5:03 Do F' before the D, instead of the long insert you can just do Lw' U' Lw 6:25 Lw U' F2 U Lw' The other super useful cross edges trick is Rw2 U R U' Rw2
Good thing I saw this video I currently use Yau method and most of the time, I solve the cube around 1:10-1:15 so I'll try using the Hoya method to get faster
6:04 There's an alternative way if the cross edge happens be there: (Lw' U' Lw) (U' Lw' U Lw) . Might not be faster and may break the flow but can be something to consider
I had a 58 single pb and started using hoya instead of reduction with free slice, and beat my single pb 3 times and average pb 3 times, so a 53 second single pb and a 1:01 avg pb! From now on, Hoya will always be my method!
I use hoya for all big cubes but i just insert what i see. I dont stick wir orange if i see a red edge that i wanna imsert. Should i? On 5 6 7 i work from inside to out but i am curious what youll say about this.
I’ve never actually seen how Hoya works until now and it looks pretty fun! I’m definitely going to give it a try! I lost my love for 4x4 a little while ago and hoping that Hoya will possibly bring me back to consistently practicing the event 😄
I main 6x6 and don’t really do 4x4 anymore that much so I think I’ll try Hoya but never actually switch because I use yau for 4-7 Edit: I tried it and I like it so if there is no good white/yellow center I will solve a different center and use Hoya
Idk, I appreciate the better center building with Hoya, but Yao has the better cross edge building. When I do both, I find myself losing a lot more time on cross edges with Hoya, than I find myself losing time doing centers with Yao.
Hoya is such an underrated method. Thanks for making this video
Yes, I rarely see some pro speedcubers use Hoya method
I might try Hoya in the near future, always hated making the cross on Yau so this might be for me
Bruh ofc this comes out as I'm eating dinner like bruh

no way same, I currently use hoya on 5 and 6 (I'm not that good at either but I don't practice either that much) but I may try do hoya on 4x4 as well

Hoya is fun on big cubes
(Seriously) Like on 5x5 cross-edge
Like on 5×5 it's so op
Yo good to finally see some hoya representation. I always get excited when I see a fellow hoya main

All this in 1 day btw
now try yau
I didn't even need a tutorial this was actually a good enough tutorial for me lol
Definitely switching to this
That's crazy, i didn't realize it but i just went to a comp with this guy a couple days ago.

Oh wait just watched the whole video, and I think I might learn this method 😮
I’ve never actually seen how Hoya works until now and it looks pretty fun! I’m definitely going to give it a try! I lost my love for 4x4 a little while ago and hoping that Hoya will possibly bring me back to consistently practicing the event 😄
Great video! You could have mentioned swiss cuber Alwin Rölz who uses hoya on all big cubes and is one of the best in the world with it.
I main 6x6 and don’t really do 4x4 anymore that much so I think I’ll try Hoya but never actually switch because I use yau for 4-7
Edit: I tried it and I like it so if there is no good white/yellow center I will solve a different center and use Hoya
What I find interesting about Hoya was that it does need much rotations to solve cross edges
Yay finally a new actual good cubing channel.
I have a question later in this method i do the 3-2-3?
You can, yes. Highly recommended.
Hoya = Jong ho Jeong (inventor of the Hoya method)
I'm method neutral at this point. If I see some white/yellow blocks I'll use Yau, and if other colors are super easy I'll use Hoya.
Me too in terms of 4x4 ❤
Awesome Video Bro! I actually recently switched cause of you lol! I remember when you used redux!
I might give hoya a try, seems pretty interesting

Any tips on 4x4 tho
Example solves: 2:59
thank u
Captions be like: “Hawaii”
Maybe I'll give hoya a try
Hoya gang (on 5 and up at least)
FELLOW HOYA USER!!!!
Elijah 2x2 pro 💪💪💪
real
time to switch to hoya!
noooo elijah why
I quit reduction
HOYA! YAU!
Hmm maybe I’ll switch
I'm not even sub 40 on 4x4 yet so I want to be sub 40, idc if I can't be sub 30 global I just want a global sub 40 average
HOYA USER!!!!
can i get a hoya
Yau method is better to me
fifth
first
Who
Doesn't care :D
Don't do Hoya
