the DVT adds a cab to the other end, allowing the train to be driven in the other direction. @@RWL2012 thank you, DVT it is then
What he said ^-^ haha
+Tornado922 :)
Actually TPE scrapped the idea of loco hauled services
Great vid
Thanks very much for saying so :)
Great vid...wind wasnt too bad...did you park at oxford as it usually costs a fortune
Thanks very much for saying so, I haven't watched the film back so I don't know how bad the wind noise actually was throughout this. I parked across the main road overlooking the line and the parking was only £6 for the day, well evening.
Was this filmed on the 10 August or 10 April. The title says 10 April
It was filmed in August. I got the date in the title wrong
26:12
PLEASE CAN U DO A TRAIN VIDEO IN A DIFFERENT COUNTRY
I have some films on my channel from different countries if you would like to check them out
Shame about the 180s no longer at gwr. We can't have everything we want.
Atleast they are still getting a new lease of life with GC
