I recently built tamiyas 1/700 Gneisenau and it’s an extremely old kit, came out in the 1970’s, so I wasn’t expecting a good fitting, highly detailed kit, but what I got really surprised me, it’s an amazing little kit from the 1970s and it went together extremely well, everything fit no issues and it’s just incredible how such an old kit is still as good as some of the brand new ones! A true testimate to tamiyas excellent engineering quality.
I really love the 1/700 series kits. Tamiya, Trumpeter etc. They are a lot of fun! They also don't hurt the pocket book as much either. The wood deck add on kits can, but you get what I mean.
I was spoilt . . . LOL . . . I purchased and built the Scharnhorst and Gneisenau from Tamiya ($6.95 each back in the 70's) Wow! then I think it was a fujimi Graf Spee which was pretty good . . . then the only company that made a Hipper class then was Revell (1/720) what a let down, the lumps and bumps produced a non-descript ship. Thankfully I managed recently to purchase the Tamiya Prinz Eugen and am looking forward to building that ;-) @@inclusivemodeldesigns16

The wooden deck in some ways does most of the work... Or at the very least makes the model look fantastic!
I can’t believe how fast it takes to build that model and I definitely love the wood decks and how it’s gonna look when it’s all said and done
