This is a follow up to our previous video titled Succulent Garden Desert Scape Conversion. This is about one year later after adding the rock topper and a few more plants. Also not mentioned is that we had to add sand and gravel mix to the topsoil because the topsoil was mostly fertilizer, which began to grow fungus. The garden is maturing and acclimating very nicely as you will see.

Wow, I’ve done a lot of work to my Corvette to get it to run. Perfect then I saw this video and mine was doing the exact same thing. I done exactly what he said. Turned it out a couple turns put it back together and engine light is off perfect thanks for the video.
I’m glad that the video helped you out! Those little switches are never mentioned and remain mostly a mystery. The trick is to use a multimeter to verify that the switch is opening and closing when it is supposed to. And yes, from the sensor switch screwed in all the way bottomed out, unscrew it about 3 turns or 3/16” and it should be good. Test again with a DVM like I demonstrated in the video.
My father was Blackhawk pilot when he bought this watch in the 90's. I just inherited it for finishing flight school and this video is helping me bring the watch back to life. Thanks for helping me get this thing in the air again!
I thank your dad and you for your service! (I also served) I’m glad the video helped. I still consider this to be one of the most attractive watches ever made.
Yea. I put the wrong battery in mine , It let the smoke out!
Be absolutely sure that you install the proper battery or as you mention, you can smoke your watch and ruin it beyond repair. Keep the watch for parts or sell it for parts. Don’t throw it away.
Thanks you 😊
You’re welcome. I hope this helps. Save money by doing it yourself before taking it to the shop.
Thank you
Can you provide part numbers for the sensor, switch as well as the tee fitting they screw into? Not seeing them broken out in most Corvette supply places.
I don’t remember if I bought the items from Rockauto.com or from the local auto parts store. The T fitting you might have to get from the junkyard or from a corvette repair shop such as J&D Corvette in Bellflower California. Sadly I sold my 1985 Corvette earlier this year to purchase a 2017 C7 and with the sale went all of my receipts and part numbers.
Can you still use the AV input?
Yes, if your car had the AV inputs available, you can still use them.
Really, come on now! Do we really need instructions on how to crank a Harley? If we do, then we're a lot worse off than I realized. 🤔
I wish you showed us the wire splice man.
You’re right, I should’ve shown how to splice the two wires, but it is easy enough with a little common sense. After gaining access to the passenger side visor wiring, simply connect two small gauge wires to the existing pair of wires that provide power to the passenger side visor. Measure to ensure that the wires are long enough to reach the driver’s side visor attachment area so that you can connect the provided visor wires accordingly. Tuck the wires and connectors in the visor hinge cavity and replace the trim. You can’t go wrong with only two wires. I hope this helps.
@@JuanLopez-nt1dh good man. I just did this repair today. Definitely easier once you get started.
Nice! The new visors make the interior cleaner and the two mirrors are a plus.
how can i get the data confic for my car?
I’m not sure what exactly you’re asking but you should be able to search online for your year and model of your Ford and in your search include the stereo specs. Also, Crutchfield.com is a good source to search for car stereo spec information.
Thank you from Australia, exactly what I was searching for.!
Great! I’m glad to hear that it helped you out. Getting the bike level without a lift can be challenging. I recently purchased a lift which makes jacking up the bike much easier.
What does the sticker say on the inside of the case back?
Thank you for this great video. I owned this watch and have had it before I met my wife. Still ticking but the date hands keeps falling out and I don't know how to pull out the stem to take out the movement to put them back in. Alarm stem as well in the way, but the jeweler has done it for me twice. I change the battery and get it going but the stem removal seems a bit for me. Any ideas?
Hello eightiesgod (love the handle 😊), I had the same issue once years ago with one of the hands falling off and I sent it to the Seiko repair center in Mahwah New Jersey for repairs. The hands have never fallen off again. I also had an issue with the buttons sticking and I used “3 in 1” oil to free them up. I applied a tiny amount using a toothpick being carefull not to get it on the movement or bezel. Then using a tiny screw driver I pushed the button out and in repeatedly, adding more oil, until it moved freely. I don’t know how they get those buttons out and how they replace the seals to keep it waterproof? Good luck with your watch and I hope you get it fixed.
thank mine broke also
They last a long time but due to the vibration and stress they will eventually need to be replaced, especially the little screw.
