The game always picks a random number between 1 and 6 no matter how many maximum sockets you can get. Thus for an armor piece with 4 max sockets the chance to roll 4 sockets is 50%.

the odd +1 to def is lightly a debugging method. if the formula you have for finding an armor def forces positive numbers then giving it +1 makes sure it never gets 0. thus you avoid mathematical problems with %-based effects that are usually done with multiplication. example: 10 * 1.1 = 11 = 100% + 10% = 110% shud you allow that number to be 0 any multiplication will result in 0. nowadays you'd build that inn as an exception but as D2 was made for computers with significantly less RAM one can guess this simpler but functional solution was used to reserve computational power. interestingly that may well be why the identify system was implemented, as to move this computational load to a time veare the player felt safer and there reasonably less monsters on screen
I watch many of your videos and can give you some feedback that relates to most...Can you wrap up everything you taught us at the end into simple steps. By the time I finish watching your videos I always have to re-watch to figure out what steps I should take and still feel confused.

Will it matter if I use a exception or normal armor instead of elite? I am playing in NM hardcore currently so I don't have access to elite version :(. Could I ebug a exceptional version then upgrade it to elite later? Would I get the same result as though I were to ebug an elite version?

Question did they remove ebugging on D2R? I dropped an Eth Hellforge Plate with 715 Defense in the Pit earlier today on my hammdin. Cubed it for 4 sockets on XBox with Tal Thul PTopaz and it did NOT receive the 50% defense boost.

Is it normal that all Armor´s i will Bugged with Tal,Thul,Perf. Topaz getting only 1 Socket!?? I try it out by now 7 Etherical Armours everyone get only ´1 Socket :( WTF (Archon,Holy,Dusk,Sacred,....)
Luckily you didn't waste any high runes doing this. You can remove the runes from the armor by putting it into the cube with a hel rune and a TP scroll. The runes will be destroyed in the process, but luckily el sol dol and io aren't super rare. Good luck finding a Lo rune though

Yeah well if you havent played diablo 2 at all before then it is not common sense, which is why these videos are very helpful, might aswell explain what it stands for.

Single player is more challenging in every single way lol except for the lag, playing singleplayer hardcore self found can be a lot more exciting than playing ladder and getting god gear in like a week just from trading

For Diablo 2 resurrected these recipes do not increase def, they add sockets.

Why it's called 'bugging'? It seems more like a feature in the game.
I thought the +1 defense was only added when an item has the +% Enhanced Defense magical property... and to the base defense not after the bonus.
So e-bugging is just using the add socked recipe to a eth none socketed armor item = rolls sockets + ads 50% defence!
Can this be done with weapons ?

Yesterday I made a fortitude only to realize my lo rune was a jo rune, so I completely screwed the last rune.

I think the confusion here lies in the fact that it looks like a recipe but then sounds like a broken game mechanism commonly said as “bugged.”
