FYI- Originally, yo yo's are used for hunting small game like rabbits. Bait would be put under or around a tree, while the hunter hid higher up in the tree or stand. When animal comes, yo yo the tasty little meal animal. The string was used to retrieve the yo yo hunting weapon, so the hunter didn't have to climb up and down disturbing more possible prey in area.
@GRapsSavior1996 Not too much practice. Throwing it was the easy part. Retrieval was the part where it got tricky since the knife can snap back if you don't release the line while the blade is in mid air to pull back .
I know it's complicated. But I think it can be done... It's probably less safe than your concept of scorpion's spear when retracting and catching. And I know it won't retract once in contact with a target that's heavy. But I'm sure it should retract fine against lightweight targets. The only problem is getting the knife to swivel from the yoyo; hoping there's no friction, which would cause the blade to spin along with the yoyo, which would also ultimately be dangerous. Dx
Well think simply of a swivel chair or swivel stool. I would have to come up with a way to have the blade/knife attach yet swivel from the yoyo. That way the yoyo is still spinning and is still the retracting mechanism. The blade/knife doesn't necessarily have to be attach to the yoyo itself, but more like hang close to the yoyo, just as the yoyo hang and swivels/spins from it's own string. Get what I mean?
@fdelapena001 Please can you sort out a video instruction or send me a pic of a diagram and parts so I can replicate this design, or make my own i just need to know what you inner mechanism for the roll bar that the chain/rope reels in on, and is it a mechanical motor inside to auto-reel it back it? and free wheel set for throwing? Please reply thank you.
Can it be done with a yo yo? A yo yo can be thrown and caught pretty much like how scorpion uses his spear... And been thinking of combining the concepts of the yo yo and scorpions spear technique and making the actual scorpion spear. But idk whether to go through with it and trying it.
@pedromoratalla It's possible but unlikely since it retracts, preventing the line from whipping around. If I had used a lighter or heavier knife yeah it can snap back. If you noticed it is returning down to the floor and not in the mid air. There is enough weigh on the knife to counter the force at which it is being retracted back.
I am not sure how that will work since the yo-yo has to spin in order for it to retract. If the blade get in contact with the target and the yo-yo is prevented from spinning then it will not retract.
i cant believe he didnt yell "get over here!!!" how disappointing...
Where might I throw my money at for this?
Dogs like "gimme my damn dog leash! You're suppose to be walking me right now."
Tutorial?
