Love everything about this watch - bought the silver/champagne - and could not be happier. My new favorite watch for sure. Low-key, but gets a lot of interest from connoisseurs that wants to know more about it. Greetings from Denmark.
This is my only exposure to this watch, but I'm impressed. I see nothing I would change. This thing looks truly vintage, without obviously copying anything.
Comment 1: Excellent video Tom! Love the lifestyle shots, adds so much character to the story, the rest we already know you excel at. I would love to see more of this style of shooting in the future. And a special thank you for trying to show the silver dial in all its glory and variations, the green nato strap especially brought out the champagne side...
thx for the motivation mate.. i'll do my best in the future. when the opportunity presents, but it will be about choosing battles and when to put in that extra 8h +
Tom, your work is getting better and better with every video! This watch is truly a beauty. I love the hands, the size, and especially the watch dial-it's all incredibly well-crafted. The bracelet looks absolutely stunning and has such a refined appeal. Keep up the fantastic work!
Beautiful watch. Very tastefully designed. Nothing extraneous. Elegant but simple. Pricey...with many in this price range...but a possible future consideration. Great review thank you.
Including yourself in the action works, making the video more natural than if you are just the omniscient but unseen narrator. The Lorca silver has been on my wants list top 3 for a while, so I was looking forward to this one. The watch has some pedigree vintage cues-Longines (minute track), IWC (bracelet), Polerouter (date window), but manages to stay original and contemporary. Initially I didn’t like the horizontal alignment of the bezel numerals and their small size, but I’ve come round to it as a design feature unique to this watch. Thanks and wel 5:435:435:43 l done!
Thx. It was fun to try something new. It did add about 10h to the workflow with multiple ppl so I’m afraid it’s not possible for ever video atm. Lorca definetly charmed me. I think I want one now 🫣
A great video and a great watch! It caught my eyes a few months ago, but I couldn't find a real review of it, so simply great you made one! I also have the impression that your videos are getting better and better! Thanks for the review (and mentioning your wrist size.) That is the only thing I missed from earlier videos of yours :) keep up the great work, you may have sold me on this one!
You're really raising the bar on your videos and I am here for it! As of the Lorca. It charmed me from the moment I saw the images online. The design just grabbed me. And, as you mention, it's not common to find a GMT at this size with these specs. I ordered the silver/champagne dial during the original pre-order and had to wait months to get it. I've had it for 7+ months now, and is one of my favorites in my collection. The perfect travel companion, and just a beautiful watch for every day. It's hard to really capture all the details and charms, but you've done a fantastic job. Thanks for another great video!
Amazing video and an even more amazing watch. I've always had an admiration for this one but now can't deny that I want it. Fantastic job again playing salesman to my never satisfied watch heart. Cheers
Great watch, great review… Loving the “watch in the wild“ with gorgeous cinematography. Well done. Can we expect you reviewing chronograph race car next?
I think this is a very cool vintage design. It's maybe a bit smaller than I prefer, but I know this will please those lacking a GMT in a more compact size. I do wish for more lume space on the hour/minute hands as it seems like lume is almost to the "Why bother?" point. The bracelet has a look I like quite a bit. If I were picking between the two, I would definitely go with the black dial.
thanks mate. thanks for watching. I think we all have our sweet spots for watch sizing don't we ? i'd usually gravitate towards 40-42mm too. but I enjoy the smaller cases on occasion. I'm guessing but ... the lume feels like an older vintage watch where there is just that hint of lume left on it .... so on this watch it fits the vintage idea ... it didn't have to be more .. and just that tiny bit would allow you to see the time when in a dark room
@@BowlOfSalmon We definitely do. My watched range from 38 (wearing my "baby" Alpinist right now) to my 45mm King Turtle. I still have hope, but I've tried several 37mm watches on and not found them to feel/look proportional. It's all a personal thing and at least for me depends on the watch type.
@@RedwoodAggie def try it out if you have a chance ... i understand your feeling. this wears a little bigger.. 19mm also helps .. finer bracelets accentuate the smaller feel sometimes .. black would give it more "body" over the silver
I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really hope they make a traveller’s GMT version one day. It looks amazing!
@@BowlOfSalmon I emailed them (after buying one) and asked if they'd consider a Miyota 9075 movement in future releases. They said at this point the Miyota is harder to regulate to the same precision as the Soprod, and so they opted for the user spending less time resetting the watch to compensate for drift vs. the convenience of a flyer-style complication when traveling. I know Jack Mason was able to regulate the Miyota to +/-5spd on the Stratotimer, but I'll give them points for the consideration anyway. Personally, the uniqueness of the design won me over in the end.
many thanks mate... I just try to lean something myself too when filming . the lifestyle bits added a full day to the production so that won't be feasible to do on a weekly basis yet tho...
Video quality is great. The watch however is really disappointing/overhyped. First the font of the numbers on the bezel and date window is horrible, as is the font above the 6 o’clock position. Second the orientation of the gmt hours does not look great and 19mm lug width is obnoxious, a simple 18mm is perfectly proportional on a 36mm watch. Third, practically no lume (“minor lume plots” should be said as “next to no lume”) and for a watch described as a daily wearer, it doesn’t make sense. Fourth, the price. You cannot justify that $1,750 price tag in today’s market especially for a pretty meh movement. Overall, it’s still great looking and the bracelet looks amazing/unique, but there are major issues that are getting glossed over.
It is conceivable that your opinions about these things are not objective facts, which may explain why they weren’t covered as deeply as you seem to have wanted.
Of course half of what I mention can be subjective, but the other points are much more objective since one can directly compare data. To state “it’s meant to be a daily wearer” but then have almost no lume, seems suspect at least. Lug width and price is much more objective.
hi Mate, thanks for talking the time to watch my video. And I appreciate your feedback and your personal stance on things, even if it feels harsh. I think some of the things you mentioned are subjective .. some will like the font , others don't. if I would really dislike something I'd probably describe it as not MY cup of tea ... but not generalize it at "horrible", some like a date, others don't ... regarding lume.. I feel this is not an integral part of this watch, if a diver (like my p39 would have insufficent lume, i'd state that more clearly). in this case ... the owner wanted an under the radar watch, vintage vibes... heavy lume might be too much on stage .. again.. i think these are design choices from the brand, and I personally feel its nice , just enough to be there, it feels like a vintage watch that still has some juice left in the lume. last topic: price, I rarely talk about price or even mention the price... it's a luxury product where everyone can decide what a watch is worth to them. I talk about watches from 299€ to 60k-100k here on the channel ... for some 299 is cheap , for most its still a lot of money .... we have to remember Lorca is a small startup brand, without the economics of scale, and they are not just plucking "parts" out of a catalogue together to create a watch... they make something original . in terms of microbrands that I've handled, I look for originality and something that feels right at the pricepoint, again. to ME. cheers Tom

