His pension runs out and he is in debt so he goes and asks for forgivness from his parents saying that he will come home and that he's not a criminal. I kinda feel like that may be the point. The entire song is about how keeping up the facade can completely ruin you, and the song itself is keeping up a facade too, because the "singer" doesn't want to admit that he can't keep up the lifestyle anymore.
I remember I heard this in a furniture store for the first time and just sat down in a comfy chair and stared into space as it played. Gives off such a sad, nostalgic, but hopelessly hopeful vibe.
It’s 2013: I just won my first race in Forza Horizon. The cutscene ends and I’m freely able to control my car, and the radio begins to play. This is the first song I hear as I begin to zoom across the map through tunnels and and barely making it past sharp turns.
This is an old song and whenever I hear it, it reminds me of my dad for some reason. He played this song so much, and the song Gives You Hell. I love him though!
This song never stops affecting me, though all their songs do. Some stay longer, some linger, and some, like this one, instantly impact me. I love their music.

This song is so relatable especially right now. Ugh, 'and she'll never flaunt around an empty purse.' I used to listen to this song between the ages of 12 and 16 and now I get this song as a 20 year old.
I know no one cares but I just need to say it somewhere At first I didn't get why this song was about hardships yet sounded so happy and optimistic but today I kinda got a slap to the face and now I understand that whoever composed the song was so desperate to feel happy that they made a song that would make others feel good even though you feel like you're in a sh*t situation
+8happyperson Yep just take a walk. It has always been my go to when in a sticky situation or when life has gotten a hold of me. There doesn't have to be a destination just a purpose.
+Carol Vevegas I agree, taking walks is the best when you just need a break from work. When I walk I just go anywhere and I think about life. Both the song and the video were pretty awesome
This song has strong road trip/wanderlust vibes. I hear this song and I just wanna get out of my house and go explore the world and see new sights, experience new places, fall in love. It’s almost melancholic now in the age of the rona. All I can feel now is a sense of mourning, mourning all that we’ve lost. The worst part is part of me feels like things will never again get back to that point. Society has undergone a paradigm shift and even when lockdowns and restrictions are lifted, I think the old world as we knew it is permanently gone.
Listened to this on repeat one of the many times my mom kicked me out of the house growing up. Changed the vibe of the walk and I will forever love this song. It reminds me of a bad time that I overcame and how much strength I had for being so young.
This felt nostalgic the first time I heard it 7 years ago and now it’s genuinely nostalgic because 7 years have gone by so fast and so many things are so different. Taking a walk down memory lane right now.
I remember seeing Passion Pit opening for Muse in 2010. The girls in front of me danced like crazy the whole time and straight up left when they finished. They didn't even stay for Muse. That's some fandom right there.

Been looking for this song for so long. All I could remember was vaguely the beat and the opening of the music video. I've finally found it after searching the internet for a while, it was worth the listen.

The lyrical beauty of this song is so underrated. The story of a european immigrant bringing his family to America for a better life and fighting through adversity. And the line "we can rip apart those socialists and all their damn taxes," goes hard af.

It’s 2013: I just won my first race in Forza Horizon. The cutscene ends and I’m freely able to control my car, and the radio begins to play. This is the first song I hear as I begin to zoom across the map through tunnels and and barely making it past sharp turns.
I just barely missed horizon 1 i started playing forza on motorsport 5 but horizon 2 is my favorite game of all time
TechnoCarrot dang you missed a gem
@@kevinscalia2362 Yeah I missed it too. Such a shame. It is available in the Xbox Store though as backwards-compatible
What a game the first forza horizon was
Horizon 4 is good and all but I’d rather play the 1st one any day of the week
8 years already 🤯
It was my favorite game of all time
This is an old song and whenever I hear it, it reminds me of my dad for some reason. He played this song so much, and the song Gives You Hell. I love him though!
This is beckbrojack's intro song
Deathstare _proxy I’m pretty sure it’s the acapella version, not this one.
Both are bops
This song never stops affecting me, though all their songs do. Some stay longer, some linger, and some, like this one, instantly impact me. I love their music.

Lyrics
All these kinds of places
Make it seem like it's been ages
Tomorrow's sun with buildings scrape the sky
I love this country dearly
I can feel the lighter clearly
But never thought I'd be alone to try
Once I was outside Penn Station
Selling red and white carnations
You were still alone
My wife and I
Before we marry, save my money
Brought my dear wife over
Now I want to bring my family state side
But off the boat they stayed a while
Then scatter cross the course
Once a year I'll see them for a week or so at most
I took a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk
Take a walk, oh-oh-oh
Take a walk, oh-oh-oh
I take a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk
Practice isn't perfect
With the market cuts and loss
I remind myself that times could be much worse
My wife won't ask me questions
And there's not so much to ask
And she'll never flaunt around an empty purse
Once my mother-in-law came
Just to stay a couple nights
Then decided she would stay the rest of her life
I watch my little children, play some board game in the kitchen
And I sit and pray they never feel my strife
But then my partner called to say the pension funds were gone
He made some bad investments
Now the counts are overdrawn
I took a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk
Take a walk, oh-oh-oh
Take a walk, oh-oh-oh
I took a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk
Honey it's your son I think I borrowed just to much
We had taxes we had bills
We had a lifestyle to front
And tonight I swear I'll come home
And we'll make love like we're young
And tomorrow you'll cook dinner
For the neighbors and the kids
We could rent the Wart of socialists
And all their ten taxes
You'll see I am no criminal
I'm down on both bad knees
I'm just too much a coward
To admit when I'm in need
I took a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk
Take a walk, oh-oh-oh
Take a walk, oh-oh-oh
I took a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk
I took a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk

Man the intro to this song is absolutely fantastic.
This song is so relatable especially right now. Ugh, 'and she'll never flaunt around an empty purse.' I used to listen to this song between the ages of 12 and 16 and now I get this song as a 20 year old.

I know no one cares but I just need to say it somewhere
At first I didn't get why this song was about hardships yet sounded so happy and optimistic but today I kinda got a slap to the face and now I understand that whoever composed the song was so desperate to feel happy that they made a song that would make others feel good even though you feel like you're in a sh*t situation
+8happyperson thats why we should take a walk and not let life bring us down all the time. take a breath and enjoy it where you can.
+sylvainwhitegames well the singer of this song did try to commit suicide the same year this song came out sooo
+Eric Adams you are so right👍
This song has strong road trip/wanderlust vibes.
Shouldn't have been such a little shit.

The lyrical beauty of this song is so underrated. The story of a european immigrant bringing his family to America for a better life and fighting through adversity. And the line "we can rip apart those socialists and all their damn taxes," goes hard af.
As I recall, this song was about the 08 recession. The line about socialists were more or less about misplacing anger.