Nice. I think this is the ONLY video covering this.
Yeah, I couldn’t find anything else out there so I made a quick video. Afterwards, I found that the repair manual does show how to do the adjustment but not many people have the shop manual. Replacing the parking brake pads are something else but they shouldn’t wear out unless you drive the car with the parking brake on. Typically just adjust the tension on the cable and you should be fine. I hope this helps!
Spectacular !
Thank you Don! We appreciate your comment. The garden continues to grow and bloom. It turned out really nice, and we’re saving a lot of money on our monthly water bill.
Is this in California? What is your garden zone?
Yes, we are in Southern California, Ontario, I believe we are region 9(?)
What is the name of your rock top dressing?
We used 3/4 inch California Gold for the topper, and for the perimeter stones we used roja mujeres (?).
Such a beautiful garden.
Thank you. The garden is holding up and maturing very nicely. No major maintenance yet, although we do have to trim some pups and babies that are over growing.
. Are the plans facing N S E or W.
We live on a corner lot that faces East, and we are fortunate to get some sun from all directions mostly from the East, South, and West. Partial sun from the North depending on the area of the yard, such as the long section next to the block wall or the front area next to the driveway. The sunlight also varies throughout the day.
Never, never ever pull the clutch in to start a Harley. It should be in neutral prior to starting. Starting a Harley Davidson motor and pulling in the clutch will cause clutch, primary and compensator damage. Not a good video.
If you listen closely, I say “Pull the Choke.” I agree, never pull the clutch when starting your ride. I could have mentioned to verify that your tranny is in Neutral.
@@JuanLopez-nt1dh I think he was saying that because in the video you can clearly see your left hand pulling the clutch in prior to pressing the start button....To be fair I don't think it makes any difference on this particular bike. Older stuff? Maybe. This bike has neutral safety switches. I don't see why a manufacturer would put a safety switch on the clutch lever that ALLOWS you the starter to turn over (while the year lever is in gear) if it was going to damage anything. Think about it ...if the bike is working properly, the neutral safety switch won't allow the starter to turn whilev the transmission in gear because the bike will lurch. However , once you press in the clutch, it's designed to start even if it's in gear . Why design a button that bypasses the neutral safety switch on the clutch if it were to damage it? I would think it would be designed so it would not start, irregardless of the clutch being pressed in or not. Some antique machines will try to start in gear and roll...sure. But a 1993 (as long as it hasn't been tampered with) isn't one of those machines.
Haha! You’re right! I did pull the freakin clutch when I hit the start button…damn!…alright, I’ll own up to it and allow me to explain. I had just rolled my bike out of the garage and I couldn’t remember if I had left it in first to prevent it from rolling (yeah another thing folks might complain about). Anyway, making the video was happening very quickly and as a safety precaution (so that the bike wouldn’t lurch, as many experienced bikers have experienced when starting a bike not in neutral) , as a reflex I pulled the clutch and immediately released it as I noticed the green neutral indicator light on. Afterwards, I thought that I should have mentioned to make sure that the bike’s transmission gear is in the neutral position. Had I made the video while sitting on my bike I would have instinctively verified that, and simply pressed the start button and nothing else. Ok, next time I’ll use the following script: Make sure that fuel valve on the left side of the tank is in the open position to allow Good fuel to flow into the carburetor. Enable/disable kill switch if you have one, make sure tranny is in neutral gear(verify Green indicator light on tank on) after inserting the key in the tank selecter switch to rotate it to start/run position, on the right handle bar put switch in run position, pull choke on lower left side of tank, crank throttle twice, push start button on right handle bar. If the battery is not dead the bike should start. If the bike doesn’t start, proceed to troubleshoot. Thanks for the comments!
@@JuanLopez-nt1dh thanks for the reply! I'll have to make sure, but I'm relatively certain you should be just fine pulling the clutch in when cranking. I really don't think it would harm anything on the motorcycle you own, or any bike that new.
