That Morikawa reference at 15:00 has aged like a fine wine
Was just about to comment on this
Got chills when he said that 🤣🤣
Literally was about to say. EAL literally called it somehow.
haha was just getting ready to make the same comment
Thought the same thing! Hope he has come money on that call. Woza
Did EAL predict Morikawa would win?
Yup, I just watched it and was like OMG did he just say that!
Conspiracy theorist in me says he filmed like 10 takes with DJ, Rahm, Bryson, Brooks, JT, and a few others XD. But great name drop.
Yes BUT Morikawa also won a few weeks ago :)
I’m guessing he used Collin as an example since Collin had recently won Workday. I’m just guessing based on this being a few weeks before the major and that event being 3-4 weeks before the major
Is Erik a psychic? He called that Collin would win! “Collin walking down the stretch” wow!
11:17 “Goes to show how little I know about betting”
He recorded the voiceover after the round, released after the result.
Arkslippy yeah but he said it in the video not on the voiceover
I've come back to the video again because of this!! 🤔🙃
Could have been filmed around when Collin won the Workday Charity Open
14:57 "This must be what it feels like for a Colin Morikawa coming down the stretch." Yeah I think it does, bud. Good call, Erik haha!
Haha wild
Knew you would do it my guy. Congrats. Wild Morikawa reference on 18. How good was that shot he hit on 16?
Best of his life
👏
That mood shift on 12 though with the music change... Oh man.
I got chills haha
Ya I was definitely getting stressed but just tried to stay in my “free swing”. Why my drive on 18 and last three holes were so satisfying - really got back to that.
After 5 years away from playing any golf at all, RGC has played a huge part in me falling in love with the game all over again. Super pleased for you that you achieved this!
Shaun I am right there with you I took a break from golf and EA got me inspired to play again too.
10 years away for me & I picked it back up a few months ago thanks to EAL. Best decision I've made!
It helps that the game has some really good ambassadors on UA-cam now, GM Golf, EAL, Rick Shiels, Peter Finch, Seb, meandmygolf. They show the fun side of the sport but can also can be informative.
@@pizzle58 Funny that you mention those channels because after I discovered EAL, I discovered all of them & consistently watch their content.
Th3PandaDen same here. I’m obsessed with the game and wish I had started to play before my 30th birthday, wish my parents pushed me towards golf instead of team sports.
gotta love the tracer on every divot 😂 especially on 12:40
especially on the ones that flip! so much appreciation for your editor Erik!
Only 2 strokes worse than Zach Johnson’s opening round. 👌🏻
Zach Johnson Master's champ shot 66 opening round. Z. Johnson club pro shot 82
Steven Morrison good job fixing that. Didn’t watch just did a quick look up.
Did the same thing and thought the same thing.
CONGRATS EAL!!!! Love what you are doing for the game & the mental aspect
@@stevenkmorrison Masters champ Zach Johnson did shoot 76 on Friday though. The putter went 180 on him.
The first time I stepped on a golf course was january this year. I started training and was really excited about it when COVID happened and I was forced to stay home for more than 4 months. Even today I have yet to play my first round (still only on the driving range and putting green). To be totally honest, RGC is what kept me interested in the game and longing to go back.
As a beginner I haven't yet fell in love for golf so there wasn't much to get me excited about it. But the joy, and the conversations, and the travels, and just the good vibe of yours videos made me a super fan of this channel and I'm so excited to be back on the course. Really looking forward to playing my first match, then breaking 100, then breaking 90, ...
Keep the excelent work Erik, cheers!
Awesome Luis. Welcome to golf, it’s good to have you.
welcome to the game dude! just remember not to take yourself to seriously on the course and you'll love it. as a fellow beginner, every time I get frustrated I just tell myself I'm not good enough to be getting this annoyed about it!
Exactly what Ryan said above. Have a laugh with it and enjoy learning the game and it all comes together 🏌️♂️
@@Piesfan35 and @O H
Thanks! Excited about it, and this type of interaction is what makes the game even more fun. The RGC community is really great
Really happy for you. This has always been my favorite series on the channel. Very well deserved and inspires me to keep playing and continuing my own journey with golf.
Congratulations Eric! I’m truly stoked for you man. I’m still trying to break 100 from the blue tees. At 47, I’ve been playing about 8 months.
Honestly EA could break 80 if he just tightened up some poor mistakes
Literally if he doesnt have the quadruple bogey and he makes one or two more putts hed be at 79
That’s what I say to myself every time I don’t break 90 at my muni haha 😅😭
@Jonathan Scott we all say that 😂
he also could have missed two or three of those longer putts...that's golf!
And if my aunt had nuts she'd be my uncle!
