It's actually kind of funny how I discovered Colony House. I was at my root canal appointment, (which I was not looking forward to at all!) and the nurse lady, or assistant asked if I wanted a magazine, and of course I said yes. So as I was flipping through the pages, and I seen the heading "Awesome band, with awesome tunes!" so I was like "oh okay, i'll look into them when I get home". So I did and now i'm forever thankful for that root canal appointment. I have a tooth that no longer hurts AND I have a new favorite band. My fave's by them is "Silhouettes"and "Keep on Keeping on".
@@stealy3992 yes ik but alot of people are going in the indie deep end this year because i see alot of people wearing alot of indie stuff like hair, clothes, and songs i see it on media maybe they want to look cute or something idk maybe the trend
Caleb Chapman said in an interview the song is: ''Kinda a call to not miss the beautiful moments that come in life, because of the dark moments that can so easily overshadow the good moments...We lost my little sister when she was 5 years old and I have so many beautiful moments with my little sister and then theres this one tragic memory that so easily overshadows 5 years of beautiful things...When something tragic happens, the pain of the circumstance often overshadows all the beauty that came before it and even after it. In order to illuminate the future, we sometimes have to walk into the darkness of the past and turn on the lights. We can’t always see the beauty that comes from this in detail, but we know that it is there for we see the silhouettes.”
Lyrics: Are you half empty? Why don't you fill up? There's no sense in holding onto something broken, Did you lose something? Or someone you love? You've still got that story tell it every morning, Driving down a road, down a road that's rolling All the lovely memories you hearts been holding Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on, Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on, Driving down a road, a road that's hidden, All your faithful memories, your faith for living Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on, Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on, So come on! Nothing is perfect, For that there's no cure, So don't you start to bury the good with the bad, and the ugly, Driving down a road, down a road that's rollin' All the lovely memories you hearts been holding Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on, Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on, Driving down a road, a road that's hidden, All your faithful memories, your faith for living Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on, Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on, So come on! And I can feel your heartbeat slipping away It's hard to catch the light when you're running from the day! So wait for it! Wait for it! Wait! Driving down a road, down a road that's rolling All the lovely memories you hearts been holding Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on, Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on, Driving down a road, a road that's hidden, All your faithful memories, your faith for living Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on, Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on, So come on!
This song will forever feel like; Running down my street barefoot Driving into the sunset on the highway with the windows down Singing as loud as I can in the shower Hugging people I love Thinking of all the memories the good and the bad Learning and loving every day I wake up and every night I close my eyes to go to sleep
This album holds a special place in my heart. I was listening to it while I unpacked my things at university nearly 5 years ago. This album has a lot to do with handling change and grief, and getting out of your comfort zone to live life to the fullest. Now I'm in my last semester and it's never been more relevant. Thank you, Colony House, for this album!
I'm so glad I saw them in concert~ They are FABULOUS live, wayyyy better live. Saw them in San Francisco (perfect place) this past summer, posted about it later and they liked my post. Very underrated band. Good vibes~
I was visiting San Francisco during spring break with my mom, and we were just so heartbroken about how all the businesses and shops my mom used love going to back in the day were now closed due to coronavirus and just people leaving the Bay in general. seeing all this kind of made us feel down, but we continued just going around the city until we got to a mall on 24th Mission St. we went inside some DSW, some type of shoe store, and this song was playing and instantly lifted my mood up! I danced in public (which I usually don’t, so you know how much of a banger this song is). thank you for lifting my mood up that day and for creating a pretty good memory!
They played at R:Invent - Re:Play. The sound setup was not great, but was my intro to them. Drums and base overpowered everything else including vocals. Listened again the next day as I was curious. Much better and I am now a fan.
Every song they make doesn’t sound like it was done because it’s work. It just sounds like people getting together and having fun with eachother, and every time I listen to one of their songs I can feel that. I really hope they hit big, the vibe of their music is amazing, i feel lighter whenever I listen to them ☺️
Shoutout Hollister for putting me on 😂💪🏾. Summer/Fall 2014, senior year, first actual job with a paycheck. Needless to say im not Hollister's demo, but imma people's person lol. I fw everything & it was nothing better than getting put onto pop songs while I organize clothes 😂
Just getting into this band now after spiraling down a rabbit hole and binge listening to a bunch of songs off the Veggie Rocks album. Caleb and Steven Curtis Chapman sing I Love My Lips together. So now I'm here, feeling better than I have in a long time
They kind of give me a Coldplay vibe, but still have their own style! You guys really deserve more recognition for the amazing music you make! Keep it up ;)!
I look forward to when their songs come up on my mix. They're my favorite band and this song was one of the first I heard. I can't wait for their new album to come out!!!

I feel like since this band is kinda obscure everyone has an awesome story about how they discovered them, which kinda makes me glad they aren't world-famous.
THIS SONG... Im absolutely addicted to this thing now. Its funny because i heard 2:20 on an applebees commercal, and here i am fan girling over this eargasmic composition. Ps. This reminds me of really super close best friend who has been off somewhere else for a long time. Shell be back soon

Lol, same here I found out about them in a magazine in September, they're one of the most underrated bands. They deserve better
Ofeina Akau i also found them first in a magazine!! from the Philippines!!
Ofeina Akau Are you Samoan?
What is this song about because it sounds like a song opened to interpretation.
This song's about love and compassion towards world peace.
So ridiculously underrated!
sad but true
NelliBean but aren't most indie bands underrated?
We've all become hipsters :O
Anything's underrated that ain't shoved down on our throats in the bloody mainstream and doesn't have everyone else sucking up tpo the gonads.

It feels like summer nights riding down country lanes on bikes, going down to swim in the lake.
@Amy don’t be shy, drop the name 😂

Aww man God will bless you with some one better let go hun !! Keep going

Thanks for lyrics! 😄😄
Thank you!
I believe the correct lyric is driving down a road that's STOLEN, not rollin'....
This song will forever feel like;
Running down my street barefoot

Singing as loud as I can in the shower
Hugging people I love

I remember hearing this back in like 2015 on a date and its just been in my head ever since and I finally found it!
Heard on XM and been covering it acoustic
how is this not BIG??

Guys...this is really good.

The chorus makes me think of oldies 70's songs like elvis presley or his era..... ❤
these guys are really good live