Wow, wow, wow! What an awesome garden you have!
Thank you! It really is maturing nicely. We are starting to have trim pups.
Lol, the aloe pups could be due to the soil, but if anything, that’s just how they are! Most aloes will grow like mad if they’re happy, and after rain, especially. Here in SoCal (I’m in San Diego), they reliably bloom and pup year-round-but especially in winter, I’ve noticed. Never knew that it was a real thing until I read an article about it! I guess because they’re from South Africa and have opposite seasons to us in the northern hemisphere, they’ll go crazy at certain times…
Thank you Eric for the info, that’s good to know. We were in San Diego last weekend visiting friends and catching a ballgame at Petco Park. Driving around the neighborhoods we saw a lot of very nice succulent gardens. It’s definitely a garden friendly place!
Did the rear view camera and backup audible sensors still work with this upgrade?
Yes, the rear view camera and sensors work.
Amazing garden great job !❤
Thank you! We’re glad you enjoy it. It really is nice walking through the garden and seeing the sprouting pups and blooming flowers. The bees and the hummingbirds are liking it as well.
Gorgeous it made me Happy looking @ your Beautiful garden.Love it.Thanks 4 Sharing.
You are welcome! It is a joy to walk through the garden and to see how the various succulents have grown and bloomed. Very soon we’ll have to do some maintenance such as removing some of the overcrowding aoneums and aloes…
I have an issue with my sync 3. I've tried to update to newer version and and it was more than 3 hours updating ..i had to go ,because it was more time than expected and i unplug the USB before finishing. On the next day the screen was okay.. showing that Update Successefully installed ,then turned off and never turned on...The USB is not working anymore..i tried to remove the fuse 67 ,,power button with >>,the + from the battery, nothing works...The radio works,,i just cannot change the stations,Wi-FI works as well, during the night the screen is not completle black there is a light behind... Obviously there was an issue installing properly..my question is it possible to update from computer somehow ,if USB is not working.... or what how to solve this issue?
I don’t believe that I can help you with your updating issues, because I have never tried it. Reach out to Crutchfield.com and ask if they can offer any help.
Do you do it with the parking brake off first? And where is that adjuster located under the car?
Yes, parking break is off first. Jack up rear driver’s Side and follow the cable from the rear driver’s side brake towards the passenger rear tire and you will see it tucked under.
Thanks a bunch! And it should be able to be adjusted to work ?
This adjustment should work provided that the rear parking brake liner is not completely worn out and the brake assembly is in good working order.
the 20-24ozs means, IMO, 20 ozs WET or 24 oz dry.
20 to 24 liquid ounces, but check the dipstick before draining and refill to the same.
DUH!!!!
DUHHH! Is right! I didn’t mention that I had not started my Harley in over a month, and the message was meant to demonstrate how bulletproof HDs are. And you know, you probably have people out there that don’t know how to fire a HD up.
Bought this new back in the day. It was my first big purchase and was nervous and excited to go to an AD and buy it. Back then no cellphones, no smart watches, this was the high technology including it being quartz. 30+ years later in the hobby and I still wear it once a month. This watch started my journey and I will never sell it. Thanks for the video! Had to change the battery and reset the watch. This was to the point and really helped!
I’m glad you enjoyed the video! It’s funny that just about everyone who has owned a watch has a story to go with it. These Seiko Aviator watches were very large for that time and they were very attractive that drew attention when you wore it. Both of my sons have their watches as do I and maybe someday they will be heirlooms…
It turned out absolutely amazing. I'm sure with time you can get cuttings from your tapestry and start tapestries in other areas. Plant choices were A+
Thank you! I made a follow up video that shows the garden today with larger islands and rows. We learned a lot and I plan to make a lessons learned video. Stay tuned!
Hello good job thank you🎉
Thank you for the comment! I hope that video helps.
Bought one of these back in September. Haven't really touched it since but am thinking this might be a slow grower. Id like to take it out of the nursery pot and get it ready for summer outside with a more substantial pot. Any insight into repotting this would be appreciated.
