It's not fully true, and that's what makes it more impressive - he USED to genuinely love Kallen, but after the 500 years, he stopped doing this purely for love but instead as a mean of redemption because he is a "Sinner", which is why he has the power of binding and house apoc's signature weapon is a cross. He knows that Kallen is more or less destined with Sakura, so he revived her to give her a different happy future regardless of if she was going to be with him or not.

I feel like that's more because it got memed so hard because of the whole Yae Sakura stuff (and damn, is Sakura Samsara even canon anymore?) and how Kallen showed her feelings for her more. Although that latter part I'm personally ehh about, but I feel like it all goes either way. That one captainverse event where they delved into Yae Kasumi's backstory likely solidified it for most people though, with how that Kallen who somehow lived to the present revived Sakura just as Otto would have done for her (although not in a very flawed way). Personally, I just saw that scenario in that World Bubble as a way to show how similar the choices they make could be when Otto and Kallen are when faced with similar scenarios, Kallen's regret at that point was likely the same as Otto's as she was basically the only one who got to live on and see the next day. And honestly, if she didn't hear Otto's message by the end of her revival in that new world/timeline and didn't get her own closure there, she may have just as easily gone down that path to find him too. Overall, I am of the idea that Otto loved Kallen, Kallen also loved Otto, and Kallen just as easily loved Yae Sakura all the same. This is at least the idea I feel would do all their characters' actions throughout the story justice. At least from my interpretation of the story at the very least.

I don't know jack about hi3, mainly because I didn't have the space to play the game and i was not at all interested in the aesthetics/characters (no shade ppl can like whatever they want, the hyper tech stuff and aggressive physics just aren't my thing), but it's lore definitely seems interesting enough. Even if I'm only curious from a hsr and gi standpoint, but the weirdo elitists definitely turn me away. As far as I know the game's been out for years, possibly a decade now, and there's no way anything in it could ever be summarized when so much information relies on additional information that would also have to be expanded on. That's not true. Time and time again it is addressed in Kiana's PoV that Himeko died, Siren even taunted her for it in dialog before she broke free and seized control. Another thing is the song they used is composed lyrics that 'conversed' with the other lines played in the other cinematics.

3:26:49 the Imaginary Tree is not the same thing as Irmisil. Irmisil is a like small version that Primodial one creates. The Imaginary Tree holds all universes of the Honkai verse, as its leaf’s. So Teyvat, HI3 universe, ZZZ, and HSR universes are all leafs on the tree. Otto escaped the imaginary tree momentarily so he could create alternate timelines where the woman he loved, Kallen Kaslana would live. In the process he erased himself from existence. The scenes you are seeing at the end are a flashback of his life.

I feel like that's more because it got memed so hard because of the whole Yae Sakura stuff (and damn, is Sakura Samsara even canon anymore?) and how Kallen showed her feelings for her more. Although that latter part I'm personally ehh about, but I feel like it all goes either way.
That one captainverse event where they delved into Yae Kasumi's backstory likely solidified it for most people though, with how that Kallen who somehow lived to the present revived Sakura just as Otto would have done for her (although not in a very flawed way). Personally, I just saw that scenario in that World Bubble as a way to show how similar the choices they make could be when Otto and Kallen are when faced with similar scenarios, Kallen's regret at that point was likely the same as Otto's as she was basically the only one who got to live on and see the next day. And honestly, if she didn't hear Otto's message by the end of her revival in that new world/timeline and didn't get her own closure there, she may have just as easily gone down that path to find him too.
Overall, I am of the idea that Otto loved Kallen, Kallen also loved Otto, and Kallen just as easily loved Yae Sakura all the same. This is at least the idea I feel would do all their characters' actions throughout the story justice. At least from my interpretation of the story at the very least.

I don't know jack about hi3, mainly because I didn't have the space to play the game and i was not at all interested in the aesthetics/characters (no shade ppl can like whatever they want, the hyper tech stuff and aggressive physics just aren't my thing), but it's lore definitely seems interesting enough. Even if I'm only curious from a hsr and gi standpoint, but the weirdo elitists definitely turn me away.
As far as I know the game's been out for years, possibly a decade now, and there's no way anything in it could ever be summarized when so much information relies on additional information that would also have to be expanded on. Not to mention it being done in a twitch chat, but regardless of fanon being confused for canon or ""normies"", the elitists definitely aren't going to make anybody interested in a game they claim to love. I genuinely love genshin and its lore, star rail and its lore, and i love it when "normies" see aspects of genshin/hsr's lore that interests them. I just don't understand how some could claim to love a game, one of the less (?) popular hoyoverse games, and then do everything they can to make people feel...unwanted? In a video game space? Over video games??

That's not true. Time and time again it is addressed in Kiana's PoV that Himeko died, Siren even taunted her for it in dialog before she broke free and seized control. Another thing is the song they used is composed lyrics that 'conversed' with the other lines played in the other cinematics.

I wonder why they said that Otto did all those things based on "self-redemption", do you understand what the sentence at the end of Thus Spoke Apocalypse means? Otto created a new timeline for Kallen based entirely on his own selfishness that's what the sentence "This is the most selfish thing one can do" really means, and now "why does Otto have such selfishness?" the answer is simple (I won't say something like "Otto loves Kallen" because it was never really confirmed in the in-game story), in my opinion, Otto considers Kallen as his hero, a hero who saved him from the suffering of the world he experienced (especially the oppression from his own family)
everything Otto does is for Kallen, even though he himself knows that Kallen would not like what he does (I'm talking about Otto's actions even before Kallen's death, where Otto helped with a research that used humans as test subjects)
Otto tries to help Kallen achieve her dream, where Kallen dreams of saving all of humanity (according to the promise they made at their first meeting)
this is also the reason Otto helps prepare humanity to face Honkai (Honkai weapons, stigma implants, K-423/MC Kiana, etc)

Chats are making their head canon go rampart and ruins the actual lore. While it is true that Kallen likes Yae, at first she's actually in a relationship with Otto. Kallen is NOT lesbian, she's bisexual. And fuck ppl who said Otto isn't bad, HE IS A BAD GUY from the start. His moral compass is already fried since the start, and yet what he's done is arguably the only way at that moment that can save the world. And, that is also how Kallen found out about his immoral experiment, and how his relationship with her fell through in the end.
Otto might have the sheer determination and dedication, and sad ending, but to diminish him to just a 'good guy gone bad' so his sin should be forgiven or something you can just ignore, or just some sort of 'simp' who's insanely fixated, is crazy.

Kallen died because of Otto. He spent 500 years living with that regret. So, Otto asked God for power to destroy the world but He actually used that power to create another timeline where Kallen lived. In that split second, God took the power back, and Otto died.

One of the bad parts of the fandom is shipping sometimes overtaking what the narrative has to say even when it's written directly in the story. There's plenty of unambiguous ships where that's actually the case, like Coralie and Helia or Durandal and Rita. Kallen is not like them.
