  • Earlier this month Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed a decree to suspend Ankara's obligations under the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe. Known as the CFE, the treaty was signed in 1990 as the Soviet Union was beginning to unravel. It imposed limits on conventional military equipment in Europe. But Moscow withdrew from the agreement in November saying it does not serve Russia's fundamental security interests. NATO countries, including the US, UK and Germany followed by freezing their participation in the pact.
Moscow had previously suspended its participation in the CFE in 2007 before completely withdrawing last year. Russia blamed NATO countries for fueling the Ukraine conflict and embracing Finland and Sweden as new members. Although the reciprocal response from the alliance came with condemnation, the US said the suspension of the treaty's obligations would strengthen NATO's deterrence and defence capacity by removing restrictions which affect military planning. Where does Turkiye stand admist this change, and what impact will the CFE's suspesion have on European security.

Turkiye is far closer to Russia than any uropian country second biggest trade partner , and this has nothing to do with this news, the urope had rule that used to prevent countries from producing lots of gun and having big army , they had to let go of extra weapons but now turkiye changed its way, it means turkiye is gonna create a bigger army than what it has already

This treaty was not good for Russia because limiting number of arms per country will benefit NATO because they are group of countries and Russia is 1 country(this was a clever move by Russia...the West tried to fool Russia...the Treaty was okay during the Soviet vs NATO era)

"peace at home, peace in the world"
    1923 / ATATÜRK
Due to their geopolitical location the Turkish people have always had an army that has been fighting and ready for war since the earliest times of history..
It has a culture where every boy wants to be a soldier when he grows up, but the Turkish nation has a tolerance that is rare in the world..
The founding motto of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Army is "peace at home, peace in the world"

You have been lied Turkiye has been propagating for the independence of Paletine for the last 70 years, and Mr. Erdogan has been in the lead to voice this.
Obviously some would like to cloud the perception because they don't want Erdogan and Turkiye to succeed in establishing and supporting a FREE PALESTINE.
Can you guess who they may be? :)
