she said "drum kit"
Hey Vaughn, I have 2 boys 8 and 9 on the spectrum and let me tell you. It gets better. It really does. As a subscriber, when Ann makes a milestone, we celebrate together because we get it. Onwards and Upwards. Love you.
It does my son is 13 you go through hell and high water for them. Teenage faze is not easy 😂
My daughter is 8 on the spectrum. I don’t know anyone with a child that is autistic. I’m a single mom. Raising my kiddo who struggles with behaviors has absolutely been the challenge of my life. I don’t feel so alone when I watch your videos of your beautiful daughter. All the comments REALLY help too. You guys really have a really loving community here on this channel. I appreciate it so much ❤
O
❤😢 this is me 💯
@@reginamushi6582 hang in there mama. ❤️
Hi hello! I have an 8 year old autistic son and I am also a single mom! ❤ I’m here with you!!!😊
@@Kelsey1994 ❤️ thank you 🙏🏾
Am I the only one who gets teary eyed when Anne speaks? 🖤🖤🖤🖤 YASSSSSS Anne! So happy and proud of you! Thanks for sharing 🖤🖤
You're not the only one. Proud UA-cam Auntie.💙💛
My little brotheris on the spectrum and he loved the drums when my brother would play so my dad got him a set at his house and now he plays the drums, keyboard and guitar. He flourished so much and at 35 he still plays in different bands and at churches.
I’m so so proud of Anne’s progress. You, Anthony, and the village have done a GREAT job!!
Go Ann!!! As an AUsome mom myself, I completely understand! Every step is a huge accomplishment! Take that baby out for some celebrating...she deserves it!
It's amazing to see how much Anne has grown. She is so beautiful. I am so happy to hear that she is growing intellectually. I started watching you years ago because of Anne as I have grandchildren who are on the spectrum .
Pure happiness for Ann! Baby Ava is growing! Congratulations parents.
Girl you are a SUPER MOM!!✨ I’m an empty nester and I watched ALL that you did today and I got tired😂 Bravo to you. You are amazing!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Make sure Advocate For An in those IEP meetings make sure she gets a good paraprofessional, speech therapy,Occupational Therapy Etc whatever is needed for Anne to thrive and she’s doing so well congratulations Anne
I am so proud of Anne burger and how well she is progressing!! Before you know it, she will become verbal! Praying for the best for what’s to come!! Blessings to you and your family, Vaughn! ❤
Our family had similar experiences.
Our child had the privilege of participating in various therapeutic and educational programming before entering the public school system, and once he attended public school, placement was quickly reassessed.
I now understand that it is not common for our special-needs children to arrive, programmed for the setting, and for the learning experiences, so they are considered advanced or higher functioning than many of their peers.
They have to move them, because the IDEA Act of 1990 dictates that they are to be in the “least restrictive environment“ with respect to their capabilities.
I’m sure she’ll be getting an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) soon, and it is sometimes advisable to access an advocate, to attend those meetings with you to make sure that Anne’s rights and access to EVERYTHING she needs is being honored.
All of our babies deserve the best efforts toward optimizing their potential.
Wishing your family all the best on your journey.
My toddler is currently in prek and at home ABA. I hate that we lost his medicaid and now have to pay that copay for ABA but we love his rbt and he's progressed better than school. Took him from full, time at school to part time and saw a big difference. Glad school is working out for your kiddo.
How did you lose his Medicaid, look into Katie Beckett waiver, it bases the approval on the child's disability not the parents income.❤❤❤
@Sjoness1210 we lost it due to our income. We are still on waitlist for a different waiver but I will check the one you recommended.
@@tbaby1627 It's the Katie Beckett amendment.
Yea I had to pull my son out of school because it was individualized enough to meet his needs. I was hoping ABA would help but everyone is saying different.
@@thingsilove18 It wasn't individualized enough?