I genuinely have enjoyed to see how much you’ve improved since starting watching your vids! Awesome grind and work man
One of my favorite videos yet!!! Great vid 👍🏻👊🏻
This video made me extremely happy, and I’ll probably be watching it many times as my sort of “golf pump up video” in the future. Well done EAL!!!
Congrats, Eric!!! Watched all of the highs & lows of past break 90 vids. I can relate as I broke 80 for first time at Harding. Big fan, cheers!
Just randomly stumbled upon your channel, this is good content
Maybe check out his "first" series called adventures in golf. They are great and it has 4 seasons
That's the name of his channel

Gotta check out the rest of the course vlogs. They're sooo good
I've watched everything he has. You won't be disappointed!
There’s something about your videos that make them therapeutic, I always come out of watching them in a better mood than the one I was in before watching them
So laid back and awesome. You guys highlighted the beauty of that course. Also love the divot tracer
Congrats man! Really appreciate your calm contentment. It's definitely a breath of fresh air for me as a new golfer trying to learn the game.
Congrats! I was so happy watching this happen! You needed this one after the first 4.
Awesome video. If there ever was such a thing as a good double bogey...those putts on 13 and 15 were huge. Congrats EAL. I think it also shows how a good start can really set the tone for a round.
I really love that your videos highlight the lived experience of a course, rather than just document a round. As I believe you've said, golf is a spiritual game and you capture that wonderfully.
so true!
Great video Erik, love the production value on these vids a great watch.
Love your videos man they are awesome. You brought me back to golf this year with COVID, thank you so much. Keep up the great content.
Good tip for long par-4s: Just think of them the way you would a short par 5. You don't step onto the tee of a 470 yard par 5 and feel nervous. You're thinking hey, I could make eagle here. Just transfer the foundation of that mentality to long par 4s. Of course you can play those holes well. Just focus on hitting the fairway with your stock swing and take it from there. When people bring up the mental game of golf, situations like this are exactly what they're referring to. Hope that helps! Love the vlogs!
cool vids. Way to keep it together on the back after the quad. Awesome to see you regroup and finish strong.
So excited to watch. I know you can do it and excitex to watch the watch party. Good luck with everything, keep doing what you're doing, and have a great day!
Thanks for your videos Eric, you are really helping me enjoy golf more and worry less about score. Playing the best golf of my life now. Please keep the content coming :)
Man this is a fun channel to watch. Great video work/editing and a normal golfer trying to play bogey golf. Everything I need
Enjoying this new break 90 format! Walking the course with you, seeing what's required on each hole. Nice closer look. Thanks!
The music choice coming up 18 was genius! Great job to the editor/whoever made that decision. Congrats EAL! Felt like we were with you on this journey which is a credit to you and your team’s storytelling ability
When he came walking towards the camera for a hug and said "David," I almost shit my pants.
BRO! LFG! I am so proud of you. Bittersweet moment for us viewers, as we have been through your ups and downs and now it's over!! I feel like i just broke 90 as we were all fully invested in your journey! Congrats again, and make sure you check out The Highland Links in Cape Cod Mass. Great bit of history on that course for the US!
Hey Erik. I stopped playing golf around age 14 to pursue other sports in high school. I'm 22 now and your channel has really helped me get back into it. Still no better feeling than hitting a good shot. Much love 👌✌
Congrats man, love your approach to the game on this one. Something we can all strive for.... I am definitely Zen deficient
A newly built TopGolf near my offices and discovering your videos just 3 months ago have fueled a new passion in me for golf. I played sports my entire life and played golf on occasion in my teens and 20's. But now at 40, I have a newly found love and appreciation for the sport which your videos have attributed to that. Thanks Erik!
I've loved every Break 90 video and man, you absolutely smashed this one! Looking forward to seeing you break 84!
So happy for you man. I love the content, keep it up. 👍
Awesome EAL! That was exciting. Was pulling for you. Seeing you get in the zone on so many shots was inspiring.
Proud of you Erik! Well done on breaking 90! Been a pleasure to watch this series.
This was a great video to watch on my birthday! I was rooting for you to break 90 for a while! To watch you break 90 on my birthday just makes me want to continue to enjoy the game of golf!
I would love to play a round with you one day! You remind me how much the game of golf is not only about how you play but more about enjoying the round each and every shot! Keep the great content going!
Wow, you played this round really well...nice edit with the music, too. I was on the edge of my seat!
Great to finally see you do it!!
This series cant end! We love it
Congrats man! Incredible work
Only fitting to break 90 in the Bay Area! Congrats Erik! Seeing you struggle through the back nine mentally and physically makes this video so relatable and humbling. Shows how different 2 nines can really be and just how much of a grind golf is start to finish. Appreciate all that you and your team do! 🙏🏼❤️
Oh man this was such a good 2 part series. Happy for your Erik. Hopefully be joining the break 90 crew soon too!
very proud of this and this is only my 5th video i watched. subbed man, Really cool to see an average golfer play what we consider really good. I want to get to this level of play. awesome job.
my man i love the break 90 show... please keep it going
Well done EAL!
