    Great video and a refreshing take on warm ups. Not saying one way is better or not, but the Cavs have shown this year that simple fundamentals win the day. I`m old school and this warm up routine is like a blast from the past.

    The speedo doubles is called speed bumps and it’s all 16th notes and 8th notes, not triplet syncopation for the first 2 patterns. I take lessons from their snare tech and he sent me the sheets.

    8:39. Funny you say that about the long warmups. In 2021, we were warming up next to the Bluecoats. We finished our subs lot and just sat around while bloo was still playing. Then we finished our show music and they were still playing. We finished so quickly that we didn’t know what to do with our time.

    • @FreestyleRudiments
      @FreestyleRudiments  10 місяців тому +1

      Do you have the orig notation? when you slow it down (try it at 50% on youtube) you can hear its either really bad 16th/32nd interp or a triplet variant?

    • @mrpiklez3703
      @mrpiklez3703 10 місяців тому +2

      @FreestyleRudiments I auditioned there in January and all the sheets were 16th note doubles. The interp of space will naturally widen ans the doubles get tighter when trying to achieve clarity in the snareline, but if you listen to the full batterie, the bassline is also ripping various 16th based partials

    • @FreestyleRudiments

      No. Not if they learn to use the rebound and not fight it. They used to because of historical techniques but its really not too bad now. The heads are very very tight so they do have to consider fatigue but I would def say they are not all messed up.