Awwwww, Annie Burger is really growing up and excelling so nicely!!! This internet auntie is sooooo proud!!! 👏🏾🙏🏾💞🙌🏾
My son is the same age as Anne. He gets all his therapy at school(ot,speech) we do outside ot also and outside speech therapy and aba. The reason I do outside speech therapy is because I was told ot and speech therapy in the school setting teaches different than the outside version. I also pulled my son out of aba when school started because he was at school 7 hrs a day then when come home to in home aba therapy for 3 hrs and I just think it was way to much the only reason I’m starting him back in aba after school is because he has some new behaviors coming in that needs to be be addressed. As far as the insurance I’ve never had any issues with insurance not paying or approving my sons therapy and he been in school since he was three we live in California. I just believe in taking breaks from therapy also because it does become a bit much if you are able to keep her in outside speech I still would just because she is non verbal. Anne also been in Aba for awhile I don’t see any harm with giving her a break and if need be you can always go back ❤
Same. I have two on the spectrum and it was too much. That was too much for them both. We are looking into a private school where they ABA therapists would be permitted to be inside and work in tandem with the teachers. Spots are limited though. Our public schools are some of the best in our state though. And their EC programs are great, it’s just the one thing. However our kids schools had also begun doing some of the things that the ABA therapists were doing as well. A lot of life skills. My daughter is in middle school and they have a full kitchen and washer/dryer in their large classroom.
I was told that physical therapy is the one where in-school and out of school therapy would differ, specifically "we're not going to teach them how to ride a bike". And also, in Illinois, they will put a BCBA in the classroom.
Wow that’s crazy that Anne didn’t get an AAC device until she went to school bc the kids about my job get them in our program. Congratulations to Anne for making that milestone. That’s very sweet of you to keep in touch with the therapist. I know much the kids are missed when they go off to school and they can’t reach out on their own. As I tech I’m more in the loop than the therapist bc parents keep in touch.
Go Ann I’m so proud of you. Great job parents. That’s amazing! ❤️🤗
I’m in Florida. We had the same issues. My daughter who is 6 now, had ABA for 3 years. She started in October and yes!!! She has made great strides. It’s hard and scary. But we have discernment. Keep sharing if you desire. Your info has helped me tremendously 💜
Vaughn how is your mom doing??? It just hit me we haven't seen the Queen lately!!!!
It is so exciting to hear and see Anne flourishing in school, Get it Annie Boo 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Congratulations! I am so glad Anne is doing so well in school.
YAY!! ANNN!!!! Babygirl is moving forward and we are all so happy for and with you fam!!! It's a wonderful thing when you can find a good school for your child and they have positive results. There are so many bad experiences for students who do NOT have challenges let alone dealing with do. You are such a great parent and advocator for your child. Praise God you are in a good school system it seems and community. Great therapist and people who really care is vital to the success that you are experiencing. So happy for you all.
❤❤❤
Nice to hear about Anne’s progress. Glad things are going well.
Aww! I'm crying too. I'm a mom and teacher and I can feel love for you in both areas! Congrats to ANNE! Congrats to you as a parent. Congrats to the school for doing what's best for students!!!!
Yay Anne!! So proud of you and happy for you and your family Vaughn. I just left my autistic 6 year old parent teacher conference. He’s also thriving and doing well. It took everything in me not to cry while the teachers are just singing his praises 🙌🏾🥰🥹
Enjoyed this vlog as always just real life and down to earth. You go Ann keep hitting those milestones. You're a busy mom but you are handling it all well
Congratulations Ann!!!!
This really made me cry because I’m so happy for y’all and Anne’s progress 😭🙌🏾 she’s doing amazing and most importantly y’all are doing amazing. It give me hope. My son went through his last evaluation to determine if he is on the spectrum and it’s been a lot 😭🙏🏾 so thank you for sharing your journey with us
Hey Vaughn & family thank you & Anthony for sharing your lives with us because you’ll are helping other families on this journey. Congratulations to our Anne. She’s doing great! Anne understands very well. Little Ava doing her thing bouncing she’ll be crawling in a minute trying to keep up with Anne. Vaughn you are a great Mom & Anthony is a great Father. That’s why I love to see you & your Dad relationship it’s beautiful to me ❤
Congratulations to Anne. Vaughn, you are such a good friend to the people in your life.❤
You are like the best mother, wife, friend etc.! Just a perfect human being. Keep giving those positive contents and I wish you the very best life. You deserve it! God has truly blessed you!
Go Anne…..So happy for the great update🥰
Super excited for Anne’s milestone!
Super impressed with this night time routine! Awesome job y’all!!
With Anne having ABA for over 5 years, she has a great foundation which helps a lot with school. My son wasn’t able to experience ABA until he was 9 and he was only able to participate for over a yr and half. The insurance changed and we had to stop the service. It was truly heartbreaking but his last therapist was so amazing that she would do sessions with him 2x a wk via FaceTime and I paid her out of pocket. This was huge for us and then she moved out of town😫😢 we still keep in contact and she will forever be apart of our family.