This has been one of my fav watches on the channel this year. Every time I see it on IG my heart skips a beat
Fantastic video Tom. Definitely having me look twice at this watch 👏👏
Thx Tom. Would be a great size for your wrist too

@@BowlOfSalmon Has to be the silver for me. Ups the vintage appeal and to be frank I already have too many black dials!
The champagne dial is beautiful. I think that is slightly too small for me. Looks wise and absolute classic.
do try it when you get a chance .. I'm usually comfortable with 40-42 most and this surprised me. thanks for watching
Great cinematography, Tom 😍👌🏼
Thank you 🙌
Wow. Just…..wow.❤ this looks like a NOS watch from the 60s. Maybe he designs a dive watch next? Vintage style of course. I wish the bezel rotated.
Thanks ! Good summary of this watch from you. The next watch is coming (but 🤐) so definitely keep an eye out on the brand
Great video! Absolutely adore this model 👍
Thanks for watching mate 🙏
Fantastic review of a pretty cool watch 🙌🏻

absoltely agreed... from all watches in this price tier i've seen in the last year this is by far my favourite

thanks a lot !
Next level video, Tom
thanks a lot ! we try to push & improve.... now we just need an audience :) can't deny it hurts a little when video's don't get seen much
I wish the bezel turns so you can track a third time or you can make an easy adjustment upon landing to a different time zone.
design choices. and a horizontal printed bezel would be odd in that case ;)
Not my type of watch, but the video is great and everyday shots are wonderful. I really like it, thank you!
Thanks for your time sir
Did you have problem reading the time on white dial?
It’s not always instant but it did not bother me and I don’t find that dealbreaker for this watch
Is he related to RJ from Fratello? Very good vid!🤔
who would be related to RJ ? :)
Great vid! The watch doesn’t catch me tho… 😢
Perhaps it will more pop with a good black leather strap.
thx for taking the time to watch tho !much appreciated
This is sexy. I’ll be tuned to see a 3 hander with a blued seconds hand.
I'm married tho ;)
$1700 is a bit steep for this IMHO
Economics of scale play a part. Good new brand , original watches and luxury products don’t always make sense.