Great content.
Favourite channel on UA-cam by far 👍🏻
Love your videos, it's just very relatable golf! Great shots followed by not so great shots, that birdie / quadruple is a classic on my cards 😂
Cheers Mate! So happy for you! Way to embrace a challenge (that, let’s face toke your lunch money in the past) with positivity and perseverance; only to triumph mightily in the end! Great Job!
Dope, congrats and thanks for another quality vid
Great job! Persistence and drive. Keep em coming!
Live the video, love the drama, cheering for you all the way, I can feel your emotions on 18, I can feel the sigh of relief, I love the swing improving. Keep it going man. We all remember the break 90 where you smack a tree lol. This is redemption all the way. 🏌🏽♂️🏌🏽♂️🏌🏽♂️🏌🏽♂️
I love your editing, I was truly right there with you hole 1 to 18! great round mate
Just stumbled upon this channel and great job, good content
Nice call out for Collin there, you called it.
I'm loving the shot tracer on the divot. Kudos to the editor.
I made a hole in one at 17 back in the early 90’s. Love your Vlogs great work EAL 👌
Called it! Congrats man! Great job
Boom!!! Knew you could do it, well done. Awesome video as always 👏🏌🏼♂️⛳️
Well done EAL, relatively new subscriber (3 months or so) its a fantastic channel, keep up the hard work and quality content, 🍻 on breaking the 90
Well done Erik, great series watching you go through purgatory and back to euphoria
That is one great video! Thank you, EAL
Can’t wait for the new break 80 season, coming soon!
Love the shot tracer on your divots EAL!
CONGRATS EAL!!!!!! Great stuff as always
I freaked out when you mentioned Collin Morikawa..what great PGA Champion he is.. Thanks for a great video..it was great to seen you crush 90..Bring it on the next Track!!
The suspense was killing me! Awesome job!
Well done man, so happy and proud for you
Love it, nice work.
Congrats. You‘re always entertaining. Playing a round with you can be just fun.
Awesome watching you Break 90 on my home course. What an amazing 102nd PGA we had. I’m gonna try and do the same thing on Saturday. Here’s hoping!🏆
Solid content my dude. Awesome work
Congratulations Erik... you've done it!!! Well played and well deserved👏👏.... great series.... 👍
"We've all been tested for COVID..." at the end was hilarious! Congrats man! Miss the drama though!!
Well done Eric, better mindset that day. Ball striking an aim was a hell of a lot better. Thanks for the video 👌🏼
These are so relaxing
Congrats dude - solid effort on a tough track!
Well done. Bring on the break 80 series!
Way to go EAL! Your joy over the last few holes got me in the feels.
You’re way too humble EAL, between that bomb for birdie and that drive on 18 I would’ve taken my shirt off for sure. What a phenomenal video, your crew is outstanding.
to answer your question... it was incredible and its awesome that you made a Morikawa reference.
Watched all of these videos and your consistency of coming up consistently short on approaches is worth looking at. Also that 4 iron is a block machine, look into a hybrid swap. Great video on a great course.
Awesome man! Great job. Also, way to predict the Collin Morikawa dub!
God bless EAL and these course vlogs
Boom! So awesome to see your accomplishment. Hell yea brother!!
Pretty damn cool! Congrats on the accomplishment, and solid reference for Morikawa.
Congrats, although I know you hate to "chase the number", in general. Love these Vlogs and the video and editing is superb. Keep 'em coming!
Great stuff. That 9 iron out of the deep stuff was epic.
Congrats EAL. “The golf in me recognizes the golf in you.” That’s an awesome quote.
The background music is stressful
Does anyone know what that piece of music is called?
@@MrBcast99 I did some digging, it's Revelations - Tristan Barton, available here: ua-cam.com/video/A4EVDBD3RDQ/v-deo.html
@@hwilliams8086 really appreciate the effort mate! Thanks
@@MrBcast99 I also did some digging and found the actual track when Eric quads the 12th if that's what you're looking for? It's "Wonder" - Tristan Barton: ua-cam.com/video/XgxyxS4oM4I/v-deo.html
Low key this break 90 series was something that helped me push my desire to break 90 at my local course. It's not a Major caliber course or incredibly long, but everytime I go out on that course, this series was always in my head. Nearly had it this weekend, try again next. Congrats, Erik!
Duuude yes!!! Crushed.
Well done, you,be been thrum the pain, enjoy the moment. Rod
Congratulations Erik! Great job.
congrats EAL its been a pleasure to watch your journey amigo
Congrats, dude! Playing the second 9 at +8 after watch Rory butcher 12 & 13, that was huge!