Awwww! Congratulations Anne! 🎉 such an accomplishment! And kiddos to you and Anthony because all the hard work and dedication with the in-home ABA and even the use of her AAC device at home mattered!! I work as a School Social Worker were 75% of our students have Autism and even a large majority are nonverbal. The carry over from home to school is soo necessary! Happy for you all!
Congratulations Ann she is doing wonderful. Blessing to you mom and dad for doing what’s best for Ann and making decisions for her to thrive.
Dinner looks so good, especially Sea Bass 😋. Then look at Ava just bouncing around 😊, so proud of both your gurls.
Been there! We actually switched govt insurance plans to one that would cover Aba in the school system. You’re right though- it’s a commencement. Now my son is 95% phased out of Aba where his therapist only comes to the school once a week and his bcba observes maybe once a month and also sits in on IEP meetings. My son is 9 and has had the same bcba since he was 2.5. It will be bittersweet when they are completely out of the picture but I’ll definitely be keeping in touch with his bcba. ❤
I think Anne will do well in school. You'll probably notice a level of maturity that you maybe hadn't seen before. Especially if there are also older kids at the school. And you're correct that even though it's a public school, our property taxes in the south suburbs ARE RIDICULOUS so they do pay some of the special ed staff well.
I will say that you should definitely stay vigilant. In my case, the staff members that worked directly with my daughter had her best interest at heart. But I still had to advocate and make sure that the IEP minutes and services were what I felt she needed, because the administration was trying to manage spreading the therapist they had on staff among the students they had enrolled. And while I understood their staffing dilemma, it was important to me that my daughter receive the services needed to meet her IEP goals. But overall, we were satisfied with the schools out here. They put me in meetings, situations and conversations that I needed to be in, and I appreciated them for that.
Loved this vlog!! It was so nice spending the day with you. It was fun! So very proud of Anne!!! Congratulations to her!!! 🎉
Hey Vaughn and family, it's good to see y'all.
Thanks for the transparency ❤️❤️❤️ its very helpful.
So proud of Annie!👏🏽💖 Congratulations!🎉 I wish her much success in her new class. God's got her, and she's going to be fine. I love your videos, Vaughn! Thanks for sharing!🥰
Hello you are really dedicated Mom and Dad, Anne is going to flourish and blossom into a beautiful and strong young lady. GOD BLESS and keep up the amazing work. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💖🥰👸🏽💯💫
That's amazing, great job Anne! All of your internet Aunties are very proud of you
That was a good choice that you made because I work with kids like and and they get a lot of things in school that they wouldn’t get if they went through a center so you did a great thing don’t feel guilty because she has blossoms so much and she’s so smartand beautiful nice call on that decision😊
Ann just be singing giving Vaughn background music lol ❤️❤️ I’m loving Ann’s progress! Go girl!
That's amazing news for Annie booskie! So proud!🎉🎉
I’m really happy the school system is going great. I’m in Houston,Texas and our journey wasn’t good at all.
Way to go Anne! I've been watching Annie boo grow over the years, thanks for sharing sis. 💗
I know you all are excited with Ann's progress. Patience is key. She is going to be just fine. Keep praying over her.🌞😊
My daughter has auditory processing disorder and we do therapy outside and inside the school. This summer she will be doing the reading program to help her get better at processing and what she reads. She will be seven the 29th of this month.
Had to pause the video just to come say Go Anne! 🎉🎉🎉
And great job parents! For leaning fully in and allowing Anne to grow despite her diagnosis! Y’all are bomb A parents!
Congratulations Ann 🎉 My daughter is autistic as well, and we stopped ABA a while ago when she started going to school for the full day...I felt bad initially, but I knew my daughter couldn't tolerate and full day of school, then come home and do ABA. Also, her ABA program was having lots of turnover with behavioral therapists, there was no consistency, and that was frustrating. At school, she gets all her therapies, has an AAC device as well. Her school program is great, and I am thankful. I am always searching for what else I can do to help my daughter though. I always say she is the most talkative non talker that I know. I'm thinking about pursuing some outpatient speech therapy again to just augment what we already have, if she can tolerate it.
