Hallo! Danke for this video. I really appreciated the immersion technique you implemented into this video! I am a bit of a slow learner, but I think going a little slower on the vowels by repeating them a few times after an example would be beneficial to people like me. I am from Poland. For me the most difficult is way in which german sentences are constructed, especially position of verb. It is difficult to understand sentences in which part of the verb is on the begining and rest on the end of the sentence.

The thing is the length of a vowel also affects the "quality" of it. Short vowels are also more open. Höhle is a really closed vowel vs. Hölle, which, apart from shorter, is also more open.
The same happens with the other vowels.
So it's really important to know that because otherwise a student will just make the vowel shorter or longer and will still be perceived as not totally accurate by a native speaker.

Ich denke, der Unterschied ist vielleicht nicht nur die Länge, sondern auch die Öffnung der Vokalen. Wenn es zwei Konsonanten nach einem Vokal gibt, dann wird der Vokal geöffnet ausgesprochen. Ausnahme sind Vokalen, die danach ein H oder E haben (also dann werden die Vokalen in diesem Fall geschlossen ausgesprochen). Wenn es nur ein Konsonant nach einem Vokal gibt, dann wird der Vokal geschlossen ausgesprochen.
Zum Beispiel:
Hoff-nung (geöffnetes o),
Hof (geschlossenes o),
Pohl (geschlossenes o).
Möch-te (geöffnetes ö)
Schön (geschlossenes ö)
Bildung (geöffnetes u)
Huhn (geschlossenes u)
Anruf (geschlossenes u)
Still (geöffnetes i)
Liebe (geschlossenes i)
usw.
Es gibt bestimmt noch einige Ausnahmen. Ihr dürft mich ruhig ergänzen oder korrigieren. ;)

the thing to me that really makes english L/S vowels connect to german L/K vowels is that in both of them, the length of the vowel can also slightly change the pronunciation of the vowel. this is especially true in english where the long and short a and u and i can sound completely different. just thought it was interesting. also, maybe it would be nice to mark long vowels with an accent or otherwise a double vowel in a future spelling revision of german.

I love it
All this reminded me of a linguistic class I had and trying to understand the phonetic alphabet. I did not do well in that class. I'll have to watch this over and over in short segments and take notes. Still not sure it will help. I usually just try to imitate how people say things. I think getting a good German pronunciation is going to be pretty difficult for me compared to some other languages I've learned.

Not only vowel length changes, but also the vowel itself. If you take Höhle as baseline and pronounce Hölle after, the ö in Hölle is shifted a little bit to an ä.
It goes from [øː] to [œ]

Ich habe eine Frage. Manchmal sehe ich, dass Deutsche z.B ‘hab’ oder ‘seh’ sprechen. Warum spricht man ohne ‘e’? Und wann kann man sprechen ohne ‘e’ ?? Sagen Sie mir Bescheid, bitte!
ᄒ ᄒ ‘e‘ 가 빠지는 경우는 단순 구어체적인 표현이고, 발음을 빨리하는 경우에 발생해요. 채팅 등에 ich hab 이라고 쓸 수 있겠지만 공식적인 경우 예를 들어 시험 같은 경우에는 문법적으로 틀립니다 ㅎㅎ 간단하게 말하면 Ich habe, ich komm, fahr... 등등은 단순히 Umgangssprache oder Umgangssprachlichen Besonderheiten에 해당되는거에요.

Actually German is pretty consistent with its spelling so you can tell how a word is pronounced even if you've never heard it before
EDIT:There are just a few exceptions like the ones you mentioned but it's all about memory German is more phonetic English on the other hang is almost never consistent
Yes, you are right. Spanish is more consistent with its spelling than German. Standard Indonesian is the most consistent of all languages in the world.

Meistens wird Ä wie E ausgesprochen. Erst, wenn Wörter nur durch die Aussprache von Ä und E unterscheidbar sind, kommt es auf die korrekte Aussprache an. Das ist aber eher selten, weil es wenige solcher Wörter gibt.
@@fremejoker Danke für die Antwort. Ich meinte auch die Ausprache von "e" in der unbetonten Position am Ende des Wortes, oder in den Vorsilben be- , ge-, oder auch in Wörtern die auf -en enden. Wie wäre es mit einem Video darüber?

Das ist die Ecke, wo man das Schluss-ER zum A macht, bei aller Frömmigkeit nicht in die KiRche, sondern die KiAche geht - darf jeder wie er's/sie's mag, ABER NICHT DEUTSCHLERLENDEN ALS HOCHDEUTSCH VERKAUFEN!!!
