I prefer this Randal May carrier/harness to the Andante carrier. Randal May carrier feels more secure to the drum and my body. I use a ratcheting drum key. Makes for quick adjustments with the right amount of leverage to tighten each bit adequately.
@@FreestyleRudiments hardware wise, the locking tabs are really innovative, the padding is washable and adjustable, but the weight distribution on the silver armor carriers is kinda weird. the new ones that BCP 2023 used are pretty nice, but I'm not sure if those are going to market yet.
@@FreestyleRudimentsthey are fine but there is no way for my quads to go low enough since the harness is too big (for me cuz i’m pretty short for the average quad player) and i can’t lower the belly plate further 😭

I’m a really small guy in highschool so when I moved that belly plate it still was sitting to slow so we decided to fold that joint up to fit me right
yea I guess for some its got a limit to how small it can go, maybe Randall May should make some short bar versions people can buy

at 0:34 you ask for anyone who thinks they have a better harness. my favorite harness is the dynasty tenor harness because it is just easy to use.

I use pearl, but I tried a Randall May one time and I liked it better cus u can tighten it
My school uses the dynasty T-max. They’re really comfortable and the drum doesn’t wiggle or have a chance of falling off.
Same are you In Texas I am and my district are sponsored by dynasty and we pretty much use all dynasty stuff

How high should a drum sit on the body? What relative areas of the body should we refer to?
My director has our drum up to our waist maybe slightly above and it works well