Hello Vaughn and Anthony its a Blessing to Hear how Ann has progressed, Beautiful to see y'all dedication to do the best for your children. God Bless your family , Keep doing Great!!!❤
Great vlog, congratulations on all of Ann's accomplishments, I too feel proud of her, and you tried to make us cry 🙂 TFS!

This just makes me so happy! We’re all so proud of her!
Congrats on Anne's progress!! God bless you and your family!!
So glad Anne is thriving and adjusting so well in her new school. I LOVE Kombucha. I drink the Synergy brand Elderbery, Lavender, Strawberry Serenity and Peach. Island Bliss is good too.
Vaughn you are so beautiful…I love watching your every day busy mom life videos. You, Anthony and your whole tribe are doing such an Amazing job with Anne. I love seeing her progress, Go Anne! Continued blessings to all of you.❤🙏🏽✨
My husband worked with autistic children. So when we had our son (he’s 8 now) he was aware of the signs and addressed them quickly. He realized at 1yr our son said “daddy” then he couldn’t say it a month later. He couldn’t say the animal name but would make the sound they make. Our son has been with the same speech and occupational therapist since age 1. He received his speech device at 2 almost 3yr. He refused to use it. He will talk your ear off now. He is also very, very literal. You have to mean what you say and say what you mean with him.
Yeah Little Anne🎉🎉🎉🎉We join you in her success and accomplishments!! My baby girl is in Kindergarten this year. Similar experience. I get it💜💜 Hey Littlest Ava! Great job Mom and Dad. Play those drums Anne😂
We stopped as well. The school day plus ABA was too much for both my AU kiddos. Thankfully we are in really superb school systems and the EC programs are top notch. Their classrooms are also doing many of the things they were doing in ABA. My daughter is in middle school and they have a huge classroom with, really two big rooms in one. Private bathrooms, full kitchen, washer/dryer and a sensory room with everything you could think of for these kids.
Absolutely love watching your vlogs. Like hanging out w/a friend for the day. Sansa be right by your side girl...Love that! Was over here giggling about your "Damn!" comment about the fish...I know how that is when u make something yummy to eat...LOL!!
I think she may be saying “Drum sticks” ❤
Congrats to AVA, Im so happy for her & proud of her success !!! 💯🫶🏽🙌🏽🥰
Hi Family, the vlog was excellence, thank for sharing Ann, report your did a excellence choice, well everytime I look at the vlog, your do great with Ann, your are great parent, and Ava. Is getting so big, she look just like Ann, and you, love you guys, Be Bless
So happy for Ann 👏🏾
Hi Vaughn, once my daughter found out that my granddaughter had autism, she started teaching my baby, and once she got to public school, she's been flourishing. She refused to let them say that my baby wasn't ready for school and that she'd been having a good time at the school. I use the keratin shampoo for my synthetic wigs, and it really softens and detailing the hair.
Congratulations Ann! Great job!! 🎉🥳💕
Overjoyed with you all. Great job Anne boo and parents. May God co tinge to bless your family.
I'm autistic and just be careful with ABA!! There are definitely some benefits but they have been so many documented cases of abuse behind closed doors, not all methods are harmful at all!! I had good and bad experiences with therapy methods but please look into how autistic adults have spoken about certain aspects and just weigh option-
Absolutely love that you are encouraging artistic expression, it truly can be so groundbreaking for ASD and co disorders, my career i'm in school for literally benefits from this disorder, I have struggles because of being asd but i wouldn't change a thing
Hey Vaughn❤
We had the opposite outcomes. The psychologist wrote up the paperwork and insisted that my son get speech outside of school. We were told to never tell school about outside or vice versa as someone would not work as hard. Backstory son was diagnosed at 3 nonverbal. I complained that he cannot talk why does he get 30 mins a day at school. I did not tell insurance about school but I gave them recommendation from psychologist for more speech. He had device at school but need both therapies to see significant improvement. He’s now in high school with speech. If we don’t advocate for more time in speech they
will not give them more.
