You’re welcome. I’m glad to help out our HD riding brothers… I’ve been to France numerous times over the years and I enjoy your country very much. Viva la France!
I had 03' fxdx Speedo just go from zero to pegged on fastest speed peg, by just turning ignition key from off too on? Speedo shop said they could do anything. so I bought Speedo from shop used replacement parts. shop had 3.
thanks this answered ALL our questions about this fix. You are the ONLY one that showed the details.
You’re welcome! I looked everywhere and I couldn’t find any info so I did the research and thought I would share it.
Thanks for posting, I couldn't tell what head was on the screw.
Yeah, it’s a really small Phillip’s head screw that due to its hidden location is easily stripped. You think Harley might have used a beefier screw…
It helped me, thanks.
Regards from France

thank mine broke also
They last a long time but due to the vibration and stress they will eventually need to be replaced, especially the little screw.
The screw strips
It does strip so buy a few spares.
better yet... take a rotary tool and just cut the knob. That's what I did and man is it better
That is an option, although I prefer the knob.
