Arguably the best season finale in the entire Arrowverse.
One of the best i would say. Arrow season 5 finale was also crazy good

@@NK-dt1kp I definitely did that on purpose. Arrow S1-S2-S5 and The Flash S1-S2 can all be argued for the best season in the Arrowverse tbh. Some may even say that Legends of Tomorrow S2 is the best.
2:50 he does not say "you've been dead to me for centuries" to Barry, he says that to Cisco. He is still fighting Barry in the future and that suggests that speedsters have a much longer lifespan than the average human, which actually is true in the comics as well.
I was thinking this but how is iris still alive it doesn’t fit together

@@Ffjdgeg that's not the time period where Eobard comes from, Nora was born in 2023 and she comes back from the future of 2040, I'm pretty sure. Iris could easily be alive till then, but Eobard was born in the year 2152 and that's a wholly different time period to be alive in. And to be fair, I do think that by S5, they abandoned the idea of speedsters living longer lives than regular humans/metahumans. Just like they abandoned a lot of ideas and things that were set up in the earlier seasons. Past season 3, they kinda stopped giving about those continuity errors and that's part of the reason why they're not as good as seasons 1 to 3. I can go further than this but that would be getting into spoilers territory and I think you already do understand what I'm saying.

20:00 Eobard did want the accelerator to blow up, which would have resulted in all those people getting powers. But other than Barry, those people don't mean much to him it's just necessary collateral damage to him. He figured out early on in S1 though, that the best way to motivate Barry to get faster was to motivate him to catch all those bad metahumans, so it did end up benefiting him in the end though.
True. It's the dark matter from the particle accelerator explosion merged with the lightening strike that gives Barry his powers.
No dark matter equals no powers.

In the original timeline where barry got his powers in 2020, both of his parents were alive. And at 31:30, future flash did stop our barry from saving their mother.
And that's the way the cookie crumbles... and those cats that got outta the bag ..they ate them all up. What a wild ride. I haven't seen this first season since it first aired. Can't wait for season 2!
10:08 basically Eobard is saying Barry becoming the Flash is a fixed point in time. And according to time traveling shows a fixed point it's so important if you change it. It will change reality causing the butterfly effect this is basically the Canon event that they mentioned into the Spider-Verse movies.

That cliffhanger was sooo crazy. And we had to wait a long while. But everytime I watch it, no matter how many times I still cry 😢 it's such a tragic emotional finale. And the acting in that scene oh my god. Just insane.
Barry came back in the same portal/wormhole with which Eobard was going to go back, so because the wormhole was only open for a very short time period, if Barry wanted to come back to his time, he'd have to collapse with Eobard and the time machine would've got broken regardless, with that collapse.
I wouldnt worry about the ratings or what other ppl are saying I think u should watch until you feel like you cant watch anymore.

Congrats on finishing Flash season 1. Also, if you haven't finished Arrow, then welcome to an Arrowverse tradition: The season cliffhanger. That's right, all the Arrowverse shows made a habit of ending their seasons on some form of cliffhanger to be addressed in the next season. Admittedly, there were times way down the line when shows didn't bother, but this was still a thing.
Be glad you're watching this in post. Back when this was on live TV, all of us had to wait **six months** to see what happened. You love it, but are also extremely annoyed by it.

If you think that season one was confusing, ha-ha-ha. Oh boy! You have no idea yet, at just how much more confusing it gets to be over next few seasons. the show lasted 9 seasons and it changed in a number of ways during that time a number of cast members came and went. Over time it started to feel a bit repetitive with the Speedster bad guys, but it built up to a strong storm of a finish that did the show and the comicbooks proud being very true to the origonal base storys. The one small down side I found anoying was that later in the show, the number of times call backs to early episodes with the old side actors would have worked great. but noo it felt like every chance they could find to being in new actors was taken at highspeed, with out thinking about how fun callbacks would have made the show feel like a stronger connected reality.

When Barry stopped Eobard Thawne from returning to the future, it triggered the singularity which triggered the worm hole!
Maybe the best season ending episode in all the CW hero shows, but that "wound" on Nora is the result of 5 cents and using old lipstick. They put a red kool aid stain in the shirt, and that is supposed to be a big knife stab? LOL Red stain the size of a quarter? LMAO

If you want to know who Rip Hunter is watch CW's Legends Of Tomorrow. In season 1 Rip (Arthur Darvill) also wants to change his own personal history. (no spoilers) It's just as entertaining but it gets really goofy after season 3.

YEEEESS! Been waiting for this! I only wish the last episode was less Grodd focused because Thawne is so good. I love Grodd but I wish we got several in a row of just Thawne and his backstory and battling with Barry.

Hearing your questions its hard not to answer. But keep watching. Everything up to season 5 is pretty damn good, but then they very clearly got lost with what to do. There were some great moments in every season I think. Its not that the show got THAT BAD, its that it just lost its consistency. its pretty common for any series to have a rating decline season over season like this to be honest. It becomes especially noticeable for any show that goes beyond 5-6 seasons.

Watch the original series. You'll understand a few sort of easter eggs in there.
And in a sense, one could even argue that you're not watching the 'Arrow-Verse' but The 'Bat-verse' as, if you end up[ watching the full lot of 'The Flash'... batman came before The Arrow.
First off, spoilers even though it doesn't mean anything because luckily someone realized what a terrible show he would have been forced to show up in. Second if that is your metric, Superman is the longest active superhero in the arrowverse. So it should be called the Super-verse.

My metric was the appearance of characters who had had their own series and/or films before the Arrow series who got fetured as other world versions.

9:09 The thing about the flash if you read the comics that's so interesting but can be confusing 😅 is that; in Barry's OG timeline, his mother never dies and he still becomes the flash nevertheless but then after thawne went back to kill him but instead kills his mother which you can call timeline 1, he still became the flash but this time thanks to thawne, and this is now the timeline that everyone can relate to and then flashpoint... but it's not Barry's original timeline.
What I've learned from that is that Barry's timeline has been messed with way too much in life 😂
