  • In our new project, which is a motor that moves with the energy of the air, the pleasure that we receive during this project is double as besides the joy we got during making it, there is also the joy of recycling a system which is non-functional anymore.

      He transformed a hydraulic pump into an air driven motor...

    • @ElizabethGreene
      @ElizabethGreene 6 років тому +4

      He took a busted sliding vane AC compressor from a car, disassembled it, and took the vanes, rotor, and bearings out of it. He cleaned those up and made a new housing for them so they would work as a motor instead of a compressor.

    • @imnobody4522
      @imnobody4522 5 років тому +1

      @@@froop2393 all: Right it's a pump designed to move fluids, being transformed into an engine that runs on air pressure. He could have more to explain this and offer some torque ratings would have helped.

    I understand WHAT you did. I don’t think the question “why” is relevant (it looked like you had fun, and your work here is as clean and beautiful as your other YTs). But I am curious if there is something inherently wrong with the original AC compressor body that it wasn’t usable as a motor housing? I am happy to have watched this because I have an AC compressor that needs to be rebuilt and know I know what it looks like inside. Not too complicated. Thank you for taking the time to share this.

    Nice work but what lubrication does it have ? The original AC compressor had oil in the system to lubricate the pump.

    • @denn606
      @denn606 6 років тому +5

      Systemrat2008 I am an industrial maintenance tech and I work with air motors every day, they are used for paint mixing in a flammable enviroment where you can't use electric, they are lubricated with a shot of air tool oil every now and then.

    • @betoen
      @betoen 6 років тому +4

      It was an hydraulic pump, I think, for power steering. I thought the same about the lubrication. I think they will have trouble with that device.

    • @Zigma72
      @Zigma72 6 років тому

      The motor can also be lubricated by a bloc FRL

    • @ThisIsToolman
      @ThisIsToolman 6 років тому +1

      It’s an AC compressor made to work like any vane-type air motor found in your mechanic’s toolbox. Think “air ratchet”. It would be lubricanted in the same way...