Hello Brassteeth, I’m learning about this species as well, and what I have learned is that they are very slow growers. Since planting mine about 8 months ago they haven’t grown any noticeable amount. On a good note, they haven’t died either! From what I’ve learned is that they will grow well in the earth or in a pot. Good luck with yours!
@@JuanLopez-nt1dh thanks for your time and help. I've got my mind made up to at least pull it out and look at the roots
get those emergency hood release canles installed. 👍
Hey Vikingtrader, thanks for the recommendation, but there’s another way to undo the hood latches without the hook-bar or homemade hood release cables. I was at the junkyard where the hood latch cable was broken so I had to figure out another way…and I did. When I get the time I’ll make a video on it.
Looks like it could use an Echeveria Crimson Tide... The garden looks beautiful after the rain!
Hello Joris, funny you should mention that…we just happened to have received a rare ECT from our loving cousins in The Netherlands and we will soon place it in a special place in the Garden. 😊
Hello! I love your garden.😊
It will save you water bills because even a month of not watering these succulents they will live...👌👍😀💐💐💐😍🤩🥰🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Luv it ❤️❤️❤️🥰🤩😍👌👍👏👏👏💐💐💐🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Thank you Eli!
Wow 😲😲😲 beautiful ❤️❤️❤️🥰🤩😍🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Thank you Eli…we really enjoy it as well!
Just beautiful ❤.
Thank you Ds, the garden is really an enjoyable sight.
You have incredible plant varieties and colors. Thanks for videoing and sharing. The fun thing with succulents is that they're very easy to dig up and move around if they need more or less sun, shade, water come summer. But they look awesome now.
Thank you Js, we do plan to make some minor changes an to begin to harvest the pups and babies.
Beautiful, I would say it's the Best looking yard on your block!!!!! STUNNING ❤❤❤❤❤
Hello Ronnie, we would agree with you! We are hoping to start a trend of water conservation through succulent gardens.
Wow beautiful
Thank you Caloes, we enjoy the garden as well.
Beautiful plants
On behalf of “Lochi” and “Nessi” I thank you very much! I just wish that they would show signs of growing…
Thank you for sharing new subscriber here like 2 videos ❤
Thank you 🙏 I’m glad you enjoyed the videos. I’m going to make a “Lessons Learned “ video someday that shows how we did certain things and some setbacks that we experienced.
Are you in Calif. ? Did you do the planting ? Looks great ! Could be a Laura Eubanks install.
Hello William, yes we live in the Inland Empire here in Southern California. My wife had the garden idea and I assisted with the planning, labor, and funding 😁. We did most of the work ourselves with a little help from my brother. Thank you for the comments. This video shows the process of how we converted our lawn to the succulent garden: m.ua-cam.com/video/xJFUDu16wiw/v-deo.html
I thought the same thing!!!!
Juan and his wife are my friends and both she and I are big Laura followers. It was quite an undertaking but it's so beautiful in person.
Gorgeous!
Thank you so much! We’re glad that you enjoyed it.
You may want to move your aeoniums to more shade , they really aren't sun lovers. Remember, they are winter growers. Right now would be a great time. They are summer dormant. You may want to switch them out for some of the crassulas. Sunset Jade will give you color.😊
That’s a good idea! Thank you for the advice!
We grow cactus and Yuccas, agaves, and succulents here in South Texas. They grow like weeds. We get about 30 inches of rain a year , most of it in the winter, we mound everything that are succulents, or arid and some years we are lucky to get 10 inches like this past year.l have alot of man made arroyo in my yard and l can tell from your video you found a perfect spot for one 😂😂 love your vid😊
Thank you Juan! I could’ve waited about an hour later to film and then the water would’ve been gone. We were concerned about the drainage but it has not been a problem.
G’day from Australia! Your garden is amazing! I’m a collector, too, and if you’re interested in seeing some of my garden beds, feel free to check out my UA-cam channel ‘Succs & Clay’ 🙂
Thank you Succs and Clay! There are so many species of succulents from all over the world and we look forward to learning more about them. I’ll be sure to check out your videos.
@@JuanLopez-nt1dh they are so awesome! It also so very addictive. I’ve recently discovered Adromischus succulents and I can’t get enough of them 😝