I have a 7 yr old boy with autism and this would be the 2nd center he’s been at since he was 4. He’s the only kid I have, so it’s hard to compare and contrast. It’s challenging when you don’t have anyone that’s close to you that deal with these same challenges. I know all kids learn at their own pace, however watching this video (may) have confirmed my thoughts. I remember feeling that ABA wasn’t helping, but then at the same time I would just say things to myself like “It’ll take time,” because that’s what the therapists would say. It just seems like his behavior is getting worse especially in public 🤦🏽♀️ Idk what to do. I really don’t want to be putting him in different centers every year…..so Idk. I was even told he may have ADHD. For the first time I’ve been considering meds to just CALM HIM DOWN, but I don’t want to feel like I’m not allowing for him to express himself fully or for him to become depended on them, along with the meds maybe causing problems in the future. I just be feeling like the therapist I’ve been exposed to don’t have the proper skills to handle him. There’s been times I’ve experienced the therapist looking or giving off an energy as if they were unsure or uncomfortable which made me feel unsure. Because it’s like I’m coming to y’all for help and it seems like y’all don’t know what to do.
That whole dish looks Amazing!
I'm so happy for Ann. I can see her growth. I used to work with special needs children. I know you only share parts of your lives with us.. but I see Ann advancing.. when I saw her last year interacting with "Santa Claus" that was the first time I heard her voice 💕 and today with the drums😊. I agree and feel you made a good decision and with her teachers from therapy can still be a part of her life.💕 Oh, by the way I have the same coffee cup..(pack of 3)and the same thing happened to me (got mine from dollar tree) what they did is made the cups smaller and the tops don't have a secure tight fit..so the drink dribbles out a little.😲 Well that's my situation with those cups😅. Anyway.. love you guys and your channel ❤️😊
Go Anne!!! So proud 🎉🎉God is good. ❤
Congratulations to your beautiful daughter!
I’m so happy for Annie! 💛💙
😢😂 climbing things had been my favorite thing to do when i was little
Here in Georgia, they can have speech in and out of school. In my son’s class(3-4 year olds) it’s group speech so not one on one. ABA has helped so much but we are moving to in home therapy after school.
I’m so happy for her and y’all. And she kept correcting you on the drums❤. I had two of those cups and they leak around the rim just an fyi.
Thanks for including us Vaughn.
Yay!!!! So happy for you guys & proud of her!
Congratulations, Annie Poo, you're doing awesome!!!
Anne got me here tearing up. Yay Anne! 😊
My daughter is 6 , she started public school at the beginning of the year. I recently had her pulled out due to the fact they would not give her what I believe was the best/proper placement for her. I’m a young mom, but I am very educated on my daughter and what it is I want for her. They tried to manipulate me into believing the school she was in was the best school in our district at the time, not knowing I was well informed that where she was placed is ranked as a #6 in our state so I know that information was false. I told them and they continued to try and convince us to keep her enrolled. I had no problem with public schools for my daughter but I was not going to have her in a school that was no benefit to her but all the more for them having her attend there. I was asking for a school transfer and I had many well explained reasons as to why she should be transferred and they couldn’t meet those needs. I am now looking into ABA and registering my daughter in hopes that it will be good for her. I was hesitant to enroll her, hearing many good/bad stories but I suppose we will see for our own experience how it goes. I am very involved and over protecting of my daughter so I only accept the best for her so if she’s not happy and I notice that I will pull from ABA as well.
❤❤❤ I am so happy with Anne's progress. 🎉
Awwww Anne 😍 that makes me so happy, congratulations big girl!
Go Ann!!!!!! I’m so proud of her!!!!
Congratulations to Anne
Grinning ear to ear for Anne 😊😊😊
Hello. Here in Colorado you can do both.Have Speech, Occupational Therapy out of school or in school great programs here.
Hey Vaughn! What are your fitness goals set on your Apple Watch? Mine was 1 hr workout, 800 calories per day and 12 awake hours. I lost 53 lbs with that goal.
Hmmm…. I foresee in the near future that Miss Ann is going to make YOUR tomatoes hers too. 😂❤
Congratulations to Annie boo!! ❤🎉
So happy for Anne’s progress and your dedication to her success along the way. As a teacher, I will say that it made me smile that you plan on remaining connected with ABA partners who first began to implement support. I didn’t realize it at the time, but when my Kinder student’s parents continued to text, send pictures, invite to sporting events, etc, it would be such a blessing to me. When they become Seniors I cry and can’t believe I’ve had the opportunity to know them for almost their entire lives. 🥹
❤ Yay Anne!!!! So happy and proud for you all! Go Anne, Go Anne, Go Anne!!!🎉😊
